Hello,

Even though this version is technically O34, we are already in O35 cycle. Public developer versions will be upgraded to O35 next week, together with chromium version.

Since “winter is coming”, we are preparing for it. In the Opera 35 cycle we are working on:

    • Simple settings section – so that the most common settings are all together on one page,

    • Further downloads improvements – Opera should ask you if you really want to close it and stop currently ongoing download,

Downloads in Progress dialog

    • Sync – annoying duplicates creation should finally be solved in this cycle,

    • Easier way to turn bookmarks bar on/off. Currently this setting is so hidden that many users complain we don’t have bookmarks bar at all,

    • Something we internally call “Mute me baby” – a way to easily kill annoying sound from the browser,

Mute tab or browser

    • Addressbar on-click UI suggestions – add a way to display only speed dials there,

    • And last but not least – move News to Speed Dial – place News below the SD tiles. This is initial version, there are UI glitches and lack of your own sources addition. You can expect more enhancements to come.

We do not promise that any of this will hit final in O35, or hit it ever at all. Some of these are already turned on by default in this developer release, some are behind the opera:flags, and some are available only as whiteboards mockups.

Go explore and share your feedback with us.

Thanks!

    Thanks for the build.

The last bullet point sounds scary. 😐

    • Marko Koivuniemi

I tested it. I don’ see any benefits to me but maybe someone will.

  • nanana1

Can’t wait to Mute Me Baby ! 😉

    • Leonardo Gomes

You should be able to enable it in opera:flags

    • yuj

      SHUT UP!

      I already muted you, baby!

  • Ralf Brinkmann

This download thing: What about “Continue download in background and then close download tab?” Should mean, that the browser will be closed, but the download will be finished in the background.

  • Helder

    “News to Speed Dial”
    Please, no.

    • Rafael Luik

Just toggle it off. Click the News > button and done.

When you are about to delete a device folder from the “Other Speed Dials” branch in desktop Opera’s bookmarks view, you receive the following warning:

Removing a device folder will remove all the Speed Dial entries on that device. Do you really want to remove this device folder?

That cannot be true, can it? That would be a dangerously “adventurous” implementation, wouldn’t it? Anybody would expect the device to vanish from the installation the is sitting at, an perhaps (I wouldn’t!) from the sync servers – but never anyone would imagine to destruct data on other devices!

To have removed only locally cached foreign data and then locally remembering to “hide” the device would be the strategy I’d propose for the action of “deleting” a device in “Other Speed Dials”. (The list of “hidden” devices should be manageable.)

Another suitable approach could be to additionally wipe the data on the sync server – so if you use the removed device again in future, it will re-upload its data to the sync server, if you keep sd-sync switched on on that device. Using that strategy you could also abstain from the “hiding” action proposed above.

BTW on Opera for Android the German language confirmation prompt is very ambiguous, referring to deletion on “diese[m]” (“this”) device, which would remove entries “vom” (“from the”) device – where the second time you probably mean the other device and not the device the user is having his hands on (which I considered very unlikely, unless I encountered the English prompt on the desktop).

    • Leonardo Gomes

Yes, this is true and this is how sync should work imho. It wouldn’t be sync if a change wasn’t replicated on other devices.

      • x a

        I don’t agree.

Speed Dial Sync is not a 1:1 sync, anyways. It does not sync your Speed Dial, but give you access to other devices’ Speed Dial.

        • Leonardo Gomes

Yes, it syncs. May not be a 1:1 sync like you said but it’s still sync since you can see data from one place in another one and any change on any place will be seen on other ones.

if you add an SD entry to a device folder under “other speed dials”, you will show the new entry on that device, so removing an entry from that folder should also reflect on the device.

          • x a

Agreed, that operations on *items* should be reflected. – But not killing a device (real reflection would have to pulverize your device. ;)).

          • Leonardo Gomes

Well, one is a consequence of the other. That’s the reasdon for the warning.

          • x a

It isn’t. Selecting all items an pressing delete does not trigger the warning. Rightfully so.

          • Leonardo Gomes

Because the warning is triggered only if you are about to delete the device folder.

Maybe it should be triggered on any deletion attempt.

          • x a

No, it shouldn’t. Devices should not be deleted – they can’t.

They should be hidden and/or locally reset. (Think of all the duplicates Opera still generates!)

Your’e mixing devices with speed dial items – and that causes confusion. Removing a device from a view just is not the same as deleting items from a sync’ed collection.

          • Leonardo Gomes

So basically you are saying that sync should not sync.

          • x a

Don’t pretend to be unable to follow my arguments.

I say sync should sync, and removing a device from sync should stop syncing it.

  • Victor

whatsapp notifications are making opera to crash constantly on windows 10

    • Aneta Reluga

Thanks, unfortunately we know about notification issues and work on this.

    • muratservan

Same. It happens when notifications are disabled.

  • iPristy

So, that means that 34 Stable will be coming out very soon?

    • SuperTommy

No, O34 just hit beta. Probably around four weeks till release, that’s the norm.

  • xirit64

Ehm guys I love Opera and correct me if I’m wrong speculating this, but “News on Speed Dial” sounds like you ‘re in a desperate position to force users use a feature that nobody was interested in using from the beginning? Apart from the obvious problems of adding bloat and a feature that is anyway not working for many countries.

    • bwat47

They are hinting at the ability to be able to add custom news contents (e.g. RSS feeds) which could make the news feature much more interesting. I don’t see the problem as long as it can be disabled.

      • xirit64

You are right it’s still too early to judge and as long as it can be disabled I’m ok. It’s just that I like my Speed Dial to be as clean as possible with my stuff only and the browser not to be bloated with too many social and new-age stuff 🙂 I said that because I can’t explain it otherwise, since there is already a News/Discover button in the bar for whoever wants to use this feature. Why mess up my Speed Dial?

        • Herr Pietrus

It doesn’t look good. Why they can’t move toolbar to the top? that’s the only thing wee need.. And discover will be better visible then (I suppose that average user focus himself on the addressbar and generally upper part of the window after launching the browser)

On the other hand by adding news to the SD they removed that mentioned toolbar – that’s promising!

Personally I use news sometimes but I’d prefer to have it on a separate page.

But.. everything is better than current toolbar…
But… buttons are on the bottom too, and currently with white background…

          Damn – hard to decide!

          😛

          • xirit64

yeah I said the same, I would gladly trade this with the removal of the navigation bar that takes too much space. If they would move it to the top even better, together with bookmarks and history. But their behavior should be as it is with News now, seamlessly transitioning in the same page. Also another thing I noticed is that with it there is no Speed Dial search field either anymore (the magnifying glass) and consequently the tiles are placed higher 🙂

      • Nekomajin43

If we really get an RSS reader, then it is the worst place to put it right under the speed dial. It needs a separate page.

        • Herr Pietrus

We’ve got one – Smart RSS 😛 Opera won’t make it better.

      • Licaon_Kter

Disabled like the sync icon was, right? How does that work out for you?

    • Rafael Luik

You can toggle it off. Just click the News > button.

  • Konstantin Paramonov

hey guys, what can’t you just go with old school “yes/no” dialog? “interrupt downloads”, “continue browsing” is so much to read. Plus a dedicated downloader would be a much better choice.

  • Vux777

Addressbar on-click UI suggestions – add a way to display only speed dials there

    how?

    • Vux777

seriously, non of the suggested tiles are from my SD (under it)

      http://prntscr.com/91y94s

      • x a

The bullet points in the posting are issues they plan to *work on* during this Opera 35 cycle…

        • Vux777

          oohh …lol
          thanx

  • firuz_u7

make the context menu in the opera as white as in windows 10 https://imgur.com/nRD9Oxr if the native menu windows 10 ?, the current context menu by windows 7 https://imgur.com/oTCAjiK it is gray color from windows 7

    • bwat47

Opera’s context menus are identical to the context menus used in most other native win32 apps in windows 10… Go open notepad on a windows 10 machine for example, the context menu color/style is the the same as you see in opera. AFAIK opera is not doing any custom menu styling and is just using the native win32 style (with the exception of the hard coded win7 style menus on the webui pages like the speed dial).

Windows 10 in general is all over the place when it comes to ui consistency and has many different context menu styles. The menu style in that screenshot is only used in windows explorer for example.

    Whats going on with this:
DNA-45049 [Linux] Set up RPM repository WP2

So you prepare at latest RPM pack for Linux? 😀

    • Aneta Reluga

      Well… stay tuned 🙂

  • led9ru

Add option “HIDE this ***** Sync icon”!

You promised – and where this option?

    • BK

Good point. The thing is, we want to get this done properly, which would be about changing complicated flow implemented with current solution. And that’s not easy.

      • Licaon_Kter

I could hide it before, what part of hiding an icon needs “changing complicated flow implemented” ?

Oh, and I should expect that the future “mute me baby” icon to be un-hideable too because it needs “changing complicated flow implemented”, right?

        • BK

          You know better 🙂

          • Licaon_Kter

Wow, what a thorough response from a dev, 10x.

  • News to Speed Dial : if you could please integrate user defined RSS feeds that’d be great.

I’d love to see the sync issue being fixed and mute in browser!

    • BK

Thanks. Yep, RSS kind of solution is an option.

      • Nekomajin43

So you say you will integrate an RSS reader in the near future?

        • BK

Sorry, can’t say more for now.

  • Ricardo J. Barberis

    DNA-44777 Enable #show-downloads-in-progress-warning on developer

While you’re at it, can we get a “Confirm quit” dialog?
Sometimes I accidentally press Ctrl+Q instead of Ctrl-W.

DNA-45037 [Engine] Never save password does not work

For me it actually works too much 🙂
It never, ever prompts me again for a password, even after I delete the website from the list (opera://settings/passwords) and re-login

    • Nekomajin43

Yepp, we need a general warning on quit feature.

    • iamtelephone

      Unassigned the Ctrl+Q shortcut.

      • Ricardo J. Barberis

Yeah, but I also use that shortcut non-accidentally 🙂

  • Kees

And the hardware accelleration on osx on external screen is not working again. And i need that to work to have a working spreadsheet in google docs. Why is this bug reappearing??

    • xirit64

You expect too much, it’s not their fault when developer version is not suited for everyday work, it’s clearly stated.

      • Kees

It is their fault for 1. And this was broken in o33, but fixed in o34 and now its back. so regression tests are apparently not done. thats 2.
And if i use it for ‘everyday work or not’ googledocs still doesn’t work. Since when is it not important to know that??

        • xirit64

No for 1 and 3 it’s your fault for using it as it clearly states:

“Opera developer contains our latest changes. It is a nightly snapshot of our active development, ,delivered more or less as-is and minimal quality requirements.

The intention is to showcase what we are working on and be open about upcoming changes to web technologies. It is not intended for daily browsing. It is provided for web developers (as the name suggests) and enthusiasts who are not afraid of some bumps in the road.

The developer stream is what is often referred to, in development terms, as bleeding-edge or the unstable streams. Referring to the risk of suddenly getting cut by an unpolished developing feature.

Also for 2 I don’t know if it has been fixed in O33 since this is the developer section, try asking it in the beta or stable section.

          • Kees

seriously, thats how you think ‘customers’ need to be addressed. I only state a broken functionality for quite an important services (google docs) and you just say get lost?? thats not how you should maintain a good relationship with your customers. but he i get the hint, i’ll start using a different browser

          • xirit64

I don’t say get lost, there is a big difference between reporting a problem and whining/complaining and demanding stuff, which in your case is:

reporting-> “the hardware accelleration on osx on external screen is not working again.”

            whining/complaining and demanding:
-> ” i need that to work” = your personal demand, which violates the purpose and the idea behind the developer stream which is clearly stated.
-> “Why is this bug reappearing??”-> indirectly blaming the developers for incompetence of fixing a bug, when you know it’s a dev stream as stated, and seriously not your concern, you should use stable or at least beta for your everyday work, where this bug should not exist. If this bug exists in Stable, I’m 100% with you on complaining.

          • SuperTommy

He’s not an Opera employee. I see no issue with your report, if something breaks, even in developer, the Opera folks appreciate to know it. Though he is correct such things do happen in developer and must be tolerated.

  • Luis A. Rosario

Download button disappear, i mean at the moment I start a download the button has to show on aside bookmarks button but it doesn’t; to see my downloads I have to go to Opera Menu then select Downloads.

    EDIT: fixed reinstalling.

    CT

    • Aneta Reluga

You are working on Windows 7, if I recall properly from your previously logged bug? I am unable to reproduce, and I tried both a clean profile and a heavy one. Do you have some special extensions or perform additional actions before you start the download? Thanks.

  • catup

So, why do you release this technically being O34?

    • BK

Since we have new stuff in mainline which we would like you to check out. Browser numbering is minor detail anyway.

      • L33t4opera

Yes, new things are always welcome, as @ralfbrinkmann:disqus interestingly wrote here (one of my favorite of his phrases) “Yes, the truffle pigs are always sniffing for new delicious things here.” 😉

  • Nekomajin43

OK guys, I know you need some profit from the desktop segment, but don’t do it! Don’t spam us! There is already a link to the News page, no need to put it onto the speed dial.

    • xirit64

OK even though I don’t use dev I’ve tested it with a standalone install. The positive of it is that it completely replaces the navigation bar of the bottom, if they would do the same for Bookmarks and History (likewise with small buttons underneath) then we would be talking about a seamless transition between all of them, kinda like Stash and Speed Dial was which would be a big plus and a desired behavior if i remember right. Being vertical (and not horizontal) though it sucks a little, for having to scroll down, down, down, lol, but time will tell I guess.

      • Nekomajin43

They always say that they don’t want a crowded GUI. Now it is crowded, I have unnecessary buttons on the toolbar, and now I have to deal with a lot of stuff on the speed dial, which I never use. This is bad practice, and actually spam.

        • xirit64

At the core I’m with you, see also my first response, but if this comes with the trade of not having to look at the navigation bar I would think about swallowing/trading for it.

          • Nekomajin43

I am fine with the navbar, exluding its position.

          • Herr Pietrus

I suppose that he’s telling about the position 😛
            and the size maybe.

        • Leonardo Gomes

          Crowded how?

          • Nekomajin43

I don’t need the start page button on the left. I don’t need the search field on the speed dial. I don’t need the open tabs section in the tab menu. And I can’t turn them off, or hide them because of…?

          • Leonardo Gomes

Because they probably have more important things to deal with.

And not need something in the UI doesn’t mean it’s crowded. 🙂

          • Nekomajin43

I’m just talking about what they say from O15. A clean GUI, no clutter, not to confuse the average users… Now we have more buttons, none of them can be hidden. We have the world’s most unintuitive way to change speed dial tiles. We have a crowded tab menu. And it looks that we will have a bloated start page. Yes, it looks like the right direction…

          • Leonardo Gomes

OK, but Opera’s UI is very far from being crowded.

          • Nekomajin43

That’s relative, but they are on the way to make it crowded, at least.

          • nutcracker

You can get rid the search field in the speed dial (power settings). You’re right about the others! One question though: I don’t hear anyone (well not exactly but close) complaining about the mouse gestures. They are lame and lag behind the competition.
PS speed dial is not unintuitive at all!

          • Nekomajin43

I am not talking about the google search box.

          • xirit64

Actually when enabling the news flag now it disables the search field (magnifying glass) of the Speed Dial and moves all tiles further to the top 🙂

          • Nekomajin43

So if we sum it up, nothing changed actually.

    • Licaon_Kter

Oh, Opera devs, I’m so sorry for asking you to not add more links to sites I don’t want or use in my Speed Dial, I’m truly sorry now…

      • Aneta Reluga

Whoa! Here, a handkerchief. Your dripping sarcasm is already forming pools here.

        • Licaon_Kter

Really, how should I react then when you’re pushing ads in the SpeedDial without announcing that Opera becomes ads supported?

What’s the price of the browser since you are going to pre-8.5 support model then?

  • Kev87

What actually happened at Opera? Untill a few weeks ago, there were not that many builds in one week, now we have 2 or 3 in a single week 🙂

    • BK

      winter is coming 😉

      • Marko Koivuniemi

Hopefully not in financial report anyway?

        • BK

Q3 results have arrived yesterday, you can check out.

          • Marko Koivuniemi

Opera’s only weakness is modesty. Good job. (Still I miss sometimes innovations and joy in old era: also in some lighter things like Odd & Even and Jon’s actions.

  • netwolf

Seriously, you put your ‘promoted ads’ aka News under Speed Dials?
I must have majorly misunderstood that (at least I hope so…)

    • BK

Which of the article you see in News is an ad ?

      • Nekomajin43

Do you get money from those sites or not? A simple yes or no is fine.

        • BK

          no

          • Herr Pietrus

Honestly – (and I wasn’t against it, it isn’t intrusive) I always thought you did 😛

          • Marcin Mitek

            Surprise 🙂

          • Nekomajin43

Then why do you have to push it to the front?

    • Herr Pietrus

the more I think about it the more I like it.
      It removes the toolbar! Yeah!

But… still it seems that buttons will be on the bottom, and with white background! Oh no…

  • I have clicked that i do not want any sport news but the name Sport i still visible in the list of topics on the left side, so i which that will change.

  • ayespy

Can’t get it. The NI and offline links both only go to Opera 34.

    • xirit64

      Hi, it IS Opera 34 🙂 (34.0.2044.0)

      • ayespy

Yeah. I get that. But I didn’t realize 2044.0 was the new one. There’s no reference to the actual version number. I suppose I should have looked at the changelog.

    • Marko Koivuniemi

NI-installer is old – you must now use Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptangya Zoooooooom Boing Ni -installer.

  • Mat M

    Hello

Thanks for the bunch of stuff to test. Always nice to see you going on.

And two q° related to the future of address bar
    – Do you plan to make the address bar local to the device, like SD ? I have different SD tiles between mobile, work and home, so goes for the address bar, IMO.
    – Do you plan to have a setting where default click on addressbar bookmark will open in a new tab instead of current ?

Keep up the good work !

    • BK

Hi, I don’t really get the first question.
As to the second – I suspect middle click is something that would satisfy you?

      • Mat M

I prefer left-click. I know middle-click, but it is currently safer to open a new tab and click bookmark bar rather middle-clicking on a sloppy wheel. I am asking myself how many people use a bookmark from the bar with left-click (thus overriding the current page). Do you?

The first question is: is there any chance the bookmark bar behaves like Speed Dial, and has different configurations depending on the device where you use Opera ? Currently we have one bookmark bar for all our Opera’s

  • sgrandin

Do you ever plan to make the Speed Dial configuration – rows, columns, thumbnail size and icon vs. tiles – user configurable?

    • blue_screen

You can already change number of columns (Opera settings), size (zoom function) and choose between text-tile or screen shot tile (heart pop-up).

  • Roby

I really hope news on speed dial will be OPTIONAL, for your own good.
I do like to browse the Discover section sometimes but having it showed in my face is not something I’m fond of.

  • Кostadin

Careful devs! You could be held accountable for sexism 🙂
DO NOT design animated icon displaying a feminine face getting slapped 🙂

  • weqe

When you are planning release x64 version for windows?

    • ayespy

They’ve made it clear there is no timeline on this. They will do it if and when X64 is either forced on them, or becomes more broadly useful than X32 – not earlier.

  • Luis Amaral

For some reason the extra sugestions in the address bar are not showing up. Actually the option in the settings menu is not even there. How can I get it back.
    Currently I have installed 34.0.20440.0

    • Leonardo Gomes

You need to re-enable it on flags: #extended-suggestions

  • How about a simple way of sorting extensions on the Omnibar? I know there’s an extension that has a complex way of doing it, but if there’s a simple way for Chromium to do it, why not Opera? And how about synching extensions as well?

On tmz.com, the videos play with pauses every few seconds. I found out that on at least this site, Opera does not like 720p. In Opera, I have to manually change each video’s settings to 360p. Guess what..the whole tmz issue is a not a problem with Chromium!

For now, I’ll stick with Chrome, it might not have the bells and whistles that Opera has, but it excels in the basics.

    • Nekomajin43

      +1

We need some toolbar customisation. Something similar to Firefox.

      • Jademarisa

Or to Opera. The real one

        • Sebastián Lalaurette

You mean the real, unusable one in modern websites? I loved Opera Presto, but it’s dead now. Let it go. It took very long for me to do it, but I did it. You can too. 😉

      • How about click and drag extension icons like in Chrome? Having to use a multi-task extension to sort extensions is stupid..this is a problem that can be solved without brain surgery.

Why should I stick with Opera and manually change video settings, when I can use Chromium and play them flawlessly? And yes, Mod, I sent you the bug report, and you let that same bug in the next version cycle! Way to go!

For me to use Opera again, I like to see things that are not in any other Chromium browser. But too often, I see that other Chromium browsers have features not in Opera.

  • Victor

    what about syncing extensions?

    • BK

We are not working on that now.

  • Falco

Thank you very much for using proper UI-Guidelines for the Exit-Confirmation. This is how Buttons should be labelled, clear actions not OK/Cancel 🙂
The only thing missing to make it perfect is an easy to remember icon, a download symbol or something in the popup, so the user will immediately recognize it without even having to read text when he sees it the second/third time!

    • BK

Hi Marek. Use Engligh splease. What is your OS? Any particular steps to reproduce?

      • Hylian Ticipated

        “Use Engligh splease.”

        Well done.

  • Sebastián Lalaurette

This update installed itself without warning (the Opera button didn’t turn red as usual). Upon starting my browser this morning, it gave me the dreaded “no permissions” for the user profile and crashed in a cycle a few times. Then I could open it, but I lost all my open tabs and all extensions are disabled.

I’m relying too much on the developer branch using it as my main browser, I guess. It’s my fault. But I thought I’d let you know.

EDIT: It happened again today. I guess it will happen every time I boot my machine. “Not enough privileges” message, lost my open tabs. Only this time I only got a message about a corrupted extension. I’ll try a clean install.

  • Jademarisa

    Menu bar!!!! (please…)

    • BK

      No. (sorry..)

    • Hylian Ticipated

lmao. After Opera 12, this has become Opposite 15 and beyond. You should have stopped your reasonable requests a long time ago.

    • ayespy

There is a brand new modern browser much like Opera 12 that has a menu bar…

  • pidgin

is opera team aware of the browser freezing in the stable version?

    • BK

Not really. Can you provide some details, like steps to reproduce, OS?

      • pidgin

Win10, just regular use when operating with tabs mostly I think. This happens like 10+ times per day. I have to open task manager (ctrl+shift+Esc) and it immediately resolves.

      • Hard to tell did not notice any patterns yet. But had 2 freezes and complete crashes after while browsing Twitter.

        • Daniel Kozák

me too (archlinux x64) while scrolling on twitter page, almost every time. Update: but now it seems everythink works ok in all versions (stable, beta, developer), maybe it was on my another pc at work. I will try it as soon as I will be at work

      • eXzentrik
        • BK

          Thanks, we will check.

  • Der Herr Nick

Since this build scrolling performance is really bad: with approximately the same finger movement (on touch screen) sometimes scrolling is lame and uneven, sometimes it scrolls an unforeseeably big portion of the site. Quite annoying.

Both switches –alt-high-dpi-setting=170 and –enable-smooth-scrolling are set.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Win10x64

    • Hossam

      yes, confirmed
      some sites work, others don’t

      I use mouse wheel

  • SiMcarD

Strange problem here with Windows 10 build 10586 (updated today).
Using Whatsapp web, any time the page is not focused and arrives a notify, Opera crashes and closes.

    • Aneta Reluga

Notification issues (win8 and win10 specific) are unfortunately known and being worked on.

  • Der Herr Nick

Trackpad 2-Finger-Scrolling doesn’t work on some sites, e.g. Wikipedia.
    On other sites everything’s fine.

    • Der Herr Nick

Only broken, when “–alt-high-dpi-setting=170 and –enable-smooth-scrolling” switches are set. But I can hardly use Opera without these.

When using the previous version everything works well.

  • Anonimo

Hey there 🙂 Finally mute tab! Will you provide API for extensions with mute features like in chrome? For now tab.audible is undefined.

    • Aneta Reluga

It’s work in progress, so thanks for your input!

  • nutcracker

Tiles in speed dial cannot be arranged by the user (they lose their position every time Opera is launched)

    • Leonardo Gomes

Can’t confirm on Windows 10, tiles position are kept after a restart.

      • nutcracker

I meant the entries inside the tiles (second level)

        • Leonardo Gomes

Which entries? You mean tiles inside a folder?

          • nutcracker

            Yes!

          • Leonardo Gomes

            Still working here.

What would be the steps to reproduce?

          • nutcracker

Reproduce how? I just change the sequence of the tiles (i.e. the urls favicons presented as tiles) inside a folder tile and when I reboot my computer every change has been canceled and the sequence has gone back to what it was before (not that I miss anything)! Maybe it’s the syncing that does it?
            Win 8.1 64 bit

          • Leonardo Gomes

Maybe it’s related to sync, i haven’t check with it enabled.

  • Please embed the Opera Mail on the browser.

    • ayespy

Sorry. They made it clear from day one this was never in the cards. New Opera and old Opera Mail are not even compatible.

  • L33t4opera

Just in case, that someone is interested in new flags in comparision to the previous build (34.0.2036.2):
    – opera:flags#alternative-main-menu-label
    Changes main menu button label.

    – opera:flags#news-on-startpage
    Enable News on start page.

    – opera:flags#start-maximized-switch (Windows only)
Enable support for --start-maximized command line switch.

    • Vux777

      about the first flag
      http://i.imgur.com/pGSUy65.png

      • jzyken

        What about third?

        • Vux777

          I didn’t test it
I guess if you add –start-maximized to shortcut, Opera will always start maximized, even if closed in window mode (obviously)

why this deserve dedicated flag, nut sure…
probably because it’s new in chromium

          • jzyken

            Thank you

  • Marko Koivuniemi

First time in ages Opera ate my session. Damn! Luckily I had quite new “Last state” file in Beta channels’ profile folder. It could be useful to have option to save n version os session because it seems that 2 (current and last) are not enough when something occurs.

  • Yro

Please, consider changing the Opera ICON (rolling back to previous “O”). The new icon is horrible and doesnt fit anywhere..

    • littledoremi

New icon is fine. Looks good.

      • jzyken

But not in win 10 start menu =(

        • xirit64

out of curiosity, how does it look in W10? Care to post a screenshot? :p

          • jzyken
          • xirit64

hmm, right, I get it. Well to be honest it doesn’t look that better in Windows 7 either, it looks like a sphincter to me lol.

    • Marko Koivuniemi

I agree when looking my Windows taskbar but at home when I look OS X dock I disagree. 😉

  • xirit64

Hello, alphabetical sorting of the search engines by default in the context menu please, I have 16 of them and searching for the desired one every time is an immense pain. (I’m using Stable only so be quick please 🙂 )

  • L33t4opera

New Opera 35.0.2052.0 – for the first time together with RPM packages 😉

    • Vux777

      ole!

  • Ralf Brinkmann
    • xirit64

Too late bro, try next time 😛

      • Ralf Brinkmann

I was still looking for the correct link of the changelog and so on, while this other man already was sending.

        • L33t4opera

Hi Ralf, I’m sorry, the next time is your turn 😉

          • Aneta Reluga

You’re unbelievable, all of you. 😛

          • L33t4opera

Hi Aneta, as Ralf nicely wrote here, we’re like pigs, that searching for tasty truffles here, not to mention, and I bet on that, some of us have quite much fun because of that 😉

          • Aneta Reluga

I should really hope so! The more that I myself have a lot of positively loaded fun reading your comments. 🙂

  • qternet

Ctrl+Tabbing is terrible in new versions. Can you at least put a single switch into options? I need to switch tabs quickly not choose them from some small menu.

    • Aneta Reluga

Ctrl+Tab seems to work OK here – no issues with quick tab switching. What exactly do you mean? Thanks.

  • Kenny
