Hi Aneta, thanks for the update and fixes 😉
"hes" = "has" - i will remove it

    Changelog link doesn’t work.

    • Aneta Reluga

I published the changelog a few seconds before the actual posting, but maybe it didn’t ‘click in’ right away. Works now without any changes from my side.

      • Dark Magician

I was too early then. 😀

      Yep same here.

Can you both indicate your operating systems? Also, does it happen with a clean profile too? I have tried to reproduce using Win7 with: clean profile, pretty dirty profile and profile with weird extensions (with internal adblocking on too) with no results.
Please note though that the area you refer to is not actually an image but a video, which works for me both when embedded and when detached.

Windows 10 64 bit. At home and at work, different PC. At work I have Opera 40 dev version with clean profile without problem. Problem solved if I add store.steampowered.com to whitelist.

          • Aneta Reluga

Thanks, I could reproduce on Win10. Will report. DNA-55493

Make synchronization search engines and extensions.((((

VPN still not working. The VPN icon is orange and it tries to connect. It says “connecting…”. My Location is Germany. The virtual location says “Optimal location”

    • Kornelia

Can you change Optimal location to some other one and check if it’s working?

      • jho

The strange think is that I do not have any entries. Only “optimal location”

        • Aneta Reluga

Which antivirus software do you use? Also, is it a standalone home machine or a corporate environment? Thanks.

          • jho

Ok, that could be a thing I need to test. I am usind NOD32 Antivirus 9 and Comodo Firewall. Home machine. Win 7 64bit. I will try to deactivate them and see if it is working then.

NOD32 scans ssl connection via an own certificate. it causes some problems for several people. I will check that out and post an answer here.

          • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. A similar issue existed for BitDefender, please see http://disq.us/p/18yoau1 – maybe similar customization regarding SSL would work for you (I hope so, at least).

          • jho

It is Eset NOD32 v9 related. They introduced a new ssl certificate scanning method. The scanner blocked the VPN certificats somehow.

There is a popup in Opera what says that sth with the certificate is wrong. I cannot remember the correct text.

I solved it in NOD32 like this:

            1. changed the scanning rule for Opera from automatic to interactiv

            2. activate VPN and select ignore scanning for the certifcates. Popup is showing.

            3. After VPN is running and you got your opera certs (4 I got), you can set back the rule for Opera to automatic. Now for the next Opera update, the certificates should be known.

If it is not working anymore I have to do it again.

Quite annoying method of NOD32 I have to say. In the past an almost silent no problem making scanner.

          • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. In general it is good for antivirus software to be zealous, even at the risk of being overzealous.

          • João Gonçalves

Where exactly do I change the scanning rule for Opera In NOD32 settings? I can’t seem to find it.

          • jho

hi Joäo: you have to go to “Settings” –> advanced Settings (bottom right corner of the windows) –> Web & Email –> SSL/TLS

          • João Gonçalves

            Thank you. I will try.

Did anyone manage to clear browsing data without getting a crash?

    • Kornelia

      Sounds weird. What operating system?

      • Nerdebeu

Same problem with standalone version with Windows 10 x64. Crash everytime I want clear browsing. (No problem with the installed and last version of Opera Dev x64 )

        • Aneta Reluga

I am trying to reproduce the issue on Win10 x64 with no results, regardless of the installation type (I tested all three, and also tried various combinations of data to be cleared along with the timeframe). Can you please provide info when exactly the crash occurred, so that I can at least try to look for it on the crash server? Also, I’m not asking for full IP for security reasons, but if you could disclose last two parts of IP, this might help too. Thanks in advance.

          • Nerdebeu

So, it’s when I try to clean: downloads history, cache, autofill and third party service (for the rest I manually do it). I open the history panel (from SD) and try to clean these data. Regardless of the dates of erasing, Opera crashes.

Last 2 parts of my IP : 89.76

EDIT: I found a workaround : If I uncheck third party services, no crash.

            (Sorry for my English)

          • Aneta Reluga

Thanks a lot for your help. Based on your info I’ll try to dig more (because I tried with third services data checked and unchecked too and both worked for me) – and maybe we’ll find out what is going on.

          • Nerdebeu

Opera is sometimes strange. I have often weird things with the Beta version and almost never with the dev versions…

          • Aneta Reluga

Just to notify that the issue is identified and in our database now. Thanks for your help!

          • MiniKiss

You may try also clear browsing data in private mode, not only in “normal” mode to try to get a crash.
