This release is more an improvement-laden one. So, along with a few usability and stability fixes, it delivers:

Mute tab improvements

Added “Mute other tabs” and fixed the lack of context menu on pinned tab with media (thanks xirit64!).

Simple settings improvements

As per users’ amassed negative feedback, we have removed the ad-blocking section from the “Basic” settings.

Windows 10 improvements

This is another iteration of the frame color awareness feature on Windows 10. Now:
– the window frame got improved contrast;
– control menu items look better on active and hover;
– you can control the window frame look via the Personalization system controls;
– the changes are visible on all Windows 10 versions, not only Threshold 2.

Win10 new frame

Known issues

We have encountered a sudden regression in Linux builds – renderer crashes when trying to play .H264 video. We are working to fix it as soon as possible.

In this release, Chromium has been updated to 48.0.2564.10.

As you can see, no revolution here, but I sure hope you are still gonna like it!

    Thanks for releasing this build.

  • Vux777

    DNA-46650 Remove ad-blocking section

    that was quick

    • BK

      expect unexpected.. 😉

      • Vux777

        mmmkey

btw. you broke YT search button in this build

        • SuperTommy

          Working fine here.

        • Leonardo Gomes

It’s ok here on Windows 10.

    • LAMBDA471

What is this ad-blocking section anyways? I haven’t used Opera in a while and I missed on it. Is it a built-in ad-blocking or what?

      • Leonardo Gomes

It was kinda of a shortcut to and adblocker extension page.

        • LAMBDA471

Ah, I see, kinda useless IMO. 😀

  • http://veuillezparlapresente.com/ Loutre Perfide

On a 1080p display, the Close button of the 9th (or more) tab is overlapping with the Recently deleted button.

    • Aneta Reluga

On which OS? And, do you have a screenshot, because it works OK for several of us here and maybe we are missing something? Thanks.

      • http://veuillezparlapresente.com/ Loutre Perfide

        It’s gone after restarting.

        Windows 10 x64

        • Aneta Reluga

Thank you to you both; I have a certain suspicion then on this occurrence, yet to confirm.

      • http://golubev.by/ Andrew G.

I have almost the same problem. http://owely.com/01vFRDk

        1920×1080, win10 x64, not clean install.

    • Vux777

I noticed that too immediately after upgrade, but it was gone after restart

  • LcGuedes

I hated this update on “Added – Mute other tabs – and fixed the lack of context menu on pinned tab with media”. The previous build with an icon , was more intuitive and direct.

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks for your input. You obviously mean the build two updates ago, and yes, there are mixed opinions about that icon.

      • LcGuedes

        Dear Aneta.
You’re right. Just expressing myself with emotion and not with due reason. Excuse me. I see the dedication and competence of all staff of the Opera . I use Opera since 2000 and saw its entire evolution. So I am very grateful for this wonderful tool. Congratulations for the work

    • xirit64

If they could combine both of them that would be perfect. There was only a marginal area to bring up the context menu though, something had to be done and I’m sure they will think of the best way in the process 🙂

      • LcGuedes

I fully agree with you. A merge would be perfect. The Opera staff is phenomenal and our beloved browser. I know that all the changes are in the background, for something better to come.

  • xirit64

Gratz guys, I’m enjoying my time here whenever I can 🙂

  • L33t4opera

    New flags:
    – opera:flags#crash-monitoring-posix (Mac, Linux)
Enable monitoring of crashes in browser.

    – opera:flags#disable-gesture-requirement-for-media-playback
Disable user gesture requirement for playing media elements. Activating this will allow autoplay to work.

    – #disable-print-preview-simplify has been replaced with #enable-print-preview-simplify.

  • SQL

Trying to download 32 bit linux (regardless of rpm or deb) always results in your site offering 64-bit.. :p

    • xirit64

I suppose they always like “thinking ahead” 😛
Google to end 32-bit Linux support for Chrome in early March, 2016

      • Gustav Ekner

No, no! Don’t end the support for 32-bit too!

        • Aneta Reluga

Don’t worry. 🙂 This glitch has been fixed now, and you should be able to download correct 32-bit builds. Please try it out.

  • http://golubev.by/ Andrew G.

Good build! But icon are too close. http://owely.com/01vFRDk

    It’s very difficult to point&press.

    • SuperTommy

Does it happen after restarting Opera?

      • http://golubev.by/ Andrew G.

I don’t remember before or after. But I have solved the problem. I disable #frame-color-awareness and the icons are in right place now. http://owely.com/7jefPl

    • Mikolaj Boc

      You’re right, there’s a bug. Thanks.

  • Vlad Violenty

I think, need flags “Mute All Tabs near button Synh”

  • http://mustafahasturk.com Mustafa Hastürk

option to hide + button. How many times do we have to say that?

    • Druszlak

It’s not a wishlist. Developers can base some of their decisions on users feedback, but it won’t be 100%. It’d be a mess.

    • proxxy

it seems that developers doesn’t care so much about this simple “feature”. Also customizable mouse gestures.

      • Leonardo Gomes

I guess that they just don’t want to do the same mistakes again and end up turning Opera Blink’s code in something unsustainable like happened to Opera Presto.

    • Leonardo Gomes

Features aren’t added just because you asked for it one billion times, but because the developers consider the feature useful enough, helpful enough to worth the efforts to implement it.

Just because someone asks for a feature or a change doesnb’t mean that they will implement it. A request can be accepted or not.

I would like to have that option also, but it’s not top priority.

      • http://mustafahasturk.com Mustafa Hastürk

This is not quite feature, just respect of user’s choice

        • Leonardo Gomes

Well, we don’t know if the majority of users wants or even cares about it.
Also it’s not something that will make a big difference in everyday browsing for most users.

And there is no way they can give options to everything, to everyone because it could turn Opera into a mess. They need to choose very carefuly which options are worth being given.

          • http://mustafahasturk.com Mustafa Hastürk

You know very well how to speak but adding some choice into browser won’t hurt no one.

          • Leonardo Gomes

For sure but, as i said, those options need to be carefuly evaluated.

    • led9ru

if you start opera with this flag:

      opera.exe -private

      f**g sync icon disappear! 🙂
and Opera stop send all your url to sitecheck2.opera.com
Unfortunately icon on each tab will be one – gray hook.

  • dzek

what (TF!) is “simple settings” and how to access it?

it’s either the flag has no effect on anything for me since it was introduced or i am missing the whole point of this flag

    • SuperTommy

It’s a new section in Settings with most commonly used settings in one place. Should only need to access the Settings page to see it. If it’s not showing, then I don’t know.

      • dzek

nope, i dont see it. could you please post a screenshot or something?

    • Vux777

are you sure this is enabled?

      opera://flags/#simple-settings-page

  • Pavol

Hi Opera, would you please add an option that would allow users to customize the panes, so users can for example move the bookmark bar on the right side of the address pane? This will be really excellent. I missing this feature since Opera 12 🙁 Thank you

  • Cary Fries

Jeez…did you have to make the title bar non-transparent (!?) Not everyone is using Windows 10. It looks awful on Windows 10 with colored title bar enabled.

    • bwat47

” It looks awful on Windows 10 with colored title bar enabled”

Looks fine in windows 10 with colored titlebar enabled here… http://i.imgur.com/L64SZj0.png

      How does it look awful?

      • Cary Fries

It’s just simply grey, no matter which accent color I choose. Seems to be working for you. I’ll keep playing around.

        • bwat47

I actually noticed the same thing at first (frame being gray), but it started working properly after I restarted opera. I had assumed it was some kind of fluke, but perhaps there’s a bug.

          • Cary Fries

I just updated to the new build on my laptop, and it’s perfectly fine. I’ll have to try a fresh profile on my desktop. tnx.

        • Mikolaj Boc

Right click on desktop -> Personalise -> Colors -> Show color on Start, taskbar, etc. will make Opera adopt the system accent color. Otherwise Opera will use gray.

    • Mikolaj Boc

This feature should be working only on Windows 10. What system are you talking about?

      • Cary Fries

Windows 10 x64 TH1 with colored title bars enabled. I started with a fresh profile and it’s just fine now…thank you.

  • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

I can’t use Sync anymore with this snapshot. It was working like a charm before this latest update (the bookmarks got updated in both Dev and Stable versions in seconds, having both browsers open side to side), but now I get logged out of Sync every time I log in. Also the Advanced configuration button for Sync in settings is grayed out during the brief time that I remained logged in.

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Is this in Linux? I forgot your OS. Here in Windows 10×64 it works perfect. Maybe you should try out a new profile.

      • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

No, I’m on a 32-bit Windows installation. And I had made a fresh install of the previous snapshot, so the update was applied to a clean profile.

        • Aneta Reluga

We have tried to reproduce and our 32-bit Windows 8.1 works fine here, so the question is: which 32-bit OS is yours?

To help us, could you please launch Opera using the following parameters:

          launcher.exe –enable-logging –opera-sync-log

Then, on sync fail and auto-log-out (it would be nice if you could try syncing several times), please exit Opera and send us the log. The log will be located in your profile (the path can be found in opera:about), named opera.log

Also, you can please make a screenshot of the following page before exiting Opera: opera:sync-internals (only the first default tab)

You can report the issue via our bugwizard, adding the log as attachment (please let us know the DNA number here to make it quicker). Thanks a lot in advance!

          • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

            Hi Aneta!

Unfortunately I can’t reproduce it anymore –the issue seemed to solve itself when I reentered my password. I had done that before and it didn’t work for some reason, but yesterday it worked, and the sync works fine (I verified this by adding some bookmarks).

I want to clarify that I know the password was correct because I HAD logged in in the previous occasions, only to be logged out after a few minutes. The only difference I can think about is that in the previous attempts I had simply let the password manager autofill it in the login bubble, while this last time I signed out from the config page and then logged in manually.

There is also the matter of the greyed out “Advanced configuration” button. It’s enabled now. It was disabled before. It’s a weird thing.

            Thank you!

          • Aneta Reluga

Thank you too for your response – I’m glad that it is working for you now!

  • http://veuillezparlapresente.com/ Loutre Perfide

    On http://codecanyon.net/

If I click on the sub menu WordPress, it only display the list and don’t proceed to http://codecanyon.net/category/wordpress

On previous builds and on other browers, it should be opening the category page directly .

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Confirmed here for Windows 10×64. If I click on “WordPress”, the menu opens and I have to select an item to go on. In Chrome and Firefox I can directly open a page “WordPress”.

      • Aneta Reluga

Thanks to you both. I have reported the issue (internal DNA-46824 in case you are curious)

  • Ralf Brinkmann

Since the last version some pages open in a lower zoom level than 100 percent. For example if I close Opera and reopen it, this page here is shown in 75 percent and if I open one of the discussion items on https://forums.opera.com/categories/de-opera-for-windows in a new tab, this tab also opens in 75 percent. The same with Google Translate. I have to manually switch it to 100 percent every time. It does not store the value. I have already emptied the cache, but this didn’t help. The page zoom factor in the settings is 100 percent. Is this only on my computer or anybody else? W 10×64.

    • Aneta Reluga

Apparently it’s an issue with DPI setting set to more than 100%. Can you confirm please you have such high DPI? I’m about to investigate and [edit] logged it already to our database.

      • Ralf Brinkmann

I am not sure if I understand what you mean. My standard setting in the Opera settings is and was always 100%. But I have a 4k monitor now (3840 x 2160) and the standard settings for text, apps and other settings, that Windows installed, is 150%. I did not change it. Is that what you mean?

        • SuperTommy

Yes, your DPI setting is at 150%.

          • Ralf Brinkmann

Ah, ok, then I hope there is a chance that Opera can fix this little problem at some point.

          • Vux777

what number do you see under window.devicePixelRatio when you visit this page?
            http://quirksmode.org/m/tests/widthtest.html

on your DPI 150%, it should be 1.5 if you didn’t change browser zoom
if changed, browser zf. multiplies with OS zf. and page reports resulting zoom factor

          • Ralf Brinkmann

            Yes, it’s 1.5.

          • Aneta Reluga

I hope so too, but it seems it is random. I also tried with 4k and 150% OS DPI, and on exactly the same page, first visit provided too small page, but on first refresh and subsequent refreshes, I got the correct size. Anyway, as said, it’s reported already.

          • Ralf Brinkmann

            Thank you very much.

  • mb

So this UI issue just happened: http://puu.sh/lHMNq/119451545b.png

Couldn’t close the tab but once I opened a new tab everything went back to normal.

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks. We have identified the issue and it should be fixed soon.

  • _artem_

any ETA for x64 windows builds?

    • SuperTommy

      No.

  • _artem_

when you have many tabs open (not that many.. but when tab bar becomes full) -> http://prntscr.com/99vzeg
+ (new tab button) overlaps window buttons, and tab closing button (x) overlaps recent/opened tabs button

  • Gabriel Horten

    35.0.2064.0

Bug on typical desktop (W7Px64), all mouse-over events are “fired” after autoupdate to mentioned version, which behavior is correct on touchscreen device, not on KVM only system.

  • weqe

When drag&drop(selected text and image) between tabs will be working?

    • Aneta Reluga

Did it stop working for you? I’m unable to reproduce unless you mean something else than I do. On which OS are you using Opera? Thanks.

      • weqe

No, this never working in opera with chromium base.

        Example reproduce steps:

        1. Open two tabs exaple this blog and gmail (create new mail)

        2. Select/marked this line

        3. Drag selected line from this to gmail new mail

        4. Gmail tabs not open after moving mouse cursor (when dragged selected text)

        5. You try the same steps in chromium

        Windows 7 SP1 x64

        5. Powtórz to samo w chromium

        Windows 7 SP1 x64

  • Vux777

you have a problem with OS DPI
on 150% OS zoom (win 10×64 T2), no change in browser zooming
when first open, this page looks too small
but Opera menu zoom and even window.devicePixelRatio reports 100% (1)
only when I click on reset button next to zoom arrows, page looks as it should

    works fine on latest Canary

edit: needs to be opened in new tab, don’t follow link

  • led9ru

Opera clean offline install as “on usb stick”.

    1. I remove the tiles from Speed dial – one or all.(your tiles, you added them)

    2. I restart the opera – the deleted tiles are returned to end of the list in Speed dial

How do I remove these tiles ??

  • gezumpel

Extension icons don’t appear in private mode on linux but extensions are working. if i disable/reenable extensions show up. i always start opera with –private switch.

    Possible to fix?

  • Ralf Brinkmann

The mobile version of Opera on my smartphone and my tablet has a menu item “New tab: Open in foreground or background”. I find this very useful and would also like to have it in this desktop version. This would save one extension.

  • Vux777

can’t login to disus in this dev after fresh install
always getting “there was an error submitting the form”

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Did you allow cookies for this page?

      • Vux777

        yes
In stable i had no problems with login from main Disqus page
In Beta, I could only login from that sidebar link (main page and small popup window didn’t accept it)
        ..and in developer nothing helps

        • Ralf Brinkmann

Hmmm, and Ghostery? You have to allow Disqus, Google Ajax and Gravatar.

          • Vux777

            no, I allowed it
and tested without ghostery.. it’s the same

after win10 update to T2 (10586.17), I reinstalled most of my apps (including Opera installations)
            then this started to happening

          • Ralf Brinkmann

Hmm, then I don’t know what to do. I run this Opera Developer as standalone installation (USB installation) under Windows 10×64 and have no problems, even after all the updates. I did not change anything and can still log in. And I have Ghostery, uBlock and many other extensions working.

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Now I have the same problem. “An error occured…”. I’m logged in with Google Chrome now without problems. Opera doesn’t like me.

Oh, after switching all extensions off I could log in.

      • Vux777

        nope
switching all extension off (and restarting Opera) doesn’t help

        • Ralf Brinkmann

I can only say what just happened on my computer. And now I want to log off and repeat this process, but Disqus doesn’t let me log off. Ha ha ha ha…

          • Vux777

            weird

          • Vux777

            I’ve found the culprit
            switch –no-referrers was doing this
            at least in my case

          • Ralf Brinkmann

Good that you found the bad guy! Congratulations!

  • Nerdebeu

On the site “Le Figaro” (Premium with subscription), I can not open the comments (after clicking on the dedicated button) that normally appear in a right side panel (for non premium version, the display of the site is not the same and comments are displayed at the bottom of the page). No problem until the last update version of Opera Dev.

the button is ineffective and disable extensions does not help, and with a standalone version of Opera Beta, with the same extensions, the panel opens. With all other browsers, the panel opens as well.

Since I do not think you will pay a subscription see what’s wrong, it’s boring;)

    • Aneta Reluga

This is probably related to already known onclick and onhover events which are already known and being worked on. Thanks!

  • Ghirahim

Will you add notes to Opera anytime soon?

    • Leonardo Gomes

      I wouldn’t bet on it.

  • Hylian Ticipated

    lol

  • Александр Зиберов

Get-tune.net works cool right now on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, thank you.
