Going forward and backward
Opera remembers the documents you have visited in the correct order. This way you can easily re-visit places you have just been to. If you wish to go back to the last read page or several previous pages press on the left arrow in the button bar. The right arrow will move you forward again.
You can also move backwards and forwards in the history list by holding down the Ctrl or Alt key and using the Right and Left arrow keys or just using Z and X.
Opera also maintains a global history of all sites you have accessed. You can change the number of entries to store by going to and edit the number of addresses under "Remember visited addresses for history and autocompletion".
tip! You can access the global history via . The file where Opera stores these entries is called "global.dat", and you can delete it if you want to remove traces of your browsing or if Opera crashes when trying to access it.
tip! When you are browsing a series of pages, such as a search engine result, the Fast Forward and Rewind can give you quick access to the next and first pages, respectively.
