Hi All!

This is the last developer release – and the last release in general – we’ve got for you this year, and so, maybe it’s time for a short summary for 2015:

  • We’ve released 90 builds in total…
  • …of which, 40 were developer builds…
  • …and also 21 stable builds and 29 beta builds;
  • We made it to 36 developer version (from 28 exactly a year ago);
  • We fixed numerous issues, introduced new ones along with new features, and then fixed them again;
  • We changed quite a lot, and some of the changes were made possible owing to our community eager to help us, report bugs and suggest improvements. Thanks guys!

Back to the release, though. As you will notice when looking at the changelog, we have fixed a number of issues, dealt with crashes (thanks a lot, Shion!) and introduced a few improvements. We also plan to introduce some Speed Dial adjustment changes soon – stay tuned for the first developer build in 2016!

Here is the selected highlight for today’s release – the one you’ve requested for quite some time:

Show the sync button only when needed

Currently, the sync button is not useful for majority of the time. If you don’t use synchronization at all, it just wastes your UI space. So we decided to make some changes. It’s still being implemented, so when something won’t work as expected, don’t panic, just report 😉

General rules:
  • Sync button is always visible if #hide-sync-login-button flag is disabled (in all states)
  • Sync button is hidden two weeks after flag was enabled for the first time and button is in grey state
  • Sync button is hidden in red button state, when error is caused by network problem
  • Sync button is hidden in green button state
  • Sync button is visible when sync login popup is displayed and at least 10 seconds after popup is closed

Have a good time and a Happy New Year with our developer release. 🙂

  • nanana1

Thanks, Kornelia, for this last Opera developer 36.0.2079.0 update in 2015 !

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks a lot @nanana1 – best wishes to you as well! And congratulations on being the first commenter again, after some time 😉

  • xirit64

There’s a new background color when showing the contents of Speed Dial’s folders and “add site” tile is now tranparent, nice 🙂

    • Aneta Reluga

Work in progress… Do you like it? 🙂

      • xirit64

I like the transparency of “add site” in SD, about the other one I’m not sure of it yet 🙂 if the folder contains more tiles than a row can fit, the 2nd row that is added for the plus sign makes the area a bit “more in your face” than I would prefer, due to the less transparency with the new idea. But I wouldn’t call it a game-breaker, yet 🙂

        • xirit64

Also I have to add that choosing the same background color makes more sense design-wise nevertheless 🙂
          And happy holidays! 😀

          • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. There’ll be more changes in the next iteration which didn’t make it into today’s release, and some things are not quite as intended, but nevertheless your opinion (and other users’ opinions of course) matters 🙂

      • dzek

nothing has changed for me – why? AB tests or something?

        • Vux777

          enable this
          opera://flags/#web-ui-navigation-sidepanel

      • Kamen Minkov

It’d be nice if smaller folders (these with 2-3 tiles inside) expand in place (and not to the full width of the screen).

      • Herr Pietrus

I like it. Don’t dare to spoil it…

  • beBoss

    Two annoying issues:
    – When you add page with heart button to SD it adds it to the top instead of the bottom of the list with SDs
    – Second annoying thing with SD when you try to move a site SD from the top to the bottom with dragging doesn’t scroll to the bottom, you have to leave it, to scroll more and then to drag it again.

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. The first one was known, the second one is now reported.

  • Vux777

    -nice trick avoiding resampling
instead of scale, now SD tiles just move a little up
but you screwed shadows in that process 😛 (or it looks that way)

-navigation side panel is now dimmed on other internal pages as it is on SD,
but it’s still noticeably different (that stripe)
and transition process between pages is awful

    …and win10 skin is wtf

    • beBoss

win10 is cool to me 🙂

      • Vux777

        looks like Edge

        • beBoss

          Then don’t use it!

          • muratservan

            lol

    • Wando Schneider

I liked! It’s a native look and feel. Isn’t that a prerogative from Opera since the beginning? 😉

      • Vux777

I hate those thin symbols/images/whatever graphics
on toolbar buttons and close tab button (X)

        • xirit64

I hate Windows 10 in general 🙂 Oh and I should better not tell about Windows 8…

      • Herr Pietrus

Being hideous? No, it never was an Opera’s goal, even if for some time they tried to…

    • RafaellaG

But you can still resize the bookmark page over the navigation side panel – and then only resize it back, when you deactivate (and reactivate) it in flags.

And the bookmarks tree extends below the bookmarks for ca. 1,5 cm.

Hope they fix this too… …sometime after Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

      • Vux777

        yea, that’s probably a bug
right bookmarks panel shouldn’t even go over bookmarks tree (darker area)
        I guess

    • Herr Pietrus

That’s because the whole Win 10 is wtf, and Edge’s skin and icons are HUGE WTF.

In other words – that’s only typical modern MS hideousness…

      • Vux777

I actually like win10 look and feel
just those couple of overblown buttons look weird

  • Kurt Zon

Thank you Opera team for an eventful 2015. Really looking forward to 2016. In the meantime I wish you all a very merry Xmas and the the very best for 2016..

    • Mikolaj Boc

Thanks, have a merry Xmas too!

  • Matt Humphrey

Guys, will you ever planning to make adding default search engine possible? Thanks.

  • Wando Schneider

Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) and Happy New Year 2016 to the Team and everyone who contribute with the Browser. I think that everyone will agree with me on this: 2016 will be a great year full of good stuff. I’ll stay tuned 😉

  • ktxgio

Merry Christmas and happy new year!
    Thanks for new dev release
Aren’t there, in next days, new Opera 34 release with new Chrome 47.0.2526.106 fixes?

  • Nekomajin43

You did all the trouble insted of a simple switch in the settings… You are hopeless.

Anyway, I am looking forward for the simplified main menu. And I like the transparent + button on the speed dial. However, now it looks bad with the label. You should remove it. And please, no jumping effect. The opacity change was much better.

The tooltips on the speed dial are also good, but the one about the themes is pointing into the nothing. How about a settings icon at the end of the navbar instead of the context menu?

    • Herr Pietrus

Yes, the label under plus should be removed.
BTW – shouldn’t the sync button be visible in green or red state? If someone use sync, we can assume that the button doesn’t bother him… can’t we?

    • taneli

Hehe, indeed, they could just put those things as simple on/off options behind the “power user” or “advanced settings”, where normal users would probably never go anyways, and if they did, it’d be easy for them too to decide for themselves.

  • LoverOfLife

Just beautiful! Thank you guys & girls for your efforts, i wish you all the best, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🙂

  • http://genius-lab.org/ Serghei Bulah

New Win 10 skin looks very bad (inactive tabs) when dark background color is selected in Win settings. Look at the screen: http://goo.gl/s5HQOB.

Better have a default background color for Win 10 skin, no matter what is set in the options.

    • beBoss

I’m with dark windows 10 theme I have no problem,
      http://s2.postimg.org/iiwqgxhy1/opera_win10_theme.png

      • http://genius-lab.org/ Serghei Bulah

That’s strange. How about selecting this color (for example)?
        http://goo.gl/NGH84r

Does you opera’s title bar change the color after that?

      • Vux777

he’s talking about win10 skin flag

        • beBoss

I know what he means…. And the photo is from windows 10 opera skin…

          • Vux777

you have different settings in windows
            under personalizations>>colors
probably OFF for “show colors on title bar…”

    • Leonardo Gomes

Hmm, why do you think it’s bad? I don’t see a problem in the picture.

      • http://genius-lab.org/ Serghei Bulah

Well, the close button is black on inactive tabs. I think there should be a background on inactive tabs like on native theme. Not just placing inactive tabs directly on title bar. Another way is to use default grey background on title bar – like Edge does. So no matter what you choose in Personalization settings the background is always grey and black close buttons and red hover effect on them look good (in contrast to grey background).

        • Mikolaj Boc

Hi! We wanted to keep the selected color on the top bar, could colorizing the internal page favicons and close buttons to a contrasting color work for you?

          • http://genius-lab.org/ Serghei Bulah

I think there are several options.

            1) Force default background on title bar for Win 10 theme (not recommended)
            2) Add an option to apply alternate icon set to Win 10 theme.
            3) Add an option to force default light silver background for title bar on Win 10 theme.

I’d prefer having 2 and 3. I have dark background color selected for title bars, but I really like how default silver background looks in Opera’s Win 10 theme, it’s smooth and cool.

            Thank you.

          • Vux777

maybe just to bring back background for inactive tabs like it was before

the rest of the title bar can respect window title bar color

          • http://genius-lab.org/ Serghei Bulah

Yes. I’ve already suggested this in this thread. Do not know if Opera’s team want this as they tend to create more Win 10 looking interface.

    • Mikolaj Boc

We’ll consider making a setting for this.

  • led9ru

I changed the time and date of my computer at 1 December.I launched this new opera 36, turn on flag against the Sync icon.I close opera, set the current time, and start the opera again. And??

Sync icon not disappears! its still there!

It is a mockery of the users of Opera with this icon!

Why do not respect the wishes of the user does not see this Sync-shit?

Did mocking flag! happy new year you too!!

    • tarkus

You’re right – the icon does not disappear. But it’s a small problem the devs must solve – why are you so angry about it? After all the browser works fine!
PS. One question: why the extension icons context menu does not display a choice of hiding them and we have to go to the extensions tab?

    • Wando Schneider

Take it easy. Work in Progress 😉

    • RafaellaG

      as the general rules states:
“Sync button is hidden two weeks after flag was enabled for the first time and button is in grey state”

…but I also think it should hide at once. I don’t like to wait two weeks for this to happen

      • taneli

He “cheated” the 2 weeks by changing system time, and that didn’t work, not sure if a bug or some different kind of implementation.
Anyways, the 2 weeks waiting period is just silly, why not just have a simple checkbox in the (power)options, have it shown as default, and if you find the option to disable it, you will surely find a the same place again to enable it again if you need it.

To me that 2 week waiting period doesn’t make any sense either when considering a normal user though :

        • RafaellaG

please not again in the power options^^

          • taneli

Well they do want to simplify things, so apparently a good place to hide those options would be… in the power user options :p (i don’t care where it is, as long as it’s just a simple on or of option), but keeping it “simplified” works if you put it behind the power user options (normal users probably won’t venture there anyways.)

          • Hylian Ticipated

Opera devs like to troll everyone.

        • Leonardo Gomes

          Maybe it’s cheat proof. 😀

Btw, i also think that two weeks is a long time.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Maybe it’s cheat proof. 😀

  • Olli

First half of the year was pretty bad but in the last months you really caught up and did some good stuff!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

    • Kornelia

Thanks and see you next year!

  • escruting

Please, please, make the Win10 theme optional. Don’t force this on us.

    • Cryio

      On W10 theme … on what ?

      • Wando Schneider

        opera://flags/#windows-10-skin

      • escruting

On the Opera Win10 users, of course.

    • Nekomajin43

Can you post a screenshot? I still use Win7, but I am curious.

      • Vux777

here is the difference in window mode
        http://prntscr.com/9feprg

        • Herr Pietrus

no, no the second vivaldi or edge… it’s so ugly, like the whole win10.. 🙁 At least don’t enable that on Win 7, but it will be better if you remove that “modern” and “beautiful” theme….

          • Mikolaj Boc

Well, sure we won’t enable Windows 10 theme on Windows 7…

          • Herr Pietrus

            Good to hear that 🙂

        • Nekomajin43

          Thanks!

      • escruting

I dont use developer, i just saw the pics the other users posted.

    • RafaellaG

personally I like the “bold” (old) arrows better, so I agree with you

      • escruting

No problem, if they make it an option, everyone can be happy with what they like.

        • RafaellaG

I hope it remains an option

          • escruting

“Remains” is the key word here. For some time it will be an option behind a flag. But they will make it permanent after some months. Or atleast if we take into account how they’ve dealed with these kind of things before.

  • Ralf Brinkmann

A big thank you from my eyes for fixing the DPI-/zoom bug!

  • beBoss

Is there a problem with Facebook’s friends online status? For me doesn’t show all friends who are online (the green circle). Checked with FF and Vivaldi and some of my friends are online, but with opera doesn’t show green circle!

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Seems to be working here.

  • Herr Pietrus

all internal pages adapted to the new, great looking SD – good sign!
now I can move to dev for daily use 😛
    great!

And I wish you at least 15% market share in 2016. Now you finally deserve that 😛

    • Ralf Brinkmann

I don’t know what you all talk about since the last version. My speed dials look like always. Nothing adapted.

      • muratservan

        opera://flags/?search=navi#web-ui-navigation-sidepanel

        • Ralf Brinkmann

Now I have a sidepanel, that I don’t need. Ok. And? The speed dials have still the same ugly faces like before and not the wonderful little actual screenshots of the page like the older versions of Opera. And the big “+” is still there.

          • LoverOfLife

You can change SD thumbnails from heart button and you’ll have screenshot of the page

          • Ralf Brinkmann

Ok, can you tell me, how I can change all my collected speed dials in the heart menu with one click back to the old screen shots? I mean actual screen shots, so that I can see at a glance whether the page still exists?

          • LoverOfLife

I don’t know how to do that, but i can tell you that right now, i’m pretty satisfied with what Opera brings to me, to my needs, i really like it and enjoy the way it looks, the way it feels

          • Ralf Brinkmann

            Ok, thank you.

      • Herr Pietrus

I meant that internal pages with news and downloads have in the latest build new sidepanel. In the first 36 developer they had old, ugly toolbar on the bottom.

    • muratservan

Opera always deserved great market share but you know people…

  • RafaellaG

    – opera:flags#simplified-omenu (Windows)
Enables simplifications in the Opera’s main menu.

I see little to no difference other than some rearrangements

    • Vux777

no more bookmarks under O menu

      • RafaellaG

look below speeddial and news …still there

…or have I misunderstood something? O-Menu is the button with the Opera-symbol an the “Menu”, right?

        • Vux777

yes, you are right, I overlooked that
that menu item was link before, to internal bookmarks manager
and now gives bookmarks in sub-menus, while old one is removed
          http://prntscr.com/9fh1l2

  • Dave-H

There seems to have been an issue with HTML5 video for at least the last few builds, which hasn’t been corrected. I noticed it when I updated the videos on one of my sites to HTML5.
You can see the problem on the demo video here http://easyhtml5video.com/
The video runs OK when the page loads and the controls disappear as they should do, and reappear if you move the cursor onto the window as they should, but when you remove the cursor the controls stay permanently displayed instead of vanishing as they should.
    Windows XP SP3 32bit.
Anyone confirm this? The same is happening on my site videos, all my other browsers are OK.

    • Vux777

I’m on win10 x64 and the controls never go away

    • RafaellaG

      I can confirm this. I’m on win10 x64 (too).

When you invoke the page /video and do nothing, the controls disappear after 1-2 sec. If you then move the mouse over the video they reappear – but don’t disappear again after moving the mouse away and wait some time

      • Dave-H

Thanks guys, it’s not just me then!
Should I file it as a bug, or will it being mentioned here be enough?

        • Leonardo Gomes

I think it’s better to file a bug report.

          • Dave-H

            Now done, DNA-47476.

          • Kornelia

Thanks for the report, I’ll redirect it too the right people.

          • Dave-H

            Thanks Kornelia.
Happy Christmas and New Year to you all!

  • Marek

Please, add option to “open tab at the end”.

  • catup

will you stay opera developer using chromium 48 in 2015?

    • Leonardo Gomes

Well, once this is the last (public) build then i guess the answer is yes.

      • Mikolaj Boc

Although we will jump to the new intake with twice the usual force in the New Year 🙂

  • jho

I wanted to give my end year feedback about Opera. 🙂
I used Opera 12 and the new Opera side by side. The old Opera was my absolute favourite but I have to admit that 12 was only usable with a good scriptblocker.

I moved to Opera with v32 when the sidebar was introduced. Really nice. Now I good my Notes back, Site Settings and extension manager(really cool). Thanks to V7 extensions and others.

I have a lot of RSS feeds and the existing extension is more than enough.

I think you spent to much time on the bookmark thing. But you moved to the good direction so never mind.

I am also looking forward to Vivaldi but you dont need to fear the competition.

    • Aneta Reluga

Thank you for your feedback. Happy you like Opera 🙂

    • Zin

“I am also looking forward to Vivaldi but you dont need to fear the competition.”

      So wrong…..

      • jho

You should explain your opinion in more detail. “So wrong…” as an answer helps nobody.

        • Hylian Ticipated

Here, I’ll help. Based on Vivaldi’s latest build description:

One of the things that we understand at Vivaldi is that every user is different, this is why we like to provide a range of options, rather than just try and force everyone to work the same way. In settings (Alt+p or ⌘,) you will find the following new options:

It’s everything Opera was and should be.

          • Leonardo Gomes

And why Opera should make the same mistakes again? To again be led to become something unable to be mantained?

          • Hylian Ticipated

lol are you joking? Vivaldi is a highly-compatible browser. It’s essentially Opera 12 of the new generation. Meanwhile I still have the Sync button in my faced even when I Enabled to hide it in the Flags. lol.

          • Leonardo Gomes

Nope, i’m not. Have given users lots of options and possibilities was one of the reasons for Opera Presto to have become a software kinda difficult to mantain and with lots of issues.

About Vivaldi, for me it looks like something aimed in those Opera Presto nostalgic ones. Let’s see if they will go beyond that.

  • jedy123

Like the look of the Speed Dial and agree with comments I’ve seen that the navbar should be centred on the left. The only thing I don’t like is the animation as you hover over speed dials (moves up slightly). The dials should remain static when hovering over.

I do think the deliberating on the sync button could be solved by allowing us to customise the menubar ourselves.

Other than that, Opera is turning into a a really great browser!

    • Aneta Reluga

      Thanks!

  • Ralf Brinkmann

Since some versions I have problems with Opera as default browser after each update to a new version. In the Opera settings the actual version is set to standard browser, but if I click any link in an external program, for example in a newsletter in my e-mail program, a message appears, that Opera is not working anymore and that it should be restartet. I have to call the settings for standard programs in my Windows 10×64 and have to confirm again, that Opera is the standard browser (it’s already registered as standard). Then I have to close and restart Opera, before everything works as usual. Is this my fault?

    • LoverOfLife

      1. Run as administrator Opera and then make it default.
      2. Right click on desktop->Personalization, find “Default app settings” and choose your default email and browser.
      I hope this helps 🙂

      • Ralf Brinkmann

Ok, I’ll try that out. Thank you.

  • Shion

Sidebar. Opera has it. It takes 3 seconds for it to show contents when opened. Even through there already are separate processes for each sidebar extension. Can’t you somehow optimize that? Firefox plugin OmniSidebar opens up pretty much instantly and it also has an option to keep loaded panel when sidebar is closed, which is very awesome.

And can you do something about animations in internal opera pages like bookmarks and settings? They are long, laggy and very annoying. I wish there would be a way to turn them off. Waste of time and resources.

    • BK

Thanks for your feedback. Can you give us some details on your PC?
there is a setting to turn off animation in options.

      • Vux777

that option in settings applies only to speed dial…bookmark animations are still there

      • Shion

My PC is MSI a notebook. It has crappy AMD APU – A10-5750M (4×2,5GHz), which still should be enough to run a browser properly. 16Gb of RAM. And I’ve got RAMdrive up for temp files and browser cache. Opera itself is on SSD.

And as Vux777 said: “that option in settings applies only to speed dial…bookmark animations are still there”. And they rise up CPU load from 5 to 50% just for dragging one of the bookmarks around. If optimizing animation is impossible, at least limit the fps of those animations. And bookmarks themselves jumping around is kinda wrong.

Also, while I have your attention: opera://about/thanks this page has major fps issues during the animation.

The reason might be the AMD drivers. Latest GPU-killing Crimson ones simply didn’t install on my notebook (BSOD>reboot, thank god for that), and 15.7.1, which I have installed now, are considered “beta”.

        • BK

Thanks for details. We will look into this.

  • Itchy

Show the sync button only when needed. Thank you guys! Much needed this!

  • Nekomajin43

Guys, if you are really serious with this mute tab from context menu, at least attach icons the the menu items. I asked you this months ago in connection with other context menus. It is way easier to find an item by icons than text labels.

    • Herr Pietrus

to be honest i don’t understand why they removed mute ALL button…

      • BK

We want to have clean UI.
That’s why also we are removing sync Icon.

        • Herr Pietrus

I know, I know… but… perhaps as an option? It was interesting feature. And although I agree that we don’t need the sync icon (perhaps it should appear on the bar only when an error occurs), muting the whole browser was quite interesting. Are there some extensions working in the same way?

        • Nekomajin43

So why do you have the start page icon on the left? For me the mute tabs button is more important, because I never use the start page button. So, one more need to be satisfied… Have fun finding the magic solution! 🙂

          • BK

Thanks, we will be looking for it. You might be expecting more updates to come soon 🙂

          • Nekomajin43

            YAY! 🙂

there si a bug when opening bookmarks bar folder
when navigating with mouse away from it, icon stays active
    http://prntscr.com/9fugq7

  • Ralf Brinkmann

Opera always creates a subcirectory “exe” in the download folder when I download installations files with the file extension *.exe”. How can I switch this off. And I really want to switch it off!

    • Vux777

are you sure it’s not some extension that doing this?

      • Ralf Brinkmann

Yes, I am. Which extension should do that? I have not installed any new extension the last months. And I have just tried out a download with all extensions disabled. The same result. Try yourself for example on http://www.dxo.com/de/fotografie/dxo-optics-pro/dxo-optics-pro-win-confirmation-de.

        • Vux777

          yea, it created exe folder
          but this started today
Opera never before separated downloads by extensions, or I didn’t noticed
          I actually like that
it would be cool if all files could be separated by meme types

          • Ralf Brinkmann

If that was really intent it would be nice if I could turn it off.

          • Herr Pietrus

which one started to do that? Last developer?
if so, please, disable that, I sort downloaded files on my own.

          • Herr Pietrus

Damn, now I see! Indeed, last developer started to behave in such stupid way. I can create separate folder IF I NEED. I can also open windows explorer or other Free Commander and choose different sorting…

    • Leonardo Gomes

      It’s a bug afaik.

    • xirit64

hmm this doesn’t sound so bad, I sort myself the files in the download folder like that (Exe, Pdf, Zip, Jpg etc) so I think I would like it 😛

  • http://www.catopuma.de/ Alexander Sibert

I liked the 3D fast view of Apple Safari favorites before years ago. Maybe Opera could make such nice view for fast access favorites. Then i have currently a nice Background in Opera but the fast access sites overlap this background. Maybe add a opacity transparency as default and if you go with mouse cursor (MouseHover) then the icons are in full color?

      • Ralf Brinkmann

        Who is JKL?

Or if you mean the three keyboard keys, nothing happens. Should it? Even in my other browsers nothing happens.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/max1cp?feature=mhum Maxim

jkl are the standard controls for youtube player. I guess it might not work on other flash videos. But try on youtube.

          • Ralf Brinkmann

Yes, that actually works. In Youtube.

  • Kamen Minkov

Still getting a duplicate of the current tab (instead of a new tab) when doing a gesture down. Can this be dealt with?

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Can’t reproduce here.

      Do you use any extensions?

      • Kamen Minkov

Yes, I do – usually uBlock and Imagus are active. The problem is that I don’t know how it is reproducible – just very often when I gesture down, a clone of the current tab is opened (instead of a new tab) and a new tab only opens if I do a gesture down again.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Disabling the extensions make any difference?

      • mies

To reproduce you should click on any speeddial and do gesture down while page is still loading. This happens because “gesture down” changes behaviour if mouse cursor points at link – in such case it works as “middle mouse button click” and opens link in new tab.

The same could happen if the page loaded quickly and you start gesture down while pointing at page header.

It is quite annoying behaviour when you quickly open new tabs. In Opera 12 I always turned off second behaviour of “gesture down” because of this ambiguity.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Even doing that i wasn’t able to reproduce the problem here.

the opera icon in the windows 10 start menu is totally white.

    • Aneta Reluga

Same after restart? Also, what is your version, please? We have fixed a similar issue lately, so either the icon got cached and did not refresh yet or we have a regression.

      • BK

Same here. Persistent white dummy icon on main app bar, Win 10.

        • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. After investigation, might but not necessarily is related to the previous fixed one, so I logged a separate issue.

  • laffin_boy

I started using Opera with ver 3.64 (yes, that dates me) and stayed with 12.12 when Opera adopted Chromium. I bought every new release w/o checking it out since there was never any doubt that I was going to stick w/ O. It was always the most configurable and therefore the most powerful browser.

My 12.12 ver has been getting pretty long in the tooth in recent months and I began trying out other (allegedly advanced) browsers – including Vivaldi – but they *all* had serious drawbacks. And then, for the hell of it, I tried out the bleeding edge developer ver of Opera about 2 mos ago.

I was blown away! This is the most stable, trouble-free ver of Opera i’ve **ever** used. Period. All pages are rendered correctly, it has configurable KB shortcuts and it just plain works!!! Sure, it’s got a ways to go before it has the power that the original O had but it’s clearly on it’s way.

So I just want to thank the O developers for a great job and apologize for my lack of faith in the project.

    A Grateful (RE)new user

    • Kamen Minkov

Seems like you’ve never used Opera < 15 to its full potential.

      • Hylian Ticipated

3 years from Opera 15 to Opera 36 and it still has trouble offering the simplest and most requested features. 2 years of development was figuring out which Start Page to use. Back and forth mish-mashing and there’s complaints for a reason.

  • Denyer

Still can’t seem to get the tabs on the left…

    • Leonardo Gomes

There is no such feature in Opera.

      • Kamen Minkov

        Maybe that’s the point…

        • Denyer

Thankyou 🙂 I was starting to think no-one here remembers O12…. Perhaps they’re all over at Vivaldi’s house?

I’m sorry to report that duplicate bookmarks & speed dials inspection DOES NOT work. Today I performed a clean Opera developer installation (complete uninstallation of the browser + all data) and, after syncing, I ended up with 20 or 30 ‘other speed dials’, some of them empty others obsolete & none of them the last one I use in stable, and with equally multiple bookmarks. The default Opera developer speed dial remained the plain one of the first installation.

PS For how long do you hold speed dial data? I found 6 months old speed dials that I have changed & deleted – but not the one I use now. Furthermore, I tried to delete some of them and they popped up again the next time I launched Opera developer!

    • Aneta Reluga

      Thanks for the report.

    • BK

Hi Tarkus. On first read, it looks that you are using multiple instances of Opera, some of them from time to time being synchronized.
      Is that the case?
The fix we are introducing now supposed to remove duplicated entries from sync server via developer build after you turn on synchronization and keep it runing for a while.

      • tarkus

I’m using Opera stable as my default browser. I have Opera developer on the same computer (Win 8.1, 64 bit). My Opera developer was synced months ago and, after that, I canceled syncing. I have also synced Opera stable on a laptop with Vista, 32 bit some 3 months ago and then I have, also, canceled syncing. The purpose was to use Opera developer for testing and Opera stable on the move. On both occasions – by turning sync on – I had some similar issues which I solved and, since syncing was off on both installations, I assumed I would have no problems. And that was true: my Opera stable was OK with syncing enabled (the other two installations were sync-disabled). Today I decided to use Opera developer as default, because of the speed dial. So, I completely uninstalled it (+ all data) and performed a clean installation. Then I enabled syncing: I observed multiple speed dials and multiple bookmarks, decided not to use it as default and canceled sync. The most serious problem was the backfire to my stable installation: I counted 15-17 copies of everything, bookmarks & ‘other speed dials’, and – the worst of all – my default speed dial was flooded with tiles some of which were also flooded by bookmarks (links). I managed to get back to normal by erasing the multiple entries one by one after deciding which were the most recent. I know I get tedious by describing, but this is exactly what happened, in case you need to know and you didn’t get bored reading. Now the thing is: Do I turn syncing on (on my default installation of course since the other two installations are de-synced and will stay that way) or everything will be messed up again? In other words: to sync or not to sync? That’s the question. Thanks for your time!

        • Aneta Reluga

Thanks a lot for your explanation too. We will have to thoroughly investigate your case, and at least I don’t have a good quick response “yes or no” at the moment. I can only add that I’m sorry for your troubles and hope they can be fixed soon.

          • tarkus

Thanks, things are OK now – I appreciate the interest & the response!

  • tarkus

Update: Trying to sync in Opera development was the worst thing I have ever made! Bookmarks & Speed dial in the stable version are all messed-up with at least ten times copies of everything. Speed dial now takes up two screens and I have to see how to get back to my usual order – let alone that I don’t know what are the new and what the old speed dial tiles! God help me!

    • Aneta Reluga

Unfortunately I’m no God 🙁 nevertheless I would like to help. But in order to do so, I need to ask a few questions:
      1) Which Opera versions are you using? I’m asking about all instances you have ever used and synced, including mobile versions.
      2) On which machines / OSes did you ever sync? Again, I’m asking about types (e.g. OSX ver X, Android ver Y, Windows Z etc.)

      • tarkus

You cannot help! I’m sorting everything now, and it’s going to take me at least 4 hours of full work to get back to normal (there is always the possibility of loosing something because I have to determine which are the newest folders). Anyway, my system is win 8.1, 64 bit and I have both versions (stable & developer) in the SAME computer. Previously (3 months ago) I had synced to Opera stable on a VISTA 32 bit laptop. Today I was trying to import everything to developer, because I planned to use it as default (because of the speed dial). Now, to tell you the truth, I’m disabling sync for good – certainly I cannot suffer the same tribulations again! As of today I’m working with back-ups exclusively!

PS We are not talking about double, triple or even quadruple bookmark entries & speed dial tiles (including contents of the tiles) but 10 to 20 copies of everything!

        • Aneta Reluga

Various installations indeed are treated as unique, but according to what you’ve said, there are too many instances of other speed dials in comparison to the installation types you have used. I’m pushing your reports for investigation.

  • hspdion

One request with these (& future) new builds: Please, please keep the #vibrancy-in-window-frame flag so users can disable the vibrancy effect in Yosemite & El Capitan if they wish.

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks; could you please say why? Performance, visual effect or yet another reason?

    • Arjan van Leeuwen

Do you want to enable it in Opera specifically? If not, you can disable this in System Preferences as well (Accessibility -> Reduce Transparency). If yes, please answer to @anet_qa:disqus below 🙂

      • hspdion

        Hi Arjan,

Yes I’m talking about in Opera specifically. I’m aware of the system-wide “Reduce Transparency” option which will turn off the vibrancy effect throughout all applications.

I think the vibrancy effect Apple introduced is okay in certain apps, but extremely distracting in others. One category of apps I find it very distracting in is web browsers. As such I would like the per-app toggle setting for it to remain in Opera.

  • Flossmaster

Using Opera Link I’ve restored my settings on a fresh installation, but my old Speed Dial is on the bookmarks page under ‘Other Speed Dials’
Any idea how to restore it to the Speed Dial page proper?

    • Leonardo Gomes

Drag and drop into the speed dial folder.

      • Flossmaster

Tried that, the old folder doesn’t want to move

        • Leonardo Gomes

The folder with the device name? That one can’t be moved afaik, you need to move/copy what is inside them.

There’s a bug with https://hangouts.google.com/ when you try to go up fast with middle button(scroll button) and to go up (not scrolling) it stops, and the whole page/tab is like unresponsive, can click nothing and a refresh doesn’t fix the issue.

Opera keeps crashing when notification center is disabled (Windows disables for no reason and does not let me enable it.) When will this be fixed?

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Which notification center do you mean? The one from Windows 10?

      • muratservan

        Yes.

        • Ralf Brinkmann

Not here. I can switch the info center on or off, nothing happens. W10x64. If Windows itself disables the info center / notification center, then something is wrong on your system and I would repair or reinstall it.

          • muratservan

No Windows itself disables it. I am not sure Opera also crashes when we manually disable it. I have this issue since august and still having on a new clean install (latest build/fully updated). I am not using registery editors/cleaners like Advanced System Care or Ccleaner.
I opened a new private tab (so I could use without any extension) but it happened again. They said they are aware of this problem but I am wondering if they are working on this or not.

    Hi Team,
Thank you for the best browser I’ve ever had. I sometimes wander away from it to see other browsers. But I keep coming back, each time having verified Opera is the best for me. Wesołych Świąt and a Happy New Year to everybody! 🙂

    • Cryio

The Speed Dial is their saving grace.

      • Herr Pietrus

Build in gestures too. And some other stuff… Although I must use Chrome Extension to have such basic feature like bookmarks menu on the main bar… yes, I’m still using Opera. Version 28, but fortunately soon it will change thanks to the new, great SD in 36 😛

        • Hanny Nanny

Bookmarks menu on the main bar. Firefox has it. Qupzilla has it. Otter has it. Why do I stick with Opera?

  • Abdolahi

please add RSS support to opera !

  • tarkus

One more thing about synchronization: Today I repeated the procedure (complete uninstallation of the developer + data) and synced. The same thing: 10 times the bookmarks & the speed dials etc. What I observed this time was that after correcting the bookmarks, they assumed their initial status and all my changes were rejected. I suppose the new data was not saved by the server and the old one kept reloading!

    • Aneta Reluga

There were some issues at the time you’ve been synchronizing. Should be gone now.

In the meantime, could you please try to perform the bookmark cleanup directly on the syncing page ( https://sync.opera.com/web/ )? We hope it helps.

      • tarkus

Well…things seem to be OK this time. I reset (i.e deleted all syncing data from server) then synced my Opera developer and, nothing bad happened! I now have the correct bookmarks & speed dials. I suppose, now I’ll have to delete everything from my other installations and just sync. That’s good for one time but what will happen If I change something to one of my other installations? Should I repeat the process or your software will take changes into account and merge/replace/delete data according to the latest date they were modified?

Anyway, thanks! That certainly points towards the right direction and has already saved my day!

        • Aneta Reluga

We were doing our best to apply deduplication solutions that would cover as many use cases as possible (ideally all of them of course). No guarantee though, as syncing is highly dependent to so many factors. 🙁
I’m happy that it worked for you now – that’s optimistic.

  • William Y

Are there plans to integrate force touch features for Mac OSX, and a reading mode?
Also being able to change the speed dial search engine would be nice.

I have a suggestion to make, why not use rocker gestures for navigating tabs left and right instead of going backward and forward in one tab? I think it’s very anachronistic the way it is now and not really helpful, maybe it’s time for a revision of that?

    • bwat47

I always preferred the hold right click + scroll wheel up/down for this, I wish the new opera had that one

      • xirit64

I liked that too but since it’s not in the cards what I ‘ve described should help us a lot, and is even better since it doesn’t show previews with what it means, think about it.

  • tarkus

Dear devs, you have solved most of Opera’s problems, you have created new standards in looks, you have introduced a sleek, fast & powerful browser that is fun to use … and still, let new innovations/ideas/developments/suggestions aside, two absolutely basic things are missing: scrolling through tabs and tab stack. So, I wish you and all Opera’s friends a happy & prosperous new year and may 2016 brings to all us followers the solution to these long overdue issues (and not later than January 31st)! Best wishes to everybody!

    • Stanislav Stratil

Scrolling through tabs? I actually found better use for mouse wheel on tabs, and that is scrolling in big tab previews. I would prefer this feature to be added in a place of scrolling through tabs. But best solution would be, if we can optionally choose, what we want to use.

Tab stacking? Here, I agree with you.

      • bwat47

“Scrolling through tabs? I actually found better use for mouse wheel on tabs, and that is scrolling in big tab previews. I would prefer this feature to be added in a place of scrolling through tabs”

These things really don’t seem mutually exclusive to me… I’d imagine scrolling through tabs (if it were to ever be implemented) would work the same way as ctrl + tab does currently does, which cycles through tab previews…

        • Stanislav Stratil

They are completelly different, and they both use mouse wheel in the same way. It would be complicated to have both functions on the one mouse wheel.

This is what Im talking about:
He wants to scroll in section A, and I want to scroll in section B. http://imgur.com/OIQJvi7

  • Dave-H

I decided a couple of days ago to try the sync system for the first time, having saved my 12.17 Opera Link data as recommended before Link closed.
Unfortunately it’s causing a severe problem. A few seconds after I sign in with Opera Developer, the browser crashes. It then reopens and quickly crashes again a couple more times and then shuts permanently. The only way I can use it again is to open it and quickly sign out before it crashes, after which it works normally.
Are there known reasons for this happening?
I haven’t tried with a clean profile, but I don’t want to use that as a fix anyway as I don’t want to lose all my settings.

    • Dave-H

      Any input on this?
I’ve now determined that the “Bookmarks” file already in my profile is causing the problem. It is an import from 12.17 from some time ago. If I disable the file by renaming it and allow a new file to be created, the browser doesn’t crash on sync, and if I restore the original, it crashes again.
I could just start again from scratch with the synced bookmarks of course, but as we’re supposed to be testing a developer version, I think the cause of the crashing really needs to be determined.

      • Aneta Reluga

Thanks for your report. We’ll investigate this, just tell us please which OS are you using?

        • Dave-H

Sorry Aneta, I should have said. I’m using Opera Developer on Windows XP SP3 on a multi-boot system.

        • mies

I experienced the same problem on Windows 7 x64. Resolved the issue by removing in profiledataSync Data content. I believe the problem is connected somehow with bookmarks duplication, because I used both 12.17 Opera Link data and then also import of the same bookmarks from html file.

          • Dave-H

That does sound very much like the same scenario as with me, although in my case it’s the other way around, I am syncing data saved from Opera Link onto data already imported directly from Opera 12.17.
This would indeed have resulted in a huge number of duplications, but the system should surely be able to cope with that, either presenting them as duplicates or removing the duplicates, not crashing!

    • Aneta Reluga

Can you please try to ‘Undo delete’ on that folder and then try again? Thanks.

      • Igor Yermak

It seems like the bug solved itself, not entirely sure how but it’s possible to bookmark stuff again so I’m happy 🙂 thank you for your hard work!

Why i can’t see anymore direct download link in opera next and developer when downloading any file? Example http://i.imgsafe.org/b2dfa5d.jpg . URL should seems like somesite. com/filelocation/yourfile.exe. And do u can please make “recently closed” tabs list much expanded? It’s not very usefull with just 10 lines… make 20-30 lines in the list. And Happy New Year.

    • tarkus

      I totally agree with you!

    • Aneta Reluga

As for the direct download link – this is sort of more complicated. Basically, you are talking about redirect links which might be dynamically generated and/or temporary (e.g. valid for several minutes). There’s no good solution for this – redirecting link just seems more universal.
As for recently closed, well – yes, we have it reported, e.g. as DNA-46513 and a few more. It’s being evaluated.
And Happy New Year to you too!

Opera does not recognize HTML Videos neither Facebook nor on youtube! Despite reinstallation, HTML Files are not recognized!

    • Leonardo Gomes

Which OS? Html5 videos on Youtube works fine here on Windows 10.

Regarding html5 videos in Facebook, unfortunately they seem top be doing browser sniffing and sending only flash videos to Opera.

  • David_Gould

Any chance of fixing the Facebook bug where YouTube videos disappear if you maximise them?

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Which OS? Can you give us an example? I don’t have this problem here. W10x64

  • Michał Gołębiowski

I can’t have Opera Beta & Opera Developer open at the same time because the one opened later crashes almost instantly… 🙁 When I open it again, all tabs are gone and a completely empty start page is displayed. I have to remove the profile to make it work again.

    • Marko Koivuniemi

Just guessing because I cannot confirm this. Are those normal or portable installations? I think that maybe those are using same profile folder or something. Paths to profile folders can be checked via Help – About
I normally use just Developer version but sometimes accidentally open also Beta but no crashes here even if I use both browsers.

      • Michał Gołębiowski

Normal installations. Paths are /Users/mgol/Library/Application Support/com.operasoftware.OperaDeveloper & /Users/mgol/Library/Application Support/com.operasoftware.OperaNext so they are separate.

Also, this used to work correctly for the past few months and suddenly started crashing today.

      • Michał Gołębiowski

Normal ones. It happens for me from time to time so something is definitely broken but it’s not 100% reproducible.

  • A. R.

Tab stacking – please, it’s a much needed feature.

    • TomR1986

Yes! And Tab Preview (like Opera had it in their old version)!! So much neeed for that!!

      • Ralf Brinkmann

I have tab preview here. You can activate it in the settings => browser => user interface. Or what do you mean?

        • Olli

He means previews IN tabs, just like Opera 12 or Vivaldi have them (optionally).

        • TomR1986

What you mean is when you hover over the tab. What I mean is that the tab itself is a preview.

  • Jademarisa

    And a Menu Bar

    • http://www.facebook.com/mickrussom Mick Russom

Missing Menu Bar = horrible. . No option to show menu bar is STUPID. Big mistake opera. Taking options away. I’ve been using this thing since at least 3.63 and losing the menu bar is like the opera developers spitting in my face.

  • Jademarisa

I’ve just uninstalled Opera 34 because I didn’t use it, still waiting for improvements that makes it worth using it for me. Until Opera gets classic menu bar, real skins and a proper bookmarks vertical menu, I put it on stand-by

    • mies

      1) classic menu bar – useless, because all options are available anyway

      2) real skins – nice feature, but with lowest priority. Good default skin with customizable background is enough for now.

      3) proper bookmarks vertical menu – here it is “V7 Bookmarks” extension

      • shadow118

        2) A dark theme would be nice though

      • Per

Its stupid why they cant just enable the use of skins, its not like they have to spend time developing skins, people will do that themselves.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Well, there are things more important than skins that they have to deal with.

Also, they may not have to develop skins but they need to develop the code trhat would allow skins to be used; they would have to develop the code to allow skins to be uploaded on addons page; they would need to check those skins before make them available on addons page and so on.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mickrussom Mick Russom

Disgusting to imply menu bar is useless. Some people like menu bars. Ribbons and fake start menus are trash and stupid. Its like how do we make computers easier for stupid people? Not sure. Ribbons and fake one-size-fits-all menus are garbage. And developers who take away options from users are the lowest forms of life on earth.

    • http://www.facebook.com/mickrussom Mick Russom

Agree. No option to show menu bar is STUPID. Big mistake opera. Taking options away. I’ve been using this thing since at least 3.63 and losing the menu bar is like the opera developers spitting in my face.

  • Anderson Araujo

Why we can’t have native smoth scrolling? Why it can’t sync all installed extensions too like Chrome/FF? Why? Why?

    • SuperTommy

Smooth scrolling is being worked on by Chromium. https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=575

      • Stanislav Stratil

But this is just funny. We had native smooth scroll in opera like ten years ago, and now, in 2016, we must still wait on some chromium update… Why we cant have it now, if Vivaldi has it already?

        • Vux777

smooth scrolling in Chrome is hidden behind flag

you can enable that flag in Opera by adding
          –enable-smooth-scrolling

          to opera shortcut

Vivaldi is using that flag trough settings option
…but the work on smooth scrolling is not finished, so Opera probably decide not to implement it yet

          • bwat47

Looks like smooth scrolling work may actually be finished now, Issue 575 was marked fixed a few minutes ago and smooth scrolling is now enabled by default in Chromium 49: https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/forum/#!msg/chromium-dev/UhE1rxzhkkk/fxUQqTWRDQAJ

So perhaps we’ll see it within the next few versions 🙂

          • Vux777

I’m trying it right now in latest canary..it’s ON by default
must say, Edge smooth scrolling algorithm is way better
            doesn’t depend on page loading
            like on this page:
Chrome gets little jerky when loading disqus frame (and the main page)
but Edge scrolls without any problems
and stepping is too small in chrome :/

          • SuperTommy

Microsoft has always had incredible smooth scrolling. Better than all competitors, including Mozilla. Just perfect in my opinion.

          • bwat47

Imo safari on osx has better smooth scrolling tthan any of them including edge. But yeah, on windows edge’s is the best

          • xirit64

I really hope it will be optional though because as I’ve stated numerous times, smooth scrolling makes me dizzy because of the blur. It’s like scrolling with the middle mouse button pressed, who can handle that and wants it as default behavior? Baffles me every time.

          • Kev87

Same here. It also makes me dizzy and if I use smooth scrolling for some hours, I get a headache. I am happy actually that it is not implemented yet. So please give us an option to disable it once it will be implemented in opera.

          • Harry

            Agree completely.

  • Matt Humphrey

hey guys,is it possible if you guys add an undo button on the toolbar to reopen tabs just closed.

    • Ralf Brinkmann

      CTRL-Shift-T

    • Kev87

If you right click on a tab, the option to reopen the last closed tab is already shown. If you want to open tabs you have closed earlier than the last one, then you can do that with the tab cycling button in the upper right corner.

  • xirit64

So after connecting a faulty hard disk drive to the PC, having some crashes (BSODs) and removing some drive cables (and the faulty one), Opera reverted itself to the default settings, lost all of its extensions etc, although they are still there, listed in the appdataroaming path. Dang why were those files (Preferences and Local State presumably) affected anyway? Seems to me that the Chromium engine is far too easily breakable :/

  • Sławomir Szewczyk

Please support plug-in “Widevine” in Linux. Since Google Chrome and Vivaldi Opera can handle it as a product of mature, open to the users should also support it. This is needed watching VoD services (Netflix, etc.)

In practical terms, the flag: Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) Mac, Windows
The experiment is not available on your platform.
Enables support for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME). The Clear Key and Widevine key systems are included.
    #encrypted-media-extensions

    http://www.webupd8.org/2014/01/pipelight-brings-widevine-support-for.html

    • Arjan van Leeuwen

Although we can’t distribute / download Widevine automatically on Linux like we do on Mac and Windows, we can certainly support it if you’ve gotten it via some other means. Wait for updates 🙂

      • Sławomir Szewczyk

You can not install the plugin “Widevine” on Linux.
The plugin must be delivered together with the browser as it does in Chrome and Vivaldi.

  • Olli

Experiencing crashes on OS X. Steps to reproduce:

    1. Open one Opera window and open a website in the newly opened tab.
    2. Close the Window using the x button.
    3. Click on the Opera dock icon to open a new window – Opera crashes.

Sometimes, all extensions are disabled after such a crash, but not every time. I think, we already had this (or a very similar) bug twice in 2015 before this build, maybe you should finally get the faulty code sorted out.

  • WWW

Please, add option for auto-hide bookmarks bar in Opera

  • miki

When I finally will be able to import passwords from the old opera 12.17
    ????????????????????????????????????????????????

    • Leonardo Gomes

Aren’t they imported when you install Opera?

      • miki

There does not import and does not synchronize passwords

        • Leonardo Gomes

They aren’t imported even if you have Opera 12 installed? IIRC mine were but it was a while ago so things mat have changed.

  • SiMcarD

We need a new build. We’re abstaining 😀

  • http://alex0007.ru/ Алексей Привалов

Opera looks kinda ugly on Elemenary. Can you fix this gray tabs background-color?
    http://i.imgur.com/5sont5q.png

    • Kai Ockendorf

Yeah, the tabs are really hard to differentiate!! I mentioned it months ago, but maybe they can have a look at it again 🙂

    • http://alex0007.ru/ Алексей Привалов

3 months passed and still unfixed

  • Hanny Nanny

Obviously, the tab switching behavior has been improved. I just realized, that after closing a tab, the one to the right gets focus! Now opera is useable again for me.

    • Vux777

this depends opener parent tab, siblings and index of closed tab
there is no strict rule “switch to right tab (if existing) when I close tab”

  • Ralf Brinkmann

I have the same problem I had once before: On http://www.swr3.de on each reload the row with the moderator’s face and the last played songs collapses. I have to click on the little transistor radio symbol to see it again. When I open a new private window (CTRL-Shift-N) I don’t have this problem. The settings and all installed extensions are the same. What is the difference? I don’t find the mistake.

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Supplement: I have tried to delete the cache, the cookies, refused to accept cookies in the settings, made a “full reload” (CTRL-F5), closed Opera after all these things and started again – it didn’t help. Then I used “Reload all tabs” (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/reload-all-tabs/midkcinmplflbiflboepnahkboeonkam) and suddenly I had the old, wanted behaviour back. The row with the moderator’s face and the last played songs stay visible. I don’t know what this extension does better than Opera itself.

  • Robert

When a new build? Already unbearable to endure these hovering, you can not normally watch movies, listen to music, etc.
To be honest it finished 2015 as the final assembly disgusting and beta.

    • xirit64

LOL do you know that complaining by using such strong words about an alpha software that is not intended for daily work makes you look ridiculous?

      • Robert

And you probably can not read but I wrote that I had problems in the final (stable) version in beta.

        • xirit64

LOL you accuse me of not being able to read when you are not able to write properly in english, you wrote in the wrong section of the blog and you have everything mixed up in your head… “final (stable) version in beta”, ” it finished 2015 as the final assembly disgusting and beta.” … no further comments lol.

          • Robert

facepalm,Who cares what the topic is written (Dev, stable, beta) misrepresented the fact that developers will read and take your comments to me somehow anyway.

          • Leonardo Gomes

If you writing on a post about a developer build then it means that you are talking about that build.

Also, comments should be (always) about what is in the post you are commenting about.

There is no meaning in talking about stable version in a post about a developer build and vice-versa.

  • beBoss

Please add opera profiles like chrome

  • Vux777
  • Robert Riesebeck

nice… Ubuntu Sidebar is not showing anymore when hovering over, no more Support for html5 Videso (magine.tv) -_-

  • Michal Smrž

Installed 36, I like new features (keep ’em comin’!), but I am note able to get those coloured tabs to work. I’ve set those system colour tabs in Settings, but they are still grey no matter what (and I have changing W10 colour schemes, definitely not grey). What’s wrong?

    • Vux777

      sry, didn’t see other comments….

      • Michal Smrž

        Np

  • Øystein Espelund

    What about PDF viewer?
