Changes in Keyboard Shortcuts Between Opera 9.27 and Opera 9.50

Opera 9.5 introduced significant changes to the standard keyboard shortcut setup. For a summary of the changes, see below.

To recover the keyboard shortcut setup of Opera 9.2, go to Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts, and select "Opera 9.2 Compatible".

Note: Mac users should read Command for Ctrl and Option for Alt for cross-platform shortcuts.

Single-Key Shortcuts

The "Enable single-key shortcuts" preference in Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts enables classic single-key shortcuts, such as Z/X to navigate history, 1/2 to switch tabs, and A/Q for page navigation. This setting is disabled by default. The following shortcuts are enabled by this preference:
