How do I add a page to Speed Dial?

From Speed Dial, tap the + icon to add a Speed Dial entry. Then, enter the page’s address.

If you want to add a page you are currently viewing, tap the + on the left side of the address bar. Then, select Speed Dial.

Can I add a shortcut to a site or web app on my device's home screen?

Yes. While browsing, tap the + on the left side of the address bar. Then, select Add to home screen. Well-built sites and web apps will function like apps you install from the Opera Mobile Store, Google Play or other app store. But, by accessing them through the web, they take up far less space on your device.

How do I save a page for offline use?

Tap the + on the left side of the address bar. Then, select Save for offline. This adds the page to a Speed Dial group named Saved pages, which you can view without an internet connection.

Can I change where downloads are saved?

When you download a file, Opera shows you the name, size and destination of the download. If you'd like to save the file to a different location, tap on the small gray triangle above the Save button and select your desired folder. The folder you choose will be remembered for the next download.

What is data savings?

Opera saves your mobile data by compressing images and text on the pages you view. Enabling this feature allows Opera’s servers to compress and deliver smaller-sized page elements to your device, extending limited data plans and speeding up slow or unreliable networks.

Is data savings secure?

At Opera, we take your privacy very seriously. If you browse a secure site, like your bank or email, Opera stays out of the way. Your sensitive data is sent directly between your device and the secure site.

To improve services, some information is logged by Opera’s servers: your IP-address, the user agent of the device you use, the web addresses of the pages you visit and timestamps. This information may stay on the server for up to six months.

Can I download media files?

Yes. Long-press the content you wish to download and select Download. Some websites, such as YouTube or Vimeo, may block downloading or offer streaming content that cannot be downloaded.

Does Opera for Android support Flash?

Unfortunately, no. Adobe no longer supports Adobe Flash Player on Android devices. Most video sites now offer content as HTML5 video, instead.

Where is the exit button?

You can exit the browser from the main menu. Look for the power button.

It is unnecessary to explicitly exit apps on Android in order to free up memory. The platform automatically manages running applications, as memory is needed.
