Opera Software today announced four new contracts with companies that will promote and distribute the Opera Mini mobile browser to their customers. The four companies are US-based PriceRunner, HT Telecom in Latvia, Small Planet (part of jippii.ru) in Russia and the Baltics, and Denmark-based Unwirepark, which will distribute Opera Mini in 180 countries. This announcement comes only days after Opera announced three important distribution agreements for Opera Mini with T-Mobile, GrameenPhone in Bangladesh and the German telecommunications service provider, debitel.
According to the agreements, the four companies will actively promote and distribute both regular and customized versions of Opera Mini to their customers. The customization may include company branding, bookmarks and content on the Opera Mini start page.
The US-based Price Runner will actively promote and distribute Opera Mini to give its users mobile access to its online product and price comparison services.
High Technologies SIA is the biggest mobile applications service provider in the Baltics. They will be promoting and distributing Opera Mini in Latvia via Premium SMS.
Through its ownership of Jippii, a leading international mobile entertainment service provider, Small Planet will market and distribute Opera Mini as a premium download in Russia, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. More than 600.000 people get their mobile content from Jippii every month, and the company has direct connectivity to more than 30 operators in the four countries.
A world leading mobile content distributor owned by Mobile Weaver, Unwirepark will distribute Opera Mini through its online content store-front in 180 countries via premium SMS.
