Opera's Swedish offices in Linköping and Göteborg offer a wide range of positions. From development to quality assurance and testing, there are plenty of opportunities and benefits from working at Opera's Swedish offices.

Currently, more than 60 Opera employees are working in Sweden. Opera has a young, international work environment, and we are always looking for the best people from all over the world to join our team.

The office in Linköping is located in a building from the late 19th century, with a tile stove in nearly every room. The Göteborg office, employing seven developers, and growing, is located in the center of Göteborg.

Opera has always been a pioneering force in web technologies, and the first to introduce many of the features and technologies that you use every day. Working at Opera is working with the engineers that have helped shape the Internet and a chance for you to fill that suit yourself. We provide the tools for you to develop, while you get the opportunity to influence the development of the World Wide Web. Regardless of project, your work will benefit all of Opera as a whole, and as a result be used by millions of people all over the world.

Apart from core development of the browser, development work in Sweden revolves around upcoming embedded Linux platforms, consumer electronics, and the mobile JAVA and BREW platforms.

Opera has a young, international work environment. Since every Opera project and work group spans over both borders and continents, a day at work at Opera means communicating or having face-to-face contact with experts from different cultures. Opera strives to enrich all offices with an international mix of people. In Linköping, women make up 20% of the staff and there are eight different nationalities.

Open and stimulating

Our goal is to foster an open and intellectually stimulating environment where you can exercise your knowledge and experience to its fullest. In the Swedish offices, the different project teams are encouraged to present their work to each other on a weekly basis. This lets fellow developers give feedback, and influence and learn from each other.

Social activities

Join your colleagues for the weekly get-together on Fridays after work. Or maybe you would like to join some of the many excursions or events organized by the employees themselves? Examples are horseback riding, concerts or sports, movie, poker, board game and quiz nights. Opera encourages social initiatives, and we try our best to make all new employees from out of town feel welcome and take full advantage of what both Linköping and Göteborg have to offer.
