A Better Chinese Internet Experience

Opera Partners with Chinese keyword alternative 3721

Oslo, Norway and Beijing, China -- July 15, 2002

Opera Software ASA and Inter China Network Software Co. Ltd. (aka 3721, for the Web site www.3721.com.) today announced that 3721's keyword technology will be available in the Chinese version of Opera's desktop browsers.

Chinese Internet users face a challenge unfamiliar to many English and Roman alphabet language users, that the ASCII character based Domain Name navigation system is non-intuitive and difficult to use.

"We are thrilled to continue to serve Chinese users with a keyword alternative," says Dean Kakridas, VP desktop products, Opera Software ASA. "Opera is all about making the Internet more easily available to everyone. With 3721, users can type in Chinese names without learning or remembering English URLs. It adds extra power to Opera's long-term goal of offering a faster and more effective Internet experience."

3721's real-name technology will be implemented in Opera's Chinese version starting immediately.
