Opera Mini Data Dance Competition Terms & Conditions

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW OR REGULATION. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT LEAST THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR JURISDICTION AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.

The following Opera Mini Data Dance Competition Rules (“Special Rules” or “Rules”) for the Opera Mini Data Dance Competition supplement and amend the Opera Prize Giveaways: Official Rules (“General Rules”). In the event of a conflict between the Special Rules and the General Rules, the Special Rules shall take precedence. By participating in the Opera Mini Data Dance Competition (“Contest”), the entrant (“Entrant” or “you”) agrees to be bound by the Special Rules of this Contest.

1. Eligibility

Open only to adult residents of South Africa.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 00:01am on 21st May, 2025 and ends at 23:59pm on 18th June, 2025 (“Contest Period”).

3. How to Enter

To participate in the Contest:

• Post a video of yourself performing the Opera Mini Data Dance Challenge.
• Use the official campaign hashtag #OperaMiniDataDance and tag @Operamini on your post on Tiktok.

Participants may submit multiple entries, but only one entry can be selected as a winner.

4. Prizes & Approximate Retail Value (ARV)

Grand Prize: 1 prize of 5 years’ worth of airtime, valued at R23,940.00, awarded as a single payment of R23,940.00 in airtime to the winner. This amount is based on the following calculation:

• Average monthly data usage: 6GB per month (based on typical pre-paid phone data usage).
• Monthly cost of 6GB data plan: R399 (as per MTN prepaid data pricing).
• Total cost over 5 years:R399 x 12 months x 5 years = R23,940.00
• Total data worth: 360GB
• The ARV of the grand prize is R23,940.00

Second Place Prizes: 2 prizes of 3 years’ worth of airtime, awarded as a single payment of R14,364.00 in airtime to the winner. This amount is based on the following calculation:

• Average monthly data usage: 6GB per month (based on typical pre-paid phone data usage).
• Monthly cost of 6GB data plan: R399 (as per MTN prepaid data pricing).
• Total cost over 3 years: R399 x 12 months x 3 years = R14,364.00
• Total data worth: 216GB
• The ARV of the grand prize is R14,364.00

Third Place Prizes: 47 prizes of 6 months’ worth of airtime, awarded as a single payment of R2,394.00 in airtime to the winner. This amount is based on the following calculation:

• Average monthly data usage: 6GB per month (based on typical pre-paid phone data usage).
• Monthly cost of 6GB data plan: R399 (as per MTN prepaid data pricing).
• Total cost over 3 years: R399 x 6 months = R2,394.00
• Total data worth: 36GB
• The ARV of the grand prize is R2,394.00

Important Note:

• The prizes will be provided in the form of a one-time airtime prize payment or equivalent transfer of the ARV via MiniPay. It is the winner’s responsibility to manage and allocate the airtime prize or funds as they see fit for airtime or data purchases.
• The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be substituted for any other goods or services unless at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
• Any costs exceeding the prize amount are the sole responsibility of the winner.

5. Selection of Winners

• The winners will be chosen by a judges panel from Opera.
• Winners will be announced throughout the campaign period via Opera Mini accounts on Tiktok and Facebook.

6. Notification and Prize Claim

• Winners will be notified via direct message on TikTok or Facebook within 7 days of the announcement.
• Winners must respond within 48 hours to claim their prize, or the prize may be forfeited, and another winner may be chosen.
• Winners will be required to provide identification, proof of eligibility, telephone number, phone network operator and complete the prize claim form.

7. Intellectual Property, Licenses, and Public Release

Entrants are solely responsible for the content they upload and distribute for Contest purposes. Entrants affirm, represent, and warrant that they own or have the rights, licenses, permissions and consents necessary to publish, duplicate, and distribute the submitted content. Opera does not endorse copyright infringing activities or other intellectual property infringing activities, and violations of the law may result in the removal of content if Opera is notified of such violations. Removal from the Entrant list may occur without prior notice. Entrants retain all ownership rights to the submitted content, and by submitting content for Contest purposes, Entrants hereby grant to Opera, a timeless, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the content and entrant’s likeness (if included in content), including without limitation for promoting, redistributing in any and all media formats.

Acceptance of any prize constitutes each winner’s permission for Opera to use that prize winner’s name, photograph, likeness, name, biographical information, statements and prize information, (collectively, the “Attributes”), for advertising and publicity purposes worldwide and in all forms of media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, without further compensation or authorization, (except where prohibited by law), and releases Opera from all claims arising out of the use of such Attributes.
