Senior Client-Side Developer - Web-Technology Expert

Location: Oslo, Norway, no

The Opera Web Applications team creates cutting-edge Web applications, libraries and tools using Opera's browser technologies on a wide variety of platforms, including desktop, mobile handsets and embedded devices. We are looking for experienced developers who are able to further enhance the Web Applications team and our products.

Responsibilities

• Working within the organization to ensure that the Opera Web Browser provides the right features to support rich, client-side applications
• Working with Opera's international customers who are implementing products on top of Opera's browser technologies
• Implementation of client-side applications, tools and libraries
• Pioneering and innovating in client-side Web technologies

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of English, written and spoken
• Experience with Scrum or other Agile software development processes
• Quality focus
• Enthusiasm and motivation for working on complex problems and Web-browser technology
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong programming skills and several years of experience as a client-side Web-technology developer
• Up-to-date on current development trends
• Extensive experience in developing or using client-side Ajax tools, frameworks and libraries such as jQuery, Dojo or the YUI Library
• Strong skills in a wide variety of Web technologies and techniques such as ECMAScript, CSS, HTML, XHTML, DOM, XML, XSLT, XPath, SVG, Canvas, Ajax or JSON
• Expert knowledge on ECMAScript/Javascript or CSS
