It is possible to control drag and drop operations in Opera through the opera6.ini file

Go to Help > About Opera and find the location of your opera6.ini file. Close Opera and open opera6.ini in a text editor.

Next, find the [User Prefs] section, and look for a line starting with "Enable Drag=". If this line does not exist, add it below [User Prefs]:

Enable Drag=X

• 255: All drag operation enabled
• 0: Drag and drop completely disabled
• 1: Drag elements from document window enabled (cannot be dropped within document)
• 2: Drag bookmarks enabled (from panel to document window)
• 4: Drag from "Location" label on address bar enabled
• 8: As 1, but drag and drop inside document enabled

"Enable Drag=7" is the default, and a combination between 1, 2 and 4 (1+2+4=7). It will enable all drag and drop operations, except that dropping is disabled within the document the dragging started in.

"Enable Drag=255" allows links and images to be dragged and dropped within the current document.
