Using Opera Mail with a webmail account

Whether or not you can use Opera Mail with your webmail account depends on which services are offered by your provider, and often which type of account you have. Many free webmail providers will only offer a Web interface, but may give you access to POP or IMAP for a fee, or if you upgrade your account.

Some providers offer POP access (such as Opera Web Mail, GMail or Yahoo! Mail), some providers offer IMAP access (such as AIM Mail or .mac), some providers will only let you use their own software (such as Hotmail or Windows Live Mail), while others offer no other access than a Web interface.

For details on using Opera Mail with Opera Web Mail, see the article Premium Opera Web Mail SMTP and POP3 server addresses.

For details on using Opera Mail with webmail providers offering POP or IMAP access, refer to your provider's server details, and see the tutorial on setting up a new account in Opera Mail.

Providers that offer neither POP nor IMAP access are generally not supported, however there are a number of third-party utilities that might still allow you to use Opera Mail. Below follows a small selection of such software. Opera Software does not offer support for these utilities.
