Communications Manager, Russia/CIS

Location: Moscow and St Petersburg, Russian Federation, ru

Opera is looking for people with PR in their DNA. We are seeking an experienced, creative and self-motivated native, Russian-speaking Communications Manager to play a key role in taking Opera’s public relations towards the Russian market to the next level.

You will collaborate and work closely with a global team of skilled communication professionals who can help you excel and grow in one of the world’s most exciting work environments. Regular activities include media and analyst relations, event management, and project proposing and planning.

If you are the right candidate, you are passionate about the role PR can play as part of an overall marketing strategy. You are also an experienced strategic thinker who can further develop and customize Opera’s messaging platform for the Russian market. You will be based in Moscow, with a starting period of at least a month in Oslo.

Responsibilities

  • Handle media relations in Russia and CIS.
  • Network with industry leaders to have their support when needed.
  • Develop local PR activities to inspire people to use Opera browsers.
  • Adopting global PR projects, expertise and finding the best way to implement these in the local market.
  • B2B project support in local markets.
  • Arrange media interviews for top-managers in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus
  • Secure speaking slots at major events (conferences, barcamps, forums).
  • Create, support and maintain a local network of journalists to keep them as close to the company's products and culture as possible.
  • Arrange media interview tours for journalists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus in Oslo

Requirements

  • Excellent Russian (written and verbal)
  • Background from PR or as a journalist, 5 years minimum
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
  • Great presentation skills
  • Outstanding established media network
  • Strong self-motivation, time management and ability to work from any place with Internet access

Ideals (one or more)

  • Technology background
  • Understanding of, and network in, lifestyle media
  • Great knowledge of CIS media markets outside of Russia
