Once the plug-in is installed, and Opera has been restarted, make sure that Opera can find it: select to see if the plug-in is listed.
If the plug-in is not listed, select and click the button marked . At the bottom of the ensuing dialogue, the current plug-in path is given. Click , and add the path appropriate to your plug-in.
For versions of Opera prior to Opera 9, you need to have Motif/libmotif installed:
http://www.opera.com/linux/docs/plugins/install/motif/
If you do not have Motif installed, you will see a failed dependency: libXm.so.2. You can still force an install, but without Motif, Opera will not be able to display Netscape plug-ins or Java applets.
