State of the Mobile Web report

Every month, Opera conducts a definitive analysis of the key trends affecting the mobile Web worldwide. We publish these findings as the State of the Mobile Web report. Each report provides the most frequently visited sites, key data metrics from Opera Mini and a snapshot of a specific trend chosen by the analysis team that month. Information contained in this report is based on aggregated information obtained from Opera Mini servers. These analytics give us unparalleled insight into how people use the mobile Web and how it evolves month after month.

Statistics from the State of the Mobile Web report illustrate that there is only one, true, full Web. Social-networking sites, such as Facebook, MySpace, Orkut and vKontakte drive substantial traffic over the Opera Mini servers and continue to be adopted by mobile users just as they have been by non-mobile Internet users. Regardless of country, language or specific site, the general growth in popularity of social-networking sites is reflected in mobile statistics. These ongoing trends indicate that the most popular content accessed on the mobile Web mirrors that accessed elsewhere, which is in part made possible by Opera's support for and Opera Mini's contribution to the accessibility of One Web for everyone.
