Auto-complete e-mail addresses

Opera helps you fill in e-mail addresses automatically as you type. The auto-complete feature in Opera is based on your contact list, Opera's built-in address book. You can edit and organize your contacts by either pressing [F4] or going to View > Toolbars > Panelsto show the Panel, then selecting the Contacts tab.

To use auto-complete, create a new e-mail by using Ctrl+M (Ctrl+E for versions of Opera prior to 9.5), and start typing the first name of someone registered in your address book. You will see the auto-complete feature fill in the rest of the name and the address. Because the feature is based on names, you don't have to remember your friend's e-mail addresses.

When replying to a message from an unknown e-mail address, Opera assumes you know the person you are replying to, and automatically adds their e-mail address to your contact list. The next time you compose an e-mail, their name and e-mail will be available for auto-complete. If you want to easily add someone as a contact without sending them a message, simply press A while reading a message from them.
