Opera Software and T-Com today partnered to create an exclusive version of Opera's award-winning Web browser for T-Online Internet access customers. T-Com represents the Broadband/Fixed Network strategic business area in the Deutsche Telekom Group and is one of the largest broadband/fixed-network providers in Europe with just under 10 million broadband lines, around 40 million narrowband lines and more than 15 million Internet customers with a billing relationship. Under the T-Online brand, customers are provided with Internet access and services. The custom-designed Opera browser puts users one step closer to their favorite content, including news, sports, videos and gives a common platform for interacting with T-Online Web services. It is available for immediate download at no charge in German from www.t-online.de/opera.
Opera is the preferred Web browsing choice for millions of people worldwide. Opera pioneered many features now considered must-haves in a Web browser, such as tabbed browsing windows, intuitive mouse gestures, Web widgets, file distribution through BitTorrent and more productive management of browsing sessions. The Opera browser includes all these features as well as Opera's new Fraud Protection to help keep T-Online Internet access customers safe as they surf the Web.
"With this Opera edition customers can now access T-Online's breadth of unique content and the rest of the Web with a safe browser that puts a range of intelligent and useful features at their fingertips," said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software.
The Opera browser for T-Online will be available from T-Online's Web properties and is also available bundled with T-Com hardware and other distribution partners.
