Does Opera support Active Server Pages (ASP)?

Active Server Pages (ASP) is a scripting language similar to Common Gateway Interface (CGI). ASP scripts are processed by Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and the result is sent to the browser as an HTML file (or image or binary file depending on what the script does). The ".asp" extension isn't used by Opera at all, it's the server that needs it to decide what to do.

If you have a problem with a web page that uses ASP, it may be because the server checks if you are using a specific browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, and sends different pages based on the results. If you think this is the case, try hiding Opera's identity from the site.
