Opera Software and the Web Design and Developers Association (WDDA) are pleased to announce their partnership today as part of Opera Software's Global Donations Program. WDDA has named the Opera Web browser their official browser in part because it is standards-compliant and ensures Web surfers an enjoyable surfing experience. This partnership emphasizes Opera's goal to facilitate Web accessibility and keep the Web open for all.
Opera's Global Donations Program brings fully licensed versions of the Opera browser to primary and secondary schools, Web designer schools, companies, and organizations representing physically challenged individuals. Organizations can apply for free registered versions of Opera through distribute.opera.com/donations.
"Opera's speed, combined with its ease-of-use and security features, are among the reasons that it is quickly becoming the browser of choice for millions of Web surfers worldwide," says Stuart Halpryn, president of the WDDA. "Opera's cross-platform compatibility ensures our members and visitors that their Web sites designed for Opera will display correctly across a variety of operating systems and Web browsers."
Together, Opera's Global Donations Program and the WDDA will ensure that the Internet catalyzes technological innovation and advancement. The Global Donations Program aims to help ensure that the Internet remains a place that fits more than just one browser by allowing the people who design Web pages to also test with Opera for free.
"We are proud to have the WDDA as a member of Opera's Global Donations Program," says Dean Kakridas, VP of desktop products for Opera Software. "Opera Software believes in a free and accessible Internet open to all. We are confident that our partnership with WDDA will aid this cause."
