Hi,

Even though it’s summer time, and most of us would prefer to sit outside on a sunny beach rather than working in air-conditioned office, we have another version of Opera developer for you today.

Ladies and gentlemen, Opera 33 has landed on developer!

Some of you may have noticed the new window vibrancy effect on Mac OS X in the Opera 32 developer release; we decided to postpose it until Opera 33, to make sure it looks perfect.

vibrancy

Have a look at the changelog to see all the improvements and bug fixes we have made. There will be more, so stay tuned!

    Okay, I’m first

    • András Ács

How did you _do_ that? :O

  • dzek

    changelog is not working

    • Tomasz Procków

      Fixed 🙂 thanks

  • Peter Henkel

Oh for the love of God, add persistent pinned tabs already! How many years I have to wait for parity with Firefox and Chrome?

  • L33t4opera

Hi Radek, thanks for the announcement 😉
Congrats to the Developers on the first Opera developer 33 release!

By the way: the version number in the header of the change log should be 33.0.1963.0, the link http://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/changelog-33/#b1963.0, and the link to the change log inside the changelog.gz file is also wrong. Maybe you can change it to this one, and then all links will be valid?

    • Radek Rzepecki

yep, thanks for spotting this! 🙂

  • inDigazzZ

‘Recently closed’ and ‘Other devices’ titles of tabs are disappeared after hovering.

    • Radek Rzepecki

Well spotted. Confirmed on Windows and Linux. We’ll take take of it. Thanks!

  • Mike

Clicking links in external apps just opens a new tab?

Still have the old style Windows scroll bars / buttons etc on Win10

    • Ralf Brinkmann

Yes, I have exactely the same behaviour. Only an empty speed dial page. Not good.

      • Radek Rzepecki

could you give me an example. Opening a skype link works for me.

        • Ralf Brinkmann

Skype link? I use Skype for video communication, not for links. Open a link in your e-mail client or in any usenet group. You don’t know what usenet is? OMG. Ok, try it with the e-mail client. I would like to send you a mail, but I don’t know how to find your address.

    • SiMcarD

      Same here. WIndows 10

    • Momfer1

It’s mentioned for Opera 30, 31, 32 and now 33. It seems no one at Opera uses Windows 10.

      • Wando Schneider

With the latest Opera Developer (33.0.1967.0), using the flag #submodule-native-theme-alt, you’ll not see the w95 elements anymore 😀

        • Momfer1

Thank you very mych. Now we’re talking.

  • x a

Can someone explain, since when (and for what purpose) an autofill feature is server-backed? (Cf DNA-41566, DNA-42379, DNA-42602.)

    • Olli

That is a really interesting question! If anything about autofill is server-backed now, I am going to switch to another browser after 9 years.

    • Vux777

my guess is that is related to “Help improve Opera by sending feature usage information” (from settings)

they probably testing auto-fill beahviour (there is couple of autofill flags))

      • Herr Pietrus

        I hope so…

  • Vux777

opening new window is crashing opera if sidebar extension is active

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

Thanks, we’ll take care of this.

  • Ralf Brinkmann

Can anybody explain the difference between the old and new tabs model (opera://flags/#new-tabs-model)? I don’t see any difference on my W10x64 computer.

    • L33t4opera

Hi Ralf, I think, that it could be "DNA-41213 Chrome browser model migration phase one: tab_strip_model adaptation."

      • Vux777

I thik that’s about media strems (or something like that)

        line 186

  • Vux777

-hovering bookmarks (in list) is much snappier now….

-since you fixed many bugs with notifications, you could also fix image positioning

    – and tabs.executeScript still doesn’t work in iFrames (DNA-42484)

  • Cryio

So except for bug fixes, what does Opera 33 actually do on Windows ?

  • SLR

Please do something about the silent auto updates. Gives us a notification at least.

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

You can enable #autoupdate-notifications and check how it works. However, the feature is still under development.

      • x a

Or use my browser extension Browser Update Watchdog to be notified upon the first launch of an updated Opera.

        • Herr Pietrus

Or simply rename opera_autoupdate and get rid of annoying, silent auto updates.

  • L33t4opera

    New flags:
    – opera:flags#new-tabs-model Use the new tabs model.

    – opera:flags#other-speed-dials-cleaner
Removes other devices' speed dials from the bookmark manager when signing out from Sync.

    – opera:flags#enable-suggestions-with-substring-match
Match Autofill suggestions based on substrings (token prefixes) rather than just prefixes.

    – opera:flags/#simplified-fullscreen-ui
An experimental new user experience when entering page-triggered fullscreen or mouse pointer lock states.

  • Lacedaemon

So blinking will be never fixed? http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2dj5v0k&s=8
You & Google call that “quality” of a product? Why do I need sync and other hipster & marketing stuff when your engine is so broken and no one is willing to fix it for years?

    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=457714
    http://chromium-bugs.chromium.narkive.com/ojZzhwBr/issue-128290-in-chromium-blinding-white-flash-on-page-transition-background-is-black-image

    • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

      > sync and other hipster & marketing stuff

lol, is this a joke? Sync is a very useful feature.

      • Lacedaemon

Right. Have you also something to say about the real and very important (it can lead to nausea & epilepsy) issue?

        • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

You’re just trolling. A single blink can’t cause nausea or an epileptic attack. If you suffer from epilepsy, you’d need to trigger the attack by quickly and repeatedly switching tabs to get a constant flicker. No epileptic will do that, and if they do, they kind of deserve it.

The issue is not very important, and there are many important issues to take care of before this.

          • Lacedaemon

A single blink? Is that what you use the browser for, for one single webpage and that’s it? Have you seen the videos? The one with the already preloaded tabs in the background? Have you seen how many people have reported that and had to switch to another browser because of it? If you have then it’s clear who is trolling who.

          • http://www.lalaurette.com.ar/ Sebastián Lalaurette

I’ll say it again, and I’ll abandon this silly argument for good: to trigger an epileptic seizure, you’d need to switch tabs quickly and repeatedly. This means like four or five tab switches per second. It would give you no time to actually use the browser. You’d have to be actively pursuing the seizure, not browsing the Internet normally. Have a nice day.

          • Lacedaemon

You are so right, there are so many important issues to take care of before this minor thing. Like the size of the Speed Dial boxes and the heart menu popup icon. Oh and collecting cake recipies of course, with a better revised “Discover”.

          • Herr Pietrus

Of course it can’t cause an epileptic attack. It simply shows the quality of modern software 😛
It’s imply pathetic – not to fix such thing for such a long time.
Modern superwebbrowser can’t switch pages without “special effects”. Is there really anything to comment?

  • Matheus Bombonato

4 full Opera releases and sidebars still problematic 🙁

    • Nekomajin43

      HUGE +1

    • SuperTommy

      Edit: Read wrong.

      Is it those resizing issues?

      • Matheus Bombonato

I wrote it wrong. I mean sidepanels :/

  • SiMcarD

On Windows 10 crashes every 10-15 minutes 🙁

    • Wando Schneider

      Disable the flag #autoupdate-notifications!

    • Wando Schneider

Also, i think that #new-tabs-model could cause some crashes.

    • http://maciej-gryniuk.tk/ Maciej Gryniuk

The same for Windows 7 64-bit.
      Will test those flags.

  • sbs73000

With #new-tabs-model flag enabled, Opera crashes when opening a pop-up — e.g. on this blog when trying to connect to Disqus. (Windows 10)

Then, in general settings, “Microphone” and “Camera” sections appear twice : in “Browser” settings and in “Websites” settings.

  • Apocalypse

So? What is new? You told us, that Developer edition will be for “coll stuff”. So where is it?

    • SuperTommy

      Have they said that?

      • Apocalypse

Yes in the very past, when they introduced road map.

        • Rafael Luik

It’s summer, cool stuff is inside the fridge.

          • Apocalypse

We r waiting for coll stuff for 2 years. Maybe its time to open fridge?

          • Cryio

The coolest thing they is did is cool looking Settings (haha, really though) and they reintroduced recently closed tabs.

            That’s about it though.

          • Joe438

            What is “coll” stuff?

          • Cryio

            Huh ?

          • Joe438

The Apocalypse referred to “coll stuff” earlier. I thought it might be a typo, but he uses that word repeatedly making me wonder what “coll” is.

          • Rafael Luik

That was not cool, my OS should dictate the appearance of buttons and other elements.

And I can’t see any “recently closed tabs”, I see a feature named “10 last closed tabs” but not the former.

          • Leonardo Gomes

And what do you call “cool stuff
            ?

          • Apocalypse

Well they used that name. My personal list doesnt matter… im just waiting for something else than animation in speed dial…

          • Lacedaemon

            Hahaha, that was classic!

    • Gustav Ekner

“There will be more, so stay tuned!”
Probably they’ve been working on more but couldn’t put it out on the developer stream yet.

      • Apocalypse

Im waiting for 2 years and im tuned…

        • Leonardo Gomes

And you are waiting exactly for what?

If you are thinking about those (impacting) features like in Presto times, i guess you should just stop waiting and go ahead because nor Opera nor any other browser will give you a new feature with the same impact of those introduce by Opera Presto.

          • Apocalypse

Well. Im waiting for. Tabs in multiple lines, change or switch off ui buttons like those from extensions, asking where to save or open downloaded files, sidebar switch, changes in speed dial to choose where can i plsce this bottom panel etc. I never made a list of features missing, but yes i m waiting for PROGRESS. There is no progress if you dont change anything.
i understand that not all of the features from Presto Times will be in, but for god sake. Those features made Opera unique. And now?
At least V is trying to come back those features but if only Opera make something new, it would be great. What we have now is stagnation. But of course it is my opinion and its blog isnt? Greet.

          • Leonardo Gomes

Those features made Opera Presto unique, another ones will make Opera Blink unique.

Vivaldi is bringing back those features because they are clearly aiming at the Opera Presto users unsatisfied with the current Opera. And Opera is aiming at other group of users.

We shouldn’t forget that Opera Presto took about 18 years to become what it is today. And almost all features, some of those that some people wnat to see added back, got lots of comments against them back when they were introduced.

          • Herr Pietrus

For me such features like “change or switch off ui buttons like those from extensions, asking where to save or open downloaded files, sidebar switch, changes in speed dial to choose where can i plsce this bottom panel etc” will definitely make new Opera unique…
            … and more polished
            … and more userfriendly

          • Marc

I just want my tab stacking back and I’m happy.

  • Ghirahim

Every time I start Opera (older versions too), I see this thing. How can I remove it??

    http://abload.de/img/untitled0mpry.png

    • L33t4opera

Hi Ghirahim, disable the opera:flags#warn-for-unknown-root, restart the Opera, and see if this helps.

      • Ghirahim

        It works, thanks!

        • Rafał Chłodnicki

Or you might try to fix the actual problem. The flag will go away at some point and get enabled by default.

Help for this case should be added at some point in the future, but for now you could probably fix this by removing local certificate from your system.

It’s not safe to use local root certificate for connections to sites. If the certificate was added by someone else, that someone can also decrypt all your communication.

  • Nerdebeu

18 consecutive versions of Opera (15 to 33) and it still cannot play my videos stored on OneDrive. All others major browsers can do it, ALL (FF 32 and 64 bits, Chromium 32 and 64 bits. Vivaldi 32 and 64 bits, IE and Edge, and… Opera 12.17 32 or 64 bits), Opera 15++ is the only one browser that does not allow to do so.

And I tried everything (in two years, I had the time XD): new profiles, no extension, normal and portable versions, Stable, Beta, Dev, with or without hardware acceleration, change useragent … Everything, everything, everything)

    Each version, I hope, and then… Nothing…

/Do not say that he even prayed on his knees in front of his PC or danced around.

    • https://vivaldi.net/unity/profile/chas4/6-blog Chas4

What format is the extension for the video (.mov etc) ?

      • Nerdebeu

All extensions that are normally played in onedrive and I can play with all other browsers: .mov, .avi, .mp4, .m4v

        • http://vinczej.blogspot.hu vinczej
          • Nerdebeu

Well I wonder how you do, because for two years it’s impossible for me (and others since three others voted on what I was saying) and on two different PCs.

The image remains blocked, no play like all my videos.
But cons, I note that for two or three versions of Opera, it’s better, now I have… an image of the video… Before, I had only black and sometimes, not always, an error message (Sorry, something went wrong)

          • Nerdebeu

Edit (08/25): by Disqus, 4 upvotes. This is not an isolated problem and unique to me.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

Which Windows version do you use? Are you using Windows N?

          • Nerdebeu

I’m really sorry to have this a little “hard” answer, but I see absolutely no connection with my (our) problem.

But to answer you, I use full versions of Windows 8.1 and 10.

I do not see the report since all my browsers (see my original post) allow me to play videos stored on onedrive, and only Opera 15+ , and that, since its launch two years ago, can’t.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

The other browsers you mentioned, except perhaps IE, don’t use the same mechanism as Opera to play back videos. Do you have a link to a publicly accessible video?

          • Nerdebeu

            Example : http://1drv.ms/1JgONz3

I checked with all my browsers, all can open this video. Even Chromium x64 Portable ! (version 46.0.2455.0 very close to the chromium version of Opera)

Maybe that Opera does not use the same mechanisms, but it’s really frustrating:

            – Opera Dev is my default browser from the beginning. But even with the stable and beta versions, nothing change.

            – I use a lot OneDrive, and Opera is very efficient, than other browsers to open very heavy documents. But if I want to play a movie to distract me, I have to switch browser.

And the worst is that to upload my videos, Opera is the most effective …

So two years ago, is more than frustration, it’s very annoying, and I remain polite. I really tried EVERYTHING. If I post to solve a problem is that there really is a problem, and that I can not solve it alone (and I hate it). And apparently I’m not the only one to experience this problem.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

OK, I also can’t play that video here. I’ve reported bug DNA-42902 for it.

          • Nerdebeu

Yes but the problem is not limited to this video (.mp4), in the case of ALL video formats authorized for playback on onedrive: .avi, .mov, .m4v, .mp4. Above all, it is from the beginning with Opera Blink.

            Thanks.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

Hi again, we’ve found that this is caused by browser sniffing 🙁 OneDrive doesn’t serve the correct video to Opera. The video plays correctly if Opera identifies as a recent Chrome version. We’ll ask Microsoft to correct the behavior. Thanks for the report!

          • Nerdebeu

Strange. I tried to change user agent for two years, and again now, with that of Chrome (44.0.2403.157) and it does not. When Opera had just add Widevine, Netflix detected that it was Opera and did not allow the playback in HTML5. Switch user agent with that of Chrome worked. No need to change now, but at the begginning, it was necessary. For onedrive, it never worked.

          • Dave-H

That video plays fine here in 33.0.1967.0, so presumably it’s fixed.
            Windows XP SP3 32bit.

  • Matheus Bombonato

Opera Developer was my default PDF reader. It’s not opening the files anymore. It just opens a new empty tab. Windows 10

    • Matheus Bombonato

Actually… I just notice any link from another application is working. If Opera is closed it works but after that only empty tab.

      • Radek Rzepecki

yep, this is confirmed. We will fix it soon.

        • Ralf Brinkmann

          Monday. Please.
In the meantime I’m back to the last Beta, because I need this function very often.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      I guess it’s by design.

    • Arjan van Leeuwen

You’ll notice it’s the same on every browser in OS X. User agents are generally not changed unless there’s some pressing reason to, because many sites will be looking for the existing patterns.

Are we gonna see some new exciting features soon (perhaps next Opera Dev)?

Also.. how long are you guys gonna ignore the Windows 98-Classic style scroll bars in Windows 10?

Still forcing the Sync Button and Tab Menu in my face. I remember when I could get to the Recent Tabs much faster by using the drop-down menu in the top-left. This tab menu also only shows tabs that haven’t been closed. Truly pathetic. These features are extremely dislikable when it’s cluttering. Opera devs, you need to do better. It was working before. You broke it.

  • u99

Could you please add the option to hide the Google Search bar in the speed dial… I had to press a lot of keys to hide it and if I need to do it again in the future I’d thank you for make things more simply just putting the option on the default menu.

  • Zin

YES! Another version with features nobody or only a minority of the ppl requested plus other amazing things 😀

1 – outdated chromium since it’s on version 47 while opera has 46.

2 – the problems that ppl are complaining about for a LONG TIME are still there.

3 – the only Opera that would get more thousands/millions of downloads than this one, version 12.18 without the annoyance of requests to add certificates plus support for the extensions supported by Opera 33 plus better support for HMTL 5 and PHP 7.0 wasnt released…..

Boy, i shudder just thinking about the wonders that will come…

    • Vux777

1 – outdated chromium since it’s on version 47 while opera has 46.

          • Gordon Freeman

Sorry for my late reply, Reported it as a Bug !

  • Joe438

Thanks for the update! I’ve been having fun going over the huge changelog and it is going to take me a while to go through it all 🙂

    • Lacedaemon

Relax they are just cheating, hoping(?) no one notices. 118 of 201 entries are just duplicates from the latest Opera 32 beta log. After the closure of the Oslo team they do that all the time. You can imagine the reasons I guess.

      • SuperTommy

It’s the correct way of doing it, as it shows changes from last developer version which is the purpose of a changelog. Doesn’t matter if some of the changes got promoted to beta in the meantime.

        • Joe438

I get the impression Lacedaemon likes to assume the worst, which is rather annoying.

          • SuperTommy

Even more annoying when you fall for it.

          • Joe438

Fair point. My thought was that maybe a mod would notice and clean up some of the posts. I shall just flag the posts instead and the mods can handle things as they see fit.

          • SuperTommy

By the way, I didn’t mean you specifically. But generally when you bite on. 🙂 Though criticism isn’t against the rules, you should decide if it’s worth starting a discussion.

          • Joe438

You’ve been active here longer than myself. Do trolling/off-topic posts get removed now and again so as to keep things less cluttered and more on topic? Admittedly, this thread might fall under that category 😉 I guess I’ve been a bit frustrated with it recently. Not a lot, just a little.

          • SuperTommy

Depends how far it goes, and/or what the off-topic is about. Name-calling is obviously deleted. But yeah, we’re on an off-topic path as well. 😉 Have a good weekend.

        • Lacedaemon

Right… and this just started “to be happening”, “unintentionally of course”, even copy-pasting the same logs in the same stream twice, third etc, right after the Oslo layoffs. It’s the correct way, I believe you…

          • SuperTommy

If you don’t believe a changelog should contain all fixes in the same branch from the last version, then you don’t know what a changelog is for. A user shouldn’t have to browse through a beta changelog to know what’s been fixed since last developer version. Some use developer as main browser, and don’t care about beta. What you personally feel about this approach is fine, but the fact is it’s how it should be done.

          • Lacedaemon

A user shouldn’t have to browse through a beta changelog to know what’s been fixed since last developer version.

Right, and why hasn’t that been done before the Oslo layoffs?

And I should again remind you that in O31 or O30 IIRC, there were over 200 duplicates IN THE SAME (DEV) STREAM’s changelog, done for 2-3 updates in a row and people were… amazed by the size of each (after the whining about the lack of updates-bug squashing for weeks), only to be proven by some later that they were just duplicates to cover the slow-down of the bugfixing rate, due to the lack of personal.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

Right, and why hasn’t that been done before the Oslo layoffs?

Pfff…. Nice conspiracy theory here 🙂 This happens on every first developer release of a certain version (and every first beta release of a certain version, and every first stable release…), and SuperTommy is absolutely correct in his reasoning. How much overlap there is between streams depends on how much time there has been between releasing the two stream versions, and how many of the changes have been backported to other streams in the meantime. All changes first happen on the master branch (which is where Developer is released from), and other streams are on their own branches, so it’s not even useful to generate changelogs from one stream to the next.

          • Lacedaemon

What are those “certain versions”, cause I ‘ve looked at some changelogs beta x -> dev x+1 and there was not even one same entry listed from the beta x to the dev x+1. This has happened only with O33 dev. Also I wanted to show you the 200+ duplicates I was speaking of but someone deleted them (now?) from those changelogs.

          • Arjan van Leeuwen

I don’t know if you’re intentionally misreading what I’m saying. Check again:

How much overlap there is between streams depends on how much time there has been between releasing the two stream versions, and how many of the changes have been backported to other streams in the meantime.

This means that if the beta and the developer are released close to each other and close to when the beta branched, they will not share any or many changes. But if they’re released some time after the branching, they’ll share entries (namely, all changes that happened on the developer branch but have been backported to the beta). The same then happens in later beta updates, which will list changes that are also in developer versions (because that’s where the changes are made first, before they’ve been backported to the beta branch).

The changelog always lists the changes from the last publicly available version in the stream to the version you’re seeing, so from the last available beta to the next available beta in the stream or from the last available developer to the next available developer. We don’t expect people following a certain stream to start joining together changelogs from different streams just to find out what changed with their update. Nor is this even possible, because occasionally there are changes needed only on a certain branch, so joining them together would never give you the changes that happened in a certain version.

I could draw a picture of branches and explain how changelogs work, but I think it’s better if you just look up source code control, branching and backporting and you’ll understand how this works technically (and why it’s even possible for us to generate changelogs). And maybe you’ll stop worrying about a grand conspiracy of Opera employees masterminding to make up a changelog. There’s no such thing.

          • Lacedaemon

So you mean that changes that got backported to O32 beta are listed in O33 dev as well, because the release time between them was really short. Ok I get this, what striked me was that I didn’t notice anything like that in the past. I will check those topics some time in the future, sounds interesting & time consuming reading it too :).
As for the other issue, those duplicates were there in the same stream two or three times in a row, then they got cleaned in the changelog.

Is any Stylish user having problems? If you have a style for a certain domain and then open aa link to a different domain with the middle mouse button the style is turned off. But it seems to work just fine if you open with with the right button menu.

    • Nerdebeu

No, you’re not alone, no more style works for me (mostly dark styles: Twitter, Wikia, Google services …)

    • Mike

Yes, I’ve had this for a few releases…

  • http://maciej-gryniuk.tk/ Maciej Gryniuk

    Nice… I thought that I disabled autoupdate.
Now my browser is reseting for every 10/15 minutes -.-
    (Windows 7 64-bit)

  • fearphage

When I ctr-tab through tabs with the ctrl-tab bar visible, Opera freezes or stops drawing. The title is the only thing that updates after that. Nothing else is drawn ever again. Ubuntu 64-bit

    • fearphage

I can ctrl-tab once and all is fine. It’s switching while the ctrl-tab bar is visible. This regression appeared in the previous developer release.

  • David_Gould

Getting a version without the major bugs (screen painting & extensions not working) is worth a new developer release. The major version number actually means nothing in developer stream. It just means that that the last version has its feature set frozen for beta.

    • SuperTommy

      You got it. 🙂

  • Vague Rant

Ever since updating from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, attempting to download anything in Opera developer (either the previous or current build) crashes the browser. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Settings files to rename/delete, etc.? Thanks for any help.

EDIT: I tried a full uninstall/reinstall, deleting my entire profile, and am still seeing the same behavior. Just a matter of Opera developer being broken on my hardware combination and Windows 10, I guess? I’ll switch to Vivaldi while I wait for further developer updates.

Links from other applications open just a blank tab on Win 10 10525. Is this known?

  • Thomas Sawyer

Is it just me, or this build has messed up the fullscreen zoom on SlideShare when changing slides?

  • Olli

Found a bug in window behaviour on OS X 10.11. When closing all Opera windows and then opening a new window, this window only has 1/4 the size of the screen and not the same size as the windows had before. So window state doesn’t seem to be saved when closing all windows. This is a regression to the last Opera Developer release.

  • Alex Parker

Allow us TO NAME A BOOKMARK in the pop up when we add it! What the hell, guys? It’s the most basic function EVER! To name your bookmark when you add it! Why do I have to go to bookmarks and rename every time? This is terrible!

    • SuperTommy

You can already. Just click the bookmark name below the image in the popup to edit.

      • Alex Parker

What?! Doesn’t work for me! Did I mess up some setting?

        Look:

        https://youtu.be/oKCB0GSEL8Y

It doesn’t do anything for me. The name isn’t editable. It has never been editable for me.
I’m using Opera 31, by the way. That option is already there, or has been added in 32/33 version?

EDIT: Right, I’m seeing this is new to version 32. Can’t wait for the final release then.

        • SuperTommy

I see, you are using the stable version. Well, in the next version (O32), which is now in beta, they have revamped the bookmark popup with more functions, including editing of name. This is how it looks: http://i.imgur.com/K1epLtw.gif

When you ask a question in a developer blog post, we usually assume you are using the developer version. And vice versa with beta/stable blog post. 🙂

  • Trooper1

There has been a bug/limitation in the most recent versions of Opera Dev. It has, and still is not possible to drag Speed dial icons around the Speed dial page on a touch only Windows 10 device. Nothing works, ‘Tap and drag’ or ‘Tap, hold and drag’ (which only brings up the context menu). Not sure at what version it actually started, but it is very frustrating when it does not work, when you need to move icons around.

    • SuperTommy

      Try to enable opera://flags/#touch-events

It’s a Chromium issue where it doesn’t automatically recognize that you are on a touch device. But you can manually enable it.

      • Trooper1

I have already done that a few days ago. It was set to ‘Automatic’, but I have since set it to ‘Enable’ without it making any difference.

  • Druszlak

Animated themes drops frames very often. Whole browser’s UI seems to work slower when activated.

  • Ralf Brinkmann

I’m a little confused: Wasn’t it posible in earlier versions to enter more than one e-mail address (and other data) for each person in the autofill setttings?

  • Andyx1975

Seems that Opera can not play music on Google music.

    • beBoss

True! On pop up, on closing tabs or just rtying to click them…..

is sidebar opened when crash happens?
in my case combo of sidebar and new window is 100% crash

      • Wando Schneider

Probably because of #new-tabs-model flag. Disable it and everything will work just fine.

    • Wando Schneider

      Disable both #autoupdate-notifications and #new-tabs-model flags. 😉

      • Dmitrij D

Thanks, I’ll try that. But why is this a problem anyway. It’s a developer edition sure, but it shouldn’t start crashing every 10 minutes,

        • Wando Schneider

Besides being a developer edition, the flag is disabled by default, because is under development, not ready to use.

          • Dmitrij D

Ok, so it was #autoupdate-notifications. Thanks. 🙂

Same shit. Open http://www.livescores.com/ and then click on results of the teams (it opens a pop up) and opera crash! So opera still crashehs on pop ups.

      • beBoss

And this crashes are maybe because of the new tabs flag. Just disable it!

        • Vux777

yes, new tab model flag crashing opera in many situations, one of them is popup

      • Leonardo Gomes

    ——–en——–

opera can not set the shortcut keys: return to the “My navigation” function, which was very convenient.

This function is similar to Google browser’s home / family function. It is a return to the “my navigation” and return to my navigation on the current page, rather than creating a new tab.

[Show “my navigation”] function and new tab, like, so not to overlap the functions it? But less return my navigation.
