Product Marketing Manager, Mobile

Location: Oslo, Norway, no

Product Marketing Manager for Mobile to be responsible for creating and maintaining the external positioning of its mobile products. The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with Marketing, Product Development and Sales teams. In this role, you will develop strategic marketing plans for Opera's mobile browsers through market research, competitive analysis, ROI analysis and user behavior.

The Product Marketing Manager for Mobile will manage external product positioning, messaging and collateral, as well as developing and maintaining a full set of sales materials. You will quickly become an expert on the products, the market, our users, our partners and the competition, and you should be able to translate this knowledge into materials that clearly communicate the value of our products to our end users and business partners.

The Product Marketing Manager for Mobile will also propose new product features and functionality in partnership with Product Development. You will act as Marketing's representative on cross-functional development teams. You will provide customer use-case examples to Product Development and be the primary bridge between customer feedback and requirements to the Product Development team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop positioning and messaging that clearly differentiate Opera's mobile browsers in the marketplace.
  • Create high-impact materials that clearly communicate the value and unique advantage of Opera's products.
  • Prepare recommendations to the Product Development department regarding product improvements important to users, based on research and market analysis.
  • Work with the Market Research Manager to deliver on-going research into our users, the market, our competitors, opportunities and threats.
  • Develop and manage product collateral including product sheets, datasheets, whitepapers, case studies and videos.
  • Assist with sales training on product positioning-ensure all Sales team members can clearly communicate our product positioning and message.

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills, with experience in developing materials for end users and business customers
  • 5 or more years of consumer technology (ideally mobile) product-marketing experience
  • Experience in developing effective and creative product-marketing collateral, such as web content, data sheets, videos and white papers
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with internal stakeholders (Sales, Product Development, Marketing)
  • A deep understanding of the international mobile market, including experience working with operators, OEMs and content partners
  • Willingness to travel
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent experience, with MBA preferred
