How do I make .dll files visible on my system?

Before you begin to install a plug-in for use with Opera, it is important to be sure that .dll files are visible on your computer. This is because most plug-ins will install their own .dll (dynamic link library) files on your computer, and these are the files you will need to find in order to use the plug-in with Opera.

In order to view .dll files on Windows XP, you will need to set up your system so that it will show you all files on your system, including any system or hidden files. You can do this by double-clicking on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, pulling down the "Tools" menu, and choosing "Folder Options...". Then you will need to click on the "View" tab. Under "Hidden Files", be sure the option for "Show hidden files and folders" is selected. You should also make sure that "Hide extensions for known file types" is not selected. Then click "OK". Dynamic link library (.dll) files should now be visible on your system.
