Importing contacts/address books from other programs

Opera can import contacts from Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, Netscape 6/7 and Opera 5/6.

In Opera 8 and above, choose the menu item: File > Import and export > Import mail

In Opera 7 and earlier, choose the menu item: File > Import

People who need to import contacts from other programs can try software, such as Dawn, which can convert contacts for a number of different programs.

An alternative is to use this online service which will convert comma-separated or tab-delimited contact files to Opera's contacts format:
