To enable Battery Saver in the Opera GX browser, open the browser and go to Settings by pressing Alt+P. In the left panel, click on Advanced, then select Features. On the main page, find the Battery saver section and toggle on Enable battery saver.

How much battery life can I save?

The exact amount of battery life you can save with Battery Saver depends on your usage patterns and the tasks you perform. In testing, Battery Saver has been able to extend battery life by up to an hour.

How does Battery Saver work?

The Battery Saver feature in the Opera GX browser works by optimizing various browser activities. It reduces activity in background tabs, tweaks video-playback parameters, reschedules JavaScript timers, and pauses plug-ins and animations.

When you unplug your laptop, the Battery Saver icon will appear to the right of your address bar, and you will be able to activate the feature and extend your battery life without needing additional apps.
