Am I eligible to participate in the Opera Web Rewind contest?

You are eligible to participate in the contest as long as you live in a country where entry is not prohibited by law, and you are legally considered an adult in your country of residence at the time of entry.

How do I participate in the Opera Web Rewind contest?

You can enter the contest in two ways:
  1. Online Submission:
    • Go to www.web-rewind.com.
    • Fill in the submission form, and provide a short creative text (up to 500 characters) or a photo or video about your favorite early memory of the web.
      Files can be up to 10 MB in .mp4, .mov, .pdf, .png, or .jpeg format.
  2. On Social Media Channels:
    • Visit and follow Opera on Instagram, TikTok or X. Comment on the Opera Web Rewind contest post with your favorite early memory of the web, and tag two friends in your comment.
The creative text, image, or video will be the only factor taken into account in selecting a winner.

Are there any specific requirements for claiming the prize?

To claim your prize, you must be 18 years of age or older, reside in a country where entry in the Opera Web Rewind contest is not prohibited by law, and agree to the Terms & Conditions of this contest.

Because of the type of prize, you will need to have travel documents, such as a passport, and be willing and able to obtain a travel visa to Switzerland.

When does the contest start and end?

The contest begins February 17th, 2026, and ends March 27th, 2026. After the contest concludes and the winners are announced, travel arrangements will be made.

Can I enter the contest multiple times?

No, you can enter the contest only once.

What’s included in the prize?

Each winner will receive round-trip air travel to and from Geneva, Switzerland from the winner’s location between April 10th, 2026 and June 30th, 2026, and accommodation.

What is not included in the prize?

The prize does not cover food expenses, insurance, or any other travel costs beyond those specified in the contest’s Terms & Conditions.

How will the winners be chosen?

The winners will be selected by the Opera Team’s subjective opinion of the creative submission.

How will the winners be notified?

The winners will be notified via email on or around March 31, 2026. In order to qualify, winners must respond within 48 hours of notification. Once confirmed, winners will be publicly announced on Opera’s social media channels.

What if I win, but the laws in my country won’t let me accept the prize?

Unfortunately, if the laws in your country prevent you from accepting the prize, you will be disqualified from the contest.
