Despite vacation season, we’re bringing another set of changes and updates to personal news:

* Add source even if you don’t know exact RSS URL. Just enter page address and if RSS is found, you’ll have option to add it. For example:http://enduro-mtb.com/en/ Note. you need to provide full URL with http://.
* Better feedback when adding custom sources.
* Added little animation, can you find it?
* Option to preview source before adding.
* Proper sorting and grouping of elements in “My sources” section.
* Removal of “CUSTOM SOURCE” badge from manually added RSSes. It’s too eye catchy and draws attention away from a title.
* Show less recommendations.

Known issues:
* Preview button breaks navigation between sources, reload helps.

Take the build for a test ride and tell us what do you think about it.

  • Leonardo Gomes

    Thanks for the release.

    • You’re welcome ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy.

  • Leonardo Gomes

Custom news grouped by domain is very nice. Also it being alphabetically ordered.

  • Zin

Disappointing, since this is a new dev version i was expecting a new feature (there are plenty to be added back) ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • xirit64

I has been said 100 times already that IRC is not coming back.

      • Zin

maybe the same could be said about RSS but it came back, also, i wasnt talking only about the features i want but all the others that were left out. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • xirit64

Not the same, in your case they ‘ve repeatedly said no to you a thousand times, contrary to RSS which was open.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Well, I think that RSS is more useful than IRC nowadays.

I guess many would like to get track of new entries on their favorite pages but I don’t see many people using or even knowing what IRC is.

    • Agreed such as option to open bookmarks with left click – Opera is hard work to use if you have a laptop without a mouse (touch pads do not have middle click!). Also genuine pinned tabs. Slimjet (another Chrome based browser) has both of these, I don’t know why such simple features seem impossible for Opera developers?

  • Eugene B.

What version of Chromium is this version based on?

    • L33t4opera

      Hi Eugene, it’s 54.0.2805.0.

      • Eugene B.

        Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • No 64bit Windows version? ๐Ÿ™

    • Nerdebeu

it is even worse: no mention of his absence.

      • RafaellaG

It is about time that Operas developers get the 64-bit windows build operational – regularly… permanently!
How long do they try it now … ? ๐Ÿ™

        • Leonardo Gomes

I guess that while it’s something experimental, we will have to deal with it having problems.

          • DaZung

It would be nice if at least Opera detailed a bit what the issues are with 64bit windows. Why is is so problematic if linux has stable x64bit builds?

          • Leonardo Gomes

            Building it, most probably?

          • Leonardo Gomes

Different OSs, different issues. Just because the 64 bits version for linux works fine doesn’t mean that the same version for Windows will also work.

          • Nerdebeu

A competitor, which I will not name, with the same engine, still manages to get out of experimental 64-bit builds for each snapshot. It’s natural to wonder.

          • Leonardo Gomes

            Different infrastructure. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Nerdebeu

Indeed, it seems that the competitor is much smaller ….

          • Leonardo Gomes

            I’m not talking about that.

          • Nerdebeu

You must specify the type of infrastructure so ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • Leonardo Gomes

Different infrastructure means different issues. It’s not just a matter of being bigger or smaller.

          • Nerdebeu

tsss, tsss, tsss. Listen… 1) From the time where you start something, you estimate that that you can do it 2) the engine is the same as the competitor 3) The size of the two infrastructures is eminently important. Other than I certainly see the relevance of the thing 4) nobody understand the lack of 64-bits version for some time. Before, there was at least an excuse, a small word, now nothing. 5) This is not because we love something that we should always look for excuses.

        • Nerdebeu

          Have you thought about praying?

    • ะฎะปะธั

To be fair, this particular version is so bad that it makes the latest x64 build 40.0.2296.0 look like a stable version ๐Ÿ™‚ Scrolling in speed-dial is painfully slow. But yeah, I’d like them to bring them back asap.

  • Matheus Bombonato

Some keys are not working on the url field. They activate the internal shortcuts. Like / * – +

    • x a

      Confirmed on Opera/Linux.

    • NoName

Confirmed. When i press . (dot), I loose focus in the address bar.
Very hard to enter domain names!

This bug is likely linked to having singlekey shortcuts enabled.

    • Mike

Address bar has been broke for a few builds… things like ctrl+w don’t close a tab when you first focus on the address bar. Gets rather annoying after a while!

      • NoName

That bug has actually been fixed!
Might have been what broke it as well ๐Ÿ™

        • Mike

Guess I should update to this one then ๐Ÿ˜€

Does it also fix the bug where only part of the url is shown? Eg on an autocomplete for an IP I just see the last 2 octets

        • Mike

Ok, updated. Some parts are fixed, some bits still annoyingly broken.

Ctrl+backspace goes “up a level” on the site your own instead of deleting the last “word”.
Pressing the down arrow key for the first time highlights the next suggestion but internally it doesn’t so when you press enter you go somewhere else

    • Matheus Bombonato

This bug needs an urgent fix. I just can’t type my main websites and projects. ๐Ÿ™

      • x a

Like @disqus_3M0bVH90cs:disqus hinted at, you can temporarily disable advances keyboard shortcuts (opera://settings/?search=advanced%20keyboard) to work around this bug.

        • Matheus Bombonato

          oh… thanks! It worked!

  • L33t4opera

Hi, congrats on the first Opera developer 41 ๐Ÿ˜‰
Is the new scheme for the link to the change log is going to stay like "...changelog-opera-xx", or it will be changed again to "...changelog-xx", or any other scheme for the further builds?

    Two new flags:
    – opera:flags#enable-canvas-2d-dynamic-rendering-mode-switching
Enables dynamic graphics rendering pipeline switching in the 2D canvas to optimize performance based on the types of draw operations being invoked.

    – opera:flags/#document-passive-event-listeners
Forces touchstart and touchmove event listeners on document level targets (which haven't requested otherwise) to be treated as passive.

  • Cobalt
    • x a

Just use opera:// prefix in your personal bookmarks to internal pages!

The chrome:// prefix is obviously and reasonably supported for compatibility reasons.

    • xirit64

That’s chrome, not… Google Chrome as explained https://www.nngroup.com/articles/browser-and-gui-chrome/
But I guess your… newest bug is good for trolling reasons, as usual.

  • Trevor Gough

    Nice! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • NimeshT

Hide Suggestions (for Speed Dial page) is broken, it keeps adding additional Suggestion sections.

For the RSS Reader: Are your guys serious to call it a reader? It does not even display the whole article and opens the article link, unlike how other RSS readers behave (both online and offline). I like to read the RSS news feed article directly in the reader, mark it as read/unread, star it etc.

    • Regarding RSS. Please note that it’s not a typical RSS reader. Feature is called personal news in other newsreader tuned to include sources that you find interesting. Obviously our catalog, even though pretty big, can’t include sources that would satisfy different users. For example I’m missing sites about mountain biking. That’s why we decided to add RSS support. Now you can have a mixture of stuff from our catalog along with things that are important for you. If you’re after typical RSS reader, there are some existing and popular solutions than can meet your need. Said that it worth noting that feature is never finished. It’s just shipped. This means personal news can evolve in future to something else.

  • Kamen Minkov

    DNAWIZ-2886 please?

  • Nekomajin43

Guys, really… Not less reccomendations. The ability to turn it off!

  • Marko Koivuniemi

Damn you! Just when I moved to my main profile from Developer to Beta – now I must move it back. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Not yet! You can’t type dots or commas in the address field without it losing focus.

      • Marko Koivuniemi

Actually I just noticed that I haven’t needed to type dots or commas entire day. I have my usual ~150 tabs open and new ones comes using google or clicking links ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Kamen Minkov

Typing dot or comma in the address field causes loss of focus (and opens “Find in page” as if the page is focussed).

    • Confirmed (Win7 32 bits).

      • Kornelia

Hi Guys, thanks for reporting. I’m reporting this so it will be fixed asap.

    • Paweล‚

      +1, Linux x64.
The only way to get ‘.’ in address field is to type it in text editor, then copy-paste. This basically renders webbrowers useless… I mean I can’t even type URL so bookmarks only… this reminds me Opera statement on bookmarks a bit after new Opera release – just a friendly reminder ๐Ÿ™‚

      [Edit]
Reference to previous comment: http://disq.us/p/1aqwime .

    • tarkus

Confirmed – this is a ‘lethal’ bug and a reason to stop using O dev! Please correct it ASAP, otherwise I have to switch to beta or stable with the risk to lose some of my profile contents!

      • Nekomajin43

“The intention is to showcase what we are working on and be open about upcoming changes to web technologies. It is not intended for daily browsing. It is provided for web developers (as the name suggests) and enthusiasts who are not afraid of some bumps in the road.

The developer stream is what is often referred to, in development terms, as bleeding-edge or the unstable streams. Referring to the risk of suddenly getting cut by an unpolished developing feature.”

    • Eugene B.

Try to disable additional keyboard shortcuts in settings and check if the problem still exists.

    • So annoying, you can’t type any URL.

  • Cobalt

Does not work the Esc key while moving bookmarks on the bookmarks bar

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start dragging any bookmark on the bookmarks bar
    2. Hold down the left mouse button while moving a bookmark, then press the Esc button

Actual result: After pressing the Esc key, the tab remains in the position in which the mouse cursor is

Expected result: The bookmark should return to its original position, as it happens in Chrome

    DNAWIZ-5406

    • xirit64

That’s insignificant. Optimally 2 different input devices shouldn’t be used at the same time, so returning the bookmark with the mouse to the original position is sufficient and the right way.

      • x a

I’ve got to disagree on that one: It seems to be established behavior on many desktop environments to allow drag actions be cancelled pressing the escape key: Windows and GNOME (and its derivatives) for sure.

        • xirit64

For sure in desktop environments as you said but in this particular case imo it’s not that important and logical. You don’ type a web address with the keyboard and instead of pressing Enter you search for the “go” icon in the address bar with the mouse, do you? ๐Ÿ™‚

          • NoName

A lot of nonsavvy people does exactly that.

          • xirit64

๐Ÿ™‚ And in the original case a nonsavvy would just let the mouse button off and re-place the bookmark icon to another place and not think “while having my finger on my mouse not letting the bookmark go, I should look for Esc with my other hand ๐Ÿ™‚

          • NoName

Indeed. But if we only catered to nonsavvy people, UX would be horrible ๐Ÿ˜€

            But back to the point.
The only reason we use Esc on the keyboard while doing an action with the mouse, is because the mouse is limited when it comes to buttons. Esc is a well known way of canceling an ongoing event.

  • Matheus Bitencourt

How can I have notifications for RSS Feed?

    • Leonardo Gomes

      I don’t think you can.

      • Matheus Bitencourt

So what, RSS with no notifications is so pointless… Furthermore, RSS appears to be an hidden feature. No address bar icon to add it and its access is hidden in the News menu. I can’t even configure the update frequency… I hope this is a pre-alpha initial approach of this feature.
I’ll stick with the RSS extension for Opera anyway. Way more useful.

    • I miss them too. Stay tuned.

  • Cobalt

Please add the URL “opera://restart” like in Chrome.

    • Why would you like to use that?

      • Kamen Minkov

To be able to easily restart the browser maybe…

        • It’s not that it’s hard to restart Opera right now ๐Ÿ™‚ One advantage I see with chrome:restart is that afterwards Chrome reopens tabs. Is that what you’re after?

          • Cobalt

            Yes!

          • By default Opera restores session after restart. So you don’t need special tricks to “refresh browser” and keep your things. You can change the configuration in: Preferences -> Basic -> On startup.

      • xirit64

        “Because Chrome has it”…

  • Windsong

Is this build 64 bit ?

  • Ariane Lu

How about show personal rss feeds in speed dial?

    • Leonardo Gomes

You mean in Start Page? Would be nice.
      Maybe something for the future.

    • Kornelia

We’re still working on this feature. But you can expect more changes to come.

  • graycivil

If I write the URL in the address bar, at the point I can’t write more. More precisely I can’t write numbers or special characters (like dot) into the address bar. This problem doesn’t affect any other browsers and Opera versions. Can anybody confirm this?

    • Kornelia

It’s confirmed and already fixed internally. We’ll make an update with this fix as soon as possible. Sorry for inconvenience.

      • graycivil

        Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Leonardo Gomes

As an workaround you can disable ‘advanced keyboard shortcuts’ in settings.

          • Paranam Kid

            Thanks Leonardo, that works.

    • Paranam Kid

Yes, I have it too, and have made a separate post.

  • pokemiu

Is there a way to change the search engine of the second search bar in the address bar ?

    • Kornelia

This search engine will be changed ones you’ll change default search engine in the browser.

      • pokemiu

        Thank you for your answer.
So there is no plan to implement this (set a different engine than the default one for the second bar) ?

        • Kornelia

I don’t know anything about such plans but I can always report a suggestion for making it ๐Ÿ™‚

          • pokemiu

            Thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

        • L33t4opera

Hi, you can enter a keyword, press the spacebar, enter the search string, and press Enter ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Hindu Papanreu

Still have “missing extension icons” bug. Could anyone please fix it? I’m going to leave use of Opera just because of this little and stupid bug…

    • Kornelia

What bug do you mean? Which icons are missing?

      • Hindu Papanreu

Dear Kornelia. This is 2nd time (maybe 3rd I don’t remember) I explain it to you. Here is the picture.

        http://1.1m.yt/qMzEMEN.png

When I start opera from jump list with “New Private Window” option, I only see this screen (on the left). Since Opera 36 or a few versions before (I’m not sure) this bug occured and still exists. Even in Opera 41…

        • Kornelia

Ok, sorry. I did not recall it. Yes, it’s a bug and I already forwarded it in our bug system. Seems it does not work only when you start opera in private window.. I will keep an eye on this now and make sure it will be fixed soon.

          • Hindu Papanreu

Dear Kornelia, thank you very much. Hope to hear good news about that soon.

            Thank you again.

          • Tratsing

This has happened to me also. Thank you very much for dealing with this bug. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Cobalt

            Me too =)

      • Hindu Papanreu

        When I start opera from jump list with “New Private Window” option, I see these screenshots as below;
        Opera 39 (Stable – Since 36 I think): http://1.1m.yt/eV-yixp.png
        Opera 41 (Developer): http://4.1m.yt/a-rNeU6.png

The same for the Opera 40 Beta.

  • Cobalt

Kornelia, what about the bug DNAWIZ-3892?

  • Fil Day

Cent Browser returned “Disable DirectWrite” flag!!!
v2.0.10.57 โ€ข Added back disabling Direct Write
Can you do the same??? Please…

    • Leonardo Gomes

I would say it may be too risky and would only delay the inevitable.
I think it’s better to try to fix the issues with Direct write, if the case.

  • Cobalt
  • redfox

Will there be a chance to implement the VPN feature into a Windows XP compatible Opera version (36?) too ?

    • Leonardo Gomes

      I don’t think so.

  • Paranam Kid

WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON?????????
    1. I CANNOT TYPE A URL IN THE ADDRESS BOX ANYMORE
    2. CERTAIN PAGES ON A WEBSITE ARE BLOCKED SOMEHOW. IF I GO TO SUCH A PAGE IT SHOWS BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY I GET A 404 ERROR PAGE.
    THIS SINCE UPDATE 41.0.2315.0.

PLEASE FIX A.S.A.P. BECAUSE THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING.

    • Kamen Minkov

This is a dev version. Usually having it mostly stable is mostly by luck.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Please don’t shout.

    • xirit64

First take a good breath. Then read this: http://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/streams/
Then go to a beta blog post and download and install the beta version.

      • Nerdebeu

I think that Dev versions are not for (Paranam) Kid(s).

    • Leonardo Gomes

Regarding number 1, read the various comments about it.

Don’t forget that you are using an alpha version and bugs are expected. If you can’t deal with them, use a stable version.

Regarding number 2, you will have to provide more information.

      And again, don’t shout.

      • Paranam Kid

Sorry for the shouting, won’t do it again.

      • Paranam Kid

        Regarding point 2:
Opera Dev opens & keeps open this page: https://theintercept.com/2016/08/09/as-temer-weakens-sanders-denounces-brazils-impeachment-as-undemocratic-calls-for-new-elections/
But Opera Dev opens then immediately closes this page:
        https://theintercept.com/2016/08/08/dems-tactic-of-accusing-adversaries-of-kremlin-ties-and-russia-sympathies-has-long-history-in-us/

This is new because till yesterday Opera Dev never spontaneously closed any pages, including any of this publication (The Intercept).

Once again, my apologies for shouting.

        • Leonardo Gomes

          Accepted.

And that page opens without you have done anything? That’s strange.

If you use any extension, check if one of them is not the culprit. If not, i would check for malware, although it doesn’t look like a malware page.

          • Paranam Kid

I did not change anything to the browser. I checked all the extensions, none is the culprit. The page opens fine in Chrome & in IE.
I checked for malware on my PC – all clear.

          • Leonardo Gomes

What do you mean by ‘open fine in Chrome and IE’?

            So the page should open?

          • Leonardo Gomes

            What about the adblocker?

          • Paranam Kid

No, unchecking it still gives the same error. I have never had any problems with any of this website’s pages while using Opera Dev, until yesterday.

And by opening fine in Chrome & IE I mean that those 2 browsers open the page without closing it immediately again.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Second link gives me a 404 page and it didn’t close.

          • Paranam Kid

What I meant was that the original page, i.e. the page with the article on it, is closed, then I a 404 page. The 404 page does not close with me either, that is correct.

          • Leonardo Gomes

None of the links you provided closes here.

          • Paranam Kid

You just said yourself you get a 404 page too, which is my issue. Or are you telling me now you don’t get a 404 page anymore & the article stays displayed without any problem?

          • Leonardo Gomes

i just took a while to understand that the page doesn’t really close. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Paranam Kid

You say it is a chromium issue. Does that mean it Opera will not fix it inside its browser?

          • Leonardo Gomes

I guess that depending on the cause and on possible solutions, we may need to wait for a Chromium fix.

          • Paranam Kid

OK. I just find it remarkable that with the latest release of Opera Dev this issue cropped up. If it is due to Chromium then I guess I’ll have to wait for that & meanwhile use a workaround such as using another browser for pages that OD returns a 404 error for.

          • Leonardo Gomes

Maybe you can try checking if change the user agent makes any difference.

          • Leonardo Gomes

And it’s probably an issue with Chromium 54, that’s why it came out with developer 41.

          • Paranam Kid

If what you say is correct, then eventually the same problem will arise with Chrome. I currently have version 52 which does not return a 404 error page, but 2 versions further it will do the same as OD. Correct?

          • Leonardo Gomes

Chrome already has the problem, at least on its developer version.
That’s why i’m figuring out that this may be a Chromium issue.

          • Paranam Kid

OK Leonardo, I understand & will await developments. Thanks for bearing with me, for your patience & for accepting my apologies.

          • Vux777

yes, Canary behaves the same as Opera Dev (gives 404)
You can report new issue on crbug

          • Paranam Kid

            Thank you for that.

          • Leonardo Gomes

Same behaviour on Chrome so probably a Chromium issue.

    • jedy123

If you are using Developer as your main browser, that’s your first mistake. Opera Developer is for people to test new features and report bugs/issues. What’s ‘REALLY ANNOYING’ is you are someone who clearly doesn’t get this.

      • Paranam Kid

I know this is what is said but I disagree. You can only test it properly if you do use it as you main browser, otherwise it is just a toy for use now & then.

    • Kornelia

Most probably you’re having troubles while typing dot. We had such issue and fixed it already internally so it should be fine now.

      • Paranam Kid

No, that still is not fixed. I still have to keep the “enable advanced keyboard shortcuts” unchecked, like Leonardo advised someone else here.

    • TwistedAndy

I have the same problem. I can’t type the 0, 1, 2 digits and some cyrillic letters after few seconds after tab opening. Please fix it as soon as possible.

Based on some comments I would say it should be fixed in the next release.

      • xirit64

“As soon as possible” does not apply to developer streams as they are not intended for default/daily browsing http://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/streams/ so just be patient.

Can’t open my Router’s config page any more. Edge and IE 11 still works fine. It’s the usual 192.168.1.1 address. I get this instead: http://i.imgur.com/MdVlp6i.png
    Win 10 x64 fully updated.

    • Leonardo Gomes

Is turbo or VPN enabled by chance?

      • mb

Nah, it’s all off. Even disabled it in Settings.

    • SQL

Oh boy oh boy.. I hope this is not what i think it is.

Chromium 53 removed support for HTTP/0.9… That shouldn’t be used at all these days, i think it’s been obsoleted in like 1996 by HTTP 1.0..

If your router uses HTTP/0.9 still then may whatever god-like being have mercy on you.

It could very well be the reason. I don’t know if O41 uses Chromium 53 though, since i no longer have any Opera browser installed, but i suppose it does.

      • mb

The thing is I can reach the page if I “bypass” the login page and go straight to the settings page.

Any way to check what HTTP version it uses?

        • SQL

Don’t know if this will work given that you can’t even load the page https://ma.ttias.be/view-http-spdy-http2-protocol-google-chrome/

One way that should always work is by using telnet with port 80 and upon connecting doing GET / HTTP/0.9, GET / HTTP/1.0 and GET / HTTP/1.1. One thing to keep in mind is that each GET requires a new telnet connection. Not really the easiest of things to do, on linux it’d be easier.

Then there’s always Wireshark if you’re familiar / willing to try it. https://ask.wireshark.org/questions/15372/what-http-version-is-my-browser-running

          • mb

It’s HTTP/1.1. Chrome also doesn’t want to open the login page :/

          • SQL

You should report a Chromium bug about that, they can (hopefully) help figure out the issue and / or fix it.

https://crbug.com/ <— you can report it here.

RSS feeds are not fetched any more on my MacOS. I tried to restart Opera or refresh the news page, or even refresh without cache the feeds page.
If I remove the rss, and then I add it again, news articles appear, but no further fetches happen.

    • Leonardo Gomes

I noticed it on Windows too.

      • Thanks guys we’ll look into this. Would you mind sharing RSS URL that causes the problem?

        • Leonardo Gomes

It seems to happen with any RSS source.

        • Leonardo Gomes

For example, the post about the security update for XP/Vista didn’t show up in this blog RSS feed (yet).

        • patkoscsaba

It seems to happen with all my RSS feeds.
The only feed that is updating for me is Gizmodo, and Top 50. But those are added from predefined sources.

I notice, you released a new version of Opera 36 for WinXP/Vista yesterday (v36.0.2130.80 up from .75). What’s the changelog โ€“ which presumptive security fix does the patch contain?

    • redfox

Unfortunately no VPN, which is the only feature I miss in an Opera version compatible with WinXP.

Will the Opera history and changelogs continue to be updated or is there another place where the feature history can be located?

Sorry, but I went back to the last beta. This developer version has too many problems that the previously version did not have. For example it seems to be much slower in loading pages or reacting on keyboard or mouse actions. If I type in an URL, that begins with digits, like 320…, then Opera jumps to another opened tab instead of waiting for the complete URL or offer it to me (from my speed dials or bookmarks). When I type in an URL, that contains a hyphen (“-“), Opera ignores it and zooms out instead. I’m waiting for the next version.

    • L33t4opera

Hi Ralf, “It’s confirmed and already fixed internally. We’ll make an update with this fix as soon as possible” – the source link.

The simple work around of this problem for now, is to disable the advanced keyboard shortcuts.

      • Ralf Brinkmann

Yes, thank you. Another thing is, that this version of Opera doesn’t always remember the position of a webpage. For example I have scrolled the page http://www.queen-mary-2.de/webcam/ a little down, so that the grey menu bar “Startseite” and so on) is on top and I can see all three webcams. After reloading the page it is scrolled up again to the top of the page.

  • zoli62

The good news is, that the Opera Developer browser at startup on linux platform no longer requires a password.

When I launch Opera Developer 41.0.2315.0 with Speed Dial suggestions turned off, I can’t add a site to Speed Dial (I press “+” button but nothing happens). With suggestions turned on, everything works fine.
    P. S.: The same thing happens in Opera Beta 40.0.2308.11 too.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Happens here too.

  • EASYINPLAY

    opera developer x64bit 40.0.2296.0 can’t recognition flashplayer 23

  • GhorX

41.0.2315.0 – Opera catches keystrokes in url box, so I cannot use some keys for writing. For example numkey 8. Normal key 8 while I have switched keyboard layout to CZ is unusable too.

    • Leonardo Gomes

Try disabling ‘advanced keyboard short-cuts’ for now.

  • alessandro sanfilippo

    hello .

    chromecast dont work…

  • Peter Hagelslag

Opera technology Review 41 stopped working completely at my brand new iMac 27″, completely maxed out (4 GHz i7 processor, 64 GB RAM, 4 GB GPU) and running OS X version 10.11.6 (the latest).

Yesterday it worked, now it’s not opening any website at all (the wheel keeps spinning, spinning, spinning).

The normal Opera browser works, as do Safari (both normal and developer) and Firefox.

Just FYI. I’m back to using browsers that actually WORK.

    • vertebranes

      yes confirmed, partly!
Here it’s only Operas VPN, that won’t work today at all (since about 4-5 h, yesterday not in use).
      => No connection, every server-option; win7+10, ubuntu.
With an older version of Ope-dev (40.0.2306.0) there are no connection-problems.
      what’s that?!
The VPN is still very tricky to use.
But no connection is new + a noGo!

    • DataZByteS

FYI this is a developer version and breakage is expected.

  • Ghirahim

VPN doesn’t work anymore. Since yesterday. What happened?

Hi Ralf, it’s known issue, you can read about it in the official announcement.
The change log, and the announcement.

  • Grรฉgory Dubois

Great job for the RSS Personal News… But I have 2 questions :
โ€ข Why can’t we see those just below the bookmarks, in the Speed Dial page, when we choose to show them together. Only the ‘browser default News streams’ are shown in this case !?
โ€ข And also why can’t we manage ‘Rss News streams’ on the Speed Dial settings bar appearing on the right when needed ?

I hope you’ll change this… and thank you for the job you’ve already made.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      1) There is no (personal) news on Start Page (yet?).

      2) Because it’s ‘start page settings’ and not ‘news feed settings’? ๐Ÿ™‚

  • good to know this news from Opera

  • Personal news is now more better and I love it. I wanted to run more than two accounts of gmail over VPN its possible now with opera portable. Thanks Opera team. ๐Ÿ™‚
