Opera does not start due to incompatibility with installed version of Qt

If you see error messages like

./opera: Symbol `__vt_6QFrame' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking

this means that you are using the dynamic version of Opera, and that your system either has a different version of Qt than Opera, or that your libqt was compiled with a different compiler.

We generally recommend that people use the static version of Opera, since this means that you won't have to download and compile the correct Qt version to make Opera work on your system.
