Opera for BeOS Browser Beta Available Today for Public Download

New browser marks Opera Software's first step into multiple platform market

Oslo, Norway - July 29, 1999

Opera Software A/S (Opera) announces the release of its first non-Windows(TM) browser as a public beta. Making Opera for BeOS the first step toward an Opera goal of an Opera browser on all significant platforms.

"This confirms that the collaboration between our own core development team and the team of Hern Labs in Sweden has been fruitful. The Opera for BeOS port has already received a lot of attention and interest from different Internet Appliance Manufacturers worldwide. We perceive this attention to be caused by the current growth and anticipated continued expansion of the appliance market. Our vision is the Internet for all, and we anticipate more and more 'online instantly' devices and appliances. We believe the Opera browser to be ideal for this market with its functionality, speed and compactness".
