Opera Feature Tour
Use Page Up and Page Down for navigating the slides. Press F11 to switch back to screen mode.

Opera is designed for user customization, security, and SPEED. This tour will demonstrate how to use Opera's special key features to accommodate your preferences with regard to functionality, behavior, and appearance. The tour itself can be presented using Opera Show, Opera's built-in presentation tool.
Tip:
If you are using the Opera browser, press F11 to view the features in Opera Show. While in Opera Show, use Page Up and Page Down for navigating the slides.
Tabbed Browsing

There is no need to open up a lot of windows to view different sites. Opera's tabbed browsing helps you surf the Web easier and faster by opening multiple Web pages all within one window. Tabbed browsing is one aspect of Opera's Multiple Document Interface (MDI), which maintains multiple pages within a single application window and better supports users who need to refer to numerous sites at the same time.
Tip:
Change the order of the tabs by dragging and dropping them on the page bar. View all windows at once by selecting "Cascade" or "Tile" options under the "Window" menu. There you can also select to maximize or minimize all open windows and pages.
Tip:
Close all of your tabs in one simple click. Right click on any tab for the option to close all pages or to close all pages except for the one you are currently surfing.

Security

Protect yourself from ad-ware, spy-ware, viruses, and other third-party malicious software applications that silently attack your computer while you are surfing the Web.
Opera displays security information inside the address bar, located next to the padlock icon that indicates the level of security present on a site.
The small, yellow security bar appears on secure sites and displays the name of the organization that owns the certificate. By clicking on the bar the user has access to more information about the validity of the certificate. These anti-spoof measures help users make educated decisions about a site's validity and security.

Refuse Pop-ups

Opera can easily be configured to push all pop-up windows to the background, to show only pop-ups that you have requested, or to simply refuse them all.
You will find your pop-up settings in the Preferences, accessed from the menu Tools > Preferences or by pressing Alt+P and choosing "Windows".
You will receive a notification showing that a pop-up was blocked.
Tip:
Pop-up control is also available in the Quick Preferences, displayed by pressing F12.

Built-in Search

Opera's built-in search utility, by default located next to the address field, searches the Web using an engine of your choice. Select your preferred search engine using the drop down menu provided inside the search field, or set a new default in the 'Search' section of Opera's preferences. Opera's searches are also gathered in the Search panel.
Tip:
Search Google directly from the address bar by typing "g" before your query.

Wand Password Manager

(Ctrl+Enter)
The Wand stores your passwords so that you can have one-click log-in access.
When you fill in a form and/or log in with a username and password, the Wand will ask you if you would like to save the information. Activate the Wand to automatically fill in the form and/or log in next time you visit.
The Wand can store more than one username and password combination for a Web page or site, and will let you choose which one to use if multiple combinations are stored.
Tip:
You can clear all Wand passwords from the "Delete Private Data" entry in the "File" menu or from the dialog that appears on a page with multiple passwords saved on it.

Fast Forward and Rewind

Fast Forward:
(Shift+X)
Rewind:
(Shift+Z)
The Fast Forward and Rewind functions let the browser anticipate where you may want to go next.
If you, for example, make a search request through Google, you are normally given results that are indexed across many pages. There is not yet any user forward history, but the "Fast Forward" option will detect the "next" link and take you to the next page.
Using the same example, you may return directly to the first page after having browsed through the search result pages by clicking the "Rewind." button.

Panel Selector

The panel selector is a customizable display of shortcuts to Opera's panels. You decide which panel buttons you would like to display in the panel selector, and in what order.
Opera has panels for such features as bookmarks, mail, contacts, chat, notes, transfers, history, links, windows, and notes. Most of these panels are included in the default setup. Right-click the panel or the selector to customize the display to your liking.
Tip:
To hide the panels, click on its left edge. Click once more, to view it again.

E-mail with RSS Newsfeed

Opera's built-in POP/IMAP E-mail client is a combined e-mail program, news reader, mailing list organizer and RSS newsfeed reader. A safer, faster, and more intelligent way of handling your e-mails.
Opera's e-mail client is database driven, enabling you to organize and find your e-mails in a matter of seconds through easy searches, labeling, and filtering rather than traditional folder storage.
