Opera is bundled with most Nokia 6600's, 6620's and 7610's in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. It is part of what Nokia calls a "complimentary sales package" which also includes a number of Try'n'Buy applications. These applications are preinstalled on the MMC card that comes with the phone.
Some phones ship without this package. If your MMC did not come with Opera you can purchase the browser from Opera. Opera can be downloaded and installed for free for all Nokia 6680/81/82 and N70/90 users (registration not required).
Opera is locked to each phone's unique IMEI number. If you replace the MMC card you must install Opera on the new card (or internal disk). You can download the latest version of the browser from Opera. When you install this on the new MMC it will pick up the registration info from the previous installation of Opera.
If you have to replace your phone, but keep the original MMC, Opera will no longer be registered. This happens because the registration code is locked to the IMEI of your old phone. All Nokia service centers have information on how to generate a new registration code for Opera. You have to provide them with both the old and new IMEI numbers.
This will also be necessary if you do a complete format of both the internal disk and the MMC. Contact your Nokia service center for a new registration code.
We understand that some Nokia service centers are not aware that they have access to a system to generate new codes. If that is the case you can use this form to request a new registration code.
