Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 released at Macworld Expo

Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 was released today at Macworld Expo in New York. This Classic version for operating systems 7.5.3 and higher, which has received rave reviews in its alpha and beta stages, has improved overall performance by adding significant functionality.

Opera is well-known for being faster, smaller and more standards-compliant than other browsers, and in this release Opera offers Mac users added Java, support for "InternetConfig" and auto-completion of URLs.

"We have also designed a special button set to go along with the browser as a special feature during the Macworld Expo."

Today, Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 and the button set will be available exclusively for download for those who visit www.versiontracker.com. From July 19, users can download Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 from Opera's home page at www.opera.com as well as from Versiontracker and other download sites.

Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 will run on Power PC Macs with Mac OS 7.5.3 or later installed. Systems prior to 8.0 will require installation of Appearance Manager. Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 will work with Mac OS X in the Classic mode.

Opera 5 for Mac Beta 2 has powerful search features where users can easily move between the most popular search engines, and search for terms, domain names, images, video, stock quotes or company information.
