Spreading cheer with digital imaging:
Opera and Make9 Offer a Discounted Image Showcasing Service for Opera Users
Oslo, Norway – Dec. 17, 2003
Opera Software and Make9 today announced a special discounted offer for Opera users to showcase their digital pictures using Make9's online studio. Among many creative possibilities, the service allows users to publish movies, puzzles and even 3D effects with their digital images to feature them in a personalized URL. The discounted rate is available to users in the My Opera Community, www.myopera.com.
"Publishing images on the Web seemed to be a privilege of Web professionals," says Alexander Dill, CEO, Make9. "Our challenge was to help the amateurs."
According to Make9, 75% of all cameras sold today are digital cameras, leading to an increase in the number of pictures users take along with their ability to secure desired shots through previewing and deleting options. Make9's service provides a solution to make the most use of these pictures that may otherwise become buried in a computer or on a memory card.
"We are always happy to offer our users something special," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "A service like that of Make9's will allow our users to bring their images to the Web for all their near or far friends and family to see in a presentation all their own, which is the spirit of Opera: creative and customizable."
The discounted rate is at EUR 29, which provides storage of up to 100 movies. Creating presentations complete with sound and text options is made easy with drag-and-drop functionality. Visit myopera.com for more details.
