Hi,

today we’ve got stabilization/bugfixing update for you. It contains:

  • Chromium upgrade to version 44.0.2403.155.
  • Default apps window from Settings will open up itself instead of displaying Windows 10 popup with guide on how to set the browser as a default. It will enable setting Opera as a default browser in Windows 10 much easier.
  • Fixes of some annoying issues that you reported us.

For detailed list of changes, check our changelog. As always we’re looking forward for your comments.

Why do you not have a mod tag by your name?

        • Vux777

it would ruin his beard… ツ

        • Leonardo Gomes

Probably because he is not a mod? Not all Opera employees are mods here.

          • Joe438

I didn’t know that. If that is the case is there a way to know if the person such as Tomasz Prockow is an Opera employee so as to know that the comment is official?

          • Leonardo Gomes

Hmm, not that i know. They used to have Opera’s logo in their profile’s image.
Anyway, you can check if there is a post for that person in the blog.

And yes, Tomasz is a Opera employee.

      • Chawoobie

Using offline installer, I am now at 31.0.1889.174.

  • Sidney Moraes

Auto updater says I am using the lastest version which it is not the latest one: 31.0.1889.99

    • Tomasz Procków

We are using gradual auto update release to be sure that everything goes right. You should receive new version tomorrow at the latest.

  • taneli

Have we forgotten all about the developer stream 😐 4 weeks since last update in there.

    • qwert

Yes exactly is the fourth week goes, I wonder When the new developer, and thanks for Stable update

      • Tomasz Procków

We are planning to release developer in this week, so stay tuned 🙂

        • qwert

Thank you, I look forward to

        • I think we are waiting on seeing what Develops at 33 🙂

    • Leonardo Gomes

Opera 32 was just promoted to beta channel, so developer 33 should come up soon.
And don’t forget that it’s summer and vacation time in Europe

Edit: It might get fixed Jordanna Chord 2:57 PM+1 posted on the Google+ post “Opera support issue is a bug. Filed and we’ll tackle quickly.”

It does not work on Opera stable 31.0.1889.174

    • Nice copy of my comment from the previous stable build blog post comments

It has not been fixed by Google (I thought Google was down with this ****)

      • qwert

yes it is your truth, I copied this comment

        • I was told they have an internal bug report at Google (on the Google Plus comment)

This is not a fix in a Opera version update (Opera might be able to work around their bad coding again with a BrowserJS patch until Google fixes it), the permanent fix will come on the Google side

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

It’s a known issue. We’re working on that.

  • blue_screen

Autoupdate via “restart now” button in “about Opera” page did not work. Special mouse symbols like scroll are working again. Win 7 pro 32 bit.

  • Sidney Moraes

I can see the Wide Vine plugin in Opera Stable (Windows 7) but I can’t see it in Opera developer.

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

There is a process of checking Wide Vine existence. This can take ~10minutes to check and download the plugin. Going to a page that requires Wide Vine should download it right away.

  • Strange this page was only loading as a black page, I think I fixed it via killing the GPU process and then opening the desktop blog again in a new window

    OS X 10.10.5

    • Radek Rzepecki

I didn’t see this problem on os x 10.10.5, do you have any extensions installed? Can you try to disable them and see if you are still having this issue?

      • I have seen it on and off (last few stable versions), it is not OS X but Opera, seems to be the GPU process

  • GF-REX

Well both the about:Opera and the ‘Network Installer’ failed to give me version 31.0.1889.174. It updated but I ended up with 31.0.1889.161. Downloading the ‘Offline’ installer finally let me update to 174.

Also the update seemed to break Smart RSS. Now when you scroll, it scrolls the entire page instead of the current frame your in. Is that plugin dead? It hasn’t been updated since October.

    • Chawoobie

Same here. Using the offline installer I am now at 174.

    • Wolfpig

I dont have a problem with smart rss.
Still works the same as before.

      • GF-REX

Which layout do you use? I use the 2nd layout, with the list of articles on top and the actual article below it.

It works fine if I switch to the other layout.

        • Wolfpig

The list side by side, as it is the one im used to it

          • GF-REX

Yeah. If you use the other layout, the vertical one, theres some extra whitespace near the bottom. The size of the whitespace seems to change based on the size you make the list of articles.

This whitespace is enough to cause the browser to show the main scrollbar. At least for me, running on 1280×1024 resolution.

I just installed Opera 30 again to test and it works perfectly there.

          • GF-REX

Just found a solution in the comments here: http://blog.martinkadlec.eu/post/501-smart-rss-final-v10

            Load up C:Users*USER*AppDataRoamingOpera SoftwareOpera StableExtensionsnncgmpcdlilgbepbfpeidpjlcdfhmcfp2.2_0stylesmain-compiled.css.

            Then search for .region {
            Change the last line on that from height: 100%; to max-height: 100%;

  • Matthias Brandt

How do you manage to break the video playback everytime opera updates? How do I fix it this time?

    Version:31.0.1889.174
    Stable
    System:Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (x86_64; X-Cinnamon)

ffmpeg installed as described here (because opera 30 broke playback the first time): http://ruario.ghost.io/2014/12/19/adding-h-264-video-support-to-opera-for-linux/

    Flash deactivated obviously.

    • L33t4opera

Hi Matthias, “Due to changes in Chrome, Opera is no longer able to use the system’s ffmpeg library to playback H264 videos on Linux” – the source link.

However, instead of the old solution, you can try the following steps: open a terminal window, and execute the below commands as root (or use another user account with administrator privileges):apt-get install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra
      cd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera && mkdir lib_extra && cd lib_extra && ln -s /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libffmpegsumo.so libffmpeg.so.31

      • Matthias Brandt

        Thanks! That worked.

      • Andrew Andreyuk

        With last chromium update:
        /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libs/libffmpeg.so

        • L33t4opera

Hi Andrew, yep, you are right, thanks, I have modified the last step, accordingly to the changes 😉

  • Momfer1

And still the DPI problem on Windows 10. It’s about time to solve this. It is mentioned several times by others and me. It’s very annoying: the scrollbar and checkboxes on websites look like Windows 95.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      What is the dpi issue?
The layout one is being worked on but it’s not that easy to fix, as said.

      • Dark Magician

Why, It’s the only browser with the issue?

        • Leonardo Gomes

Don’t know, maybe related to the use of native elements?

  • catup

You guys are really jumping over old Chromium versions rather than following in the wake of Chromium. That’s great!

  • Joe438

What was fixed that allows me to set Opera Stable as the default browser? I was unable to do so before.

“DNA-42207 Speeddials anomalities in Opera 31” Can you elaborate on what this does? Also, I don’t think “anomalities” is a word ;). Is “Speeddials” singular, plural, or possessive?

    • SuperTommy

Thankfully, coding software doesn’t require you to be an expert in the English language. 🙂

      • Joe438

True! but I still found it amusing 😉 I’m still curious what he meant though. You don’t happen to know what in the changelog relates to the fix that now allows me to set Opera Stable as the default browser do you?

        • SuperTommy

No, I don’t know. Were you unable to do that before this build? On which OS?

          • Joe438

I was unable to do so before this build or at least in the previous one I was unable to set Opera Stable as the default browser. There was a button to do so in settings, but nothing would happen when I pressed it and a message would pop up every time I started the browser asking me if I wanted to set Opera as my default browser. Finally, I just said “no, and don’t ask me again”.

With this build I can set Opera as my default browser again 🙂 I think I was looking forward to that fix almost as much as the return of the middle click scroll icon.

          • SuperTommy

Was this on Windows 10? I know the behavior to set applications as default doesn’t work the “old way” (with the pop-up message), and they’ve changed that process so it works now. But if you’re on a different OS, then I have no idea. But it works again, that’s most important. 🙂

          • Joe438

Sorry, I just realized I forgot to say. It was Windows 7 64 bit. I had tried to set the default browser via opera:settings and by using the control panel.

Interestingly, in the control panel Opera Stable was not listed among the programs that I could set as a default program. Beta and Developer were though for some reason. I checked several times as I found that rather odd. After this update I can set Opera as the default program via the control panel as well.

          • SuperTommy

Seems it was unable to find the .exe/installation entry, perhaps caused by an error when installing.

          • Joe438

That does sound likely. I had not tried a reinstall of Opera. It is good to know for future reference.

          • Try in the control panel > then internet settings there is an option for setting the default browser

  • David Augustin

Great work Opera developers! Opera is my primary browser on Linux.

I may have found a small issue in Opera for the Linux desktop. If I point the browser to this adress “http://dictionary.reverso.net/german-english/billig” and click on the word “billig” and then choose “speak” from popup menu then the browser will show a small error window (“the page at dictionary.reverso.net says/ An error occured. Please try again.”) instead of hearing the word in the speakers. I don’t get this behaviour on other browsers on the same system. Just wanted to point this out in order to help improve the Opera experience if the case is that this is indeed a browser issue. Greetings from eastern Europe!

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

Hi David. We’ll check this on Linux. Thanks for your report and for using Opera. Greetings from Wroclaw!

  • sgrandin

I installed this by mistake, not noticing it wasn’t a developer or beta version, and have now deleted it. But along the way, I noticed a major annoyance that hasn’t been addressed – large uniform tiles for the Speed Dial and without the website picture in the thumbnails, and no apparent way to get the desired number of thumbnails per row without either expanding the window size to full screen or going to a small dpi.

    • ayespy

Or just zooming out the start page.

      • sgrandin

Shouldn’t need to zoom. 100% works in pre-webkit versions.

        • ayespy

I’m not commenting on what SHOULD be – merely on what IS. I’ll leave the “morality” of what should or shouldn’t be to others.

          • sgrandin

Morality?? Just ordinary functionality, the basics.

    • SuperTommy

Such things will not be addressed in a stable version, but in developer.

  • AS

To Kornelia Mielczarczyk or any other Opera developer.

    Hi.

What’s happened with the youtube player? I don’t understand why using Opera 31 on youtube the player looks this way:

    http://img.liczniki.org/20150818/w3opera31-1439927091.png

On IE11 everything is all right, what’s going on?

Why the player can’t looks like before?

    http://img.liczniki.org/20150818/w3ie11-1439927092.png

    • Sidney Moraes

That is the new player of Youtube and it is the defaut one in Chrome and Firefox too.

      • AS

In my feeling the previous player was nicer, this one is too fat.

        • Sidney Moraes

I like the new one however I feel the performance was better with the old one.

    • SuperTommy

That’s how YouTube (Google) wants it to look. They made it.

      • AS

Youtube has bad taste. This player is gray. By the way on IE11 the player is still which has always been. And it is their browser.

    • The HTML5 & Flash Player video players are a bit different on Youtube

IE 11 might be getting the Flash Player (you can right click on the video area and it will say HTML5 or Flash Player)

    • Spencer

That’s YouTube. They’re rolling out a new HTML 5 default player. You’ll find that in pretty much every browser that’s not IE (I’ve even seen it in Opera 12).

    • ruduh

You can try out this script Right Side Description through extension Violent Monkey. Description: (Previously known as Better Watch Page) improves Youtube’s video pages by moving the video description to the right of the video (like it used to be 2009 and earlier) and putting the title above the video. An optional “Retro Style” setting applies some extra 2009ish style tweaks to the video page, including making the player controls display in light/white mode and removing the ‘Roboto’ font.
      https://greasyfork.org/pt-BR/scripts/976-youtube-right-side-description

    • shadow118

I have the new one on IE as well

    • L33t4opera

Hi, if you want, then you can try this solution (with one exception – you can install the “Stylish” extension from the Opera’s add-ons page) – I noticed a minor issue: if you enable the full screen mode, then in my case, the video content is moved to the bottom of the page.

  • Cryio

I see that no one wrote anything here about it, so I’ll say it.

With this update, Opera now sees it’s running under Windows 10 x64 and not Windows 8.1 x64. Yeei for proper detection.

    • Leonardo Gomes

      Also valid for the beta.

  • Daniel

quien mas tiene el problema de que al estar en fb y llega un mensaje y suena el sonido se reinicia opera ?

    • Is Opera crashing for you when on Facebook and getting a message and the audio sound happens?

      • Daniel

si pero con esta version creo que se soluciono 😀

  • On Windows the updater should make sure Opera is closed before trying to install the update

    • Why? It is not trying to replacing currently running executables or similar.

      • When you install the update it is hard to change the code if the files are in use (Opera was running when the updater tried to install the update, I have only seen it work right a few times)

        • Nekomajin43

Take a look at the Opera folder in the program files! The installer creates a new folder for the new build, and modifies the launcher file. The next time you start the browser, the launcher will use the new folder.

          • Then end users will still be using a version that could have security issues for a while

          • Nekomajin43

Average users do not run the browser for days. They close it several times, but at least at the end of the day.

          • Not always, that would mean a end user is not protect and has buggy code (not many leave it open for a few minutes)

It used to work correctly at one point

          • Nekomajin43

            So what is your problem?

          • It should close Opera first so that the end user is protect with the security fixes, rather than leave them open to attack

          • Nekomajin43

They are currently working on some kind of built-in update notifications. Take a look at the changelog of v32 beta.

          • I know they have been working on it for a while, the install button did not always work (I had to close manually to get the update to install on restart of Opera)

          • Leonardo Gomes

There is a pop-up warning about the update so the user will at least know that there’s a new build.

  • twm

Beta is much faster currently, so will wait a little more before switching to stable.

  • Vladimir

And again in the Ukrainian version of Opera is not added to the Guidelines (News) section of the game? !!!!!

  • Vladimir

Developers Opera, add your browser to locate on the site https://crowdin.com/
Translations will constantly keep up to date.

Bug report: After installing update adn restarting opera, there is no history items on history tab(Ctrl+H) after the point of updating. What should I do?? Try removing and installing again?

  • Александр Зиберов

Where i can download latest stable 32bit version of Opera for Ubuntu?

    • Leonardo Gomes

You can’t. Opera 32 bits for Linux didn’t get stable channel yet.

  • Davey126

I realize this is not the proper place to report bugs with ‘experimental’ features but I’m hoping someone will take note and file the appropriate document. Prior to Windows 10 I set tabs to hibernate via an experimental flag. Worked great on several different machines. After Win 10 upgrade individual tabs and eventually the entire browser grind to a halt after a few hours (presumably when tabs hibernate) or upon waking from sleep. Restarting the browser restores performance. Disable tab hibernation and the problem goes away. Win 10 Pro x64. Opera 31.

  • Lidarose

Opera Updating Itself? When I logged onto my computer tonight I noticed in Add/Remove Programs that Opera had updated itself today, i.e., latest version was there with today’s date noted thereon. I had not updated it manually in any way! Please explain someone, and tell me where I can set my update preferences for this version, (V. 31.0.1889.174) of Opera…Running Win 7, SP1 Thanx, Lida 🙂

    • Rafael Luik

      Welcome to the internet.

    • Joe438

Find the shortcut for Opera. In properties and in the target add a space after the ending quote and add –disable-update Auto update is now turned off. You can confirm this in the opera:about page. Now you can update Opera when you want, but you will have to install the updates manually.

      “C:Program Files (x86)Operalauncher.exe” –disable-update

      • Burek

Won’t help if opera is run from a http (or other) link in another application.

        • Joe438

It also appears that you need to go to Control Panel > System Security > Schedule Tasks > In Task Schedule Library disable the Opera Scheduled Auto update. That is for Windows 7.

It looks obvious, but I would like to get confirmation on this.

          • Burek

But you’ll never know whether Opera create new schedule. This is not complete solution.

          • Vux777

my 100% working solution is to block opera_update in firewall
            actually, allowing only Opera.exe…

    • Leonardo Gomes

Opera has autoupdate since a long time.

    • Lidarose

Thanx, all, I’m fine with keeping it updating itself, just didn’t know it did that! 😉 Lida

      • Rafael Luik

I hope you didn’t mind my little joke. 🙂

    • At least that is how it is meant to be. For me the standard procedure/reply when checking the version is this: “30.0.1835.110 – Opera ist auf dem neuesten Stand”. But I am already used to this behaviour, so I don’t care anymore.

    • Davey126

You can’t via the UI. Opera has been updating itself for the past several versions (believe the capability was introduced in v20). There are command line switches you can use to disable auto-update. Google for syntax.

  • Rafael Luik

Linux version link is broken, it’s leading to Opera 12.16.

    • When I look at the links the tooltips are broken in Opera, the urls are getting cut off (sometimes in the middle of letters)

  • Sent in 5 crash reports today (via Opera auto crash reporter)

  • matic rosm

Opera does not show URL. I have checked the settings Show advanced settings.

  • Chawoobie

Has anyone else noticed a slow down in the current stable build? On both my laptop and desktop, after using for a while, Opera seems to get less and less responsive, and eventually freezes. On my laptop, I noticed that at these times Disk Usage is up at 100% or close to it. I switched to the Beta (32) and it seems to be noticeably faster, with far less disk usage.

I’m going to try completely uninstalling the stable version then reinstalling to see if that helps.

    • Davey126

Yes. Check if tab hibernation is enabled under opera://flags. This experimental setting should be disabled by default but I found it effective on Win 8.1 and had flicked it on. After upgrading to Win 10 I experienced the behavior you describe. Disabling tab hibernation fixed it. Others have reported disabling Windows superfetch service helps with high CPU utilization and Chromium based browser slowdowns. My tests confirmed this on early Win 10 builds but recent MS updates (some within the past week) seem to have reduced the negative impacts of Superfetch. I do not recommend disabling this service as it dramatically reduces paging on modest systems with Win 10.

      • Chawoobie

Thanks! I’ll give it a try.

  • AS

I did the background for the example, I put it to the film, I added on youtube and on IE it looks this way:

    http://files.tinypic.pl/i/00694/ewqx0kvtj4nx.png

On Opera 31 with new player it looks this way:

    http://images.tinypic.pl/i/00694/25374na0nlg7.png

As can be seen there is a difference in the colour of the green background, there is a kept original green colour on IE and on the Opera with the new player the green colour was lightened, why this is happening?

  • ayyyylmao

Snapping 2 Opera windows still makes them unresponsive.

  • Kev87

On windows XP SP3, there is since version 30 a crash after you do the following: you enable Opera Turbo, close the browser, restart it (with speed dial as startpage) and navigate to a website.

  • Vux777

I think there’s a bug in keyboard shortcuts
    sidebar extensions by default have

    -“Enable extension sidebar” (_execute_sidebar_action)
    -“Enable the extension” (_execute_browser_action)

while “other” (non-sidebar extensions) have only
    -“Enable the extension” (_execute_browser_action)

    (in parenthesis are my guessing)

in the case of sidebar extension
“Enable the extension” shortcut counts as browserAction click

….so at least, title/description is misleading
it has nothing to do with start/enable extension, but with action which I defined in BG for browserAction click

    …..trololololooo
    in other words:
I have session sidebar extension with browserAction icon

click on browserAction will save session
if I define shortcut for “enable the extension” !!!
that shortcut will save session (behaves like browserAction click)

Ohh…and shortcuts for opening SB extensions won’t work if sidebar is not active
    ..this sucks

          Win10 and Intel HD4600 here.

          • Sidney Moraes

Intel HD 4000 here. I notice lags playing the video in 1080 but in 720 is smooth.

  • http://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/through-the-wormhole/videos/morgan-freeman-on-helium/ The video there is broken in both Opera and Safari (there are a lot of CSP violations) (There is around 200 some error on the site)

The video itself is on a different domain (http://netstorage.discovery.com)

This site has had the issue for months now

Sent feedback about the site on http://www.sciencechannel.com (feedback button after you scroll down for a while)

    • tdudziec

As for me video worked fine on http://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/through-the-wormhole/videos/morgan-freeman-on-helium/

This is a flash video and it could depends of flash you are using – please install the newest PPAPI

      • Nope not for me at all (I have both PPAPI and NPAPI Flash both fully updated(I usually get the updates before they hit auto update server))

It failed for me in both Opera and Safari (looked via web inspector and saw lots of CSP violations), looks like both Opera and Safari were blocking the video

I can’t do any clicktoplay (click and nothing happens at all)

      • I am blocking the Facebook connect & Twitter widget to speed up the page load

tdudziec are you using click to play for plug ins?

  • Jhon Doe

After this update opera is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slowling… every action take too time… the las week i don´t haved this problems whit the opera browser

    • Vux777

try disable hardware acceleration in settings (at the bottom)
      and see if it helps

  • Does anyone else on https://vimeo.com/23836422 have click to play activate 3 seconds into the video and then they can’t click to play?

    OS X 10.10.5

Opera stable 30 crashes immediately, constantly ( your browser has recovered from a crash) for 2 months now. I installed 31 and exactly the same behaviour . I’m surprised I can write this message.. opera next works fine. What to do?

    • Kornelia Mielczarczyk

Hi, what’s your operating system? I’m sorry that you’ve got such problems with Opera but I need more details to solve it. Are there any extensions installed on your browser? Are you using synchronisation? Was this clean installation or you updated from prevoius version?

      • Janmartens

Hi Kornelia , I thought having answered but something didn’t work as expected.
        I’m using Win 7.
The problem occurred on a sunday night after a “heavy” browsing session with many open tabs for a long time. I also had a sandboxed ( Sandboxie)session open. Opera 30 started crashing then . I reinstalled opera30 , removed opera 30 and installed again . Nothing worked . I then installed opera next and this works perfectly.
Now i have win 10 and tried to install opera 31 stable ,the same problem persisted. Opera next again works fine. I’m using opera for 8 years and never had a problem. I liked the RSS reader so much, any chance ? Thaks for helping me out.

      • Janmartens

Sorry I was too fast . I synchronise with a samsung tablet 4 and istallled extensions are: evernot webclipper, evernote clearly ,pinterest button ( chrome), pushbullet, instapaper, stict workflow, ballloon and download chrome extension

        • Janmartens

Hi last month i posted about the impossibility of opêra 30 and 31 stable to work for longer than 31 seconds. Do you have any clue now??

  • Janmartens

the post i wrote from opera next. I couldn’t believe it worked i checked

opera 31.0.1889.174 fails with chromium iframe bug, see:

Replacing iframe content with a “javascript:” URI is broken

had same version go black when 3 or more tabs opened. just upgraded to 32.0.1948.25 which is a beta i think – will keep you posted.

  • Burek

    Hi.

Opera crashes the whole Windows on exit (bluescreen). Not every time but most of the time. Funny thing is that I need to click Opera->Zakoncz (close?exit? I don’t know English version) for three times to make Opera close. I just clicked once before writing this message and Opera didn’t close.

It happens since several versions. I tried to disable hardware acceleration – no change.

I usually have opened 3-4 Opera windows.

OS: Windows Vista 32 bit, 3GB RAM, Intel

It’s very annoying and dangerous to my data.

    BlueScreenView says that:
    Bug Check String: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    Bug Check Code: 0x00000050
    Caused By Driver: ntkrnlpa.exe
    Caused By Address: ntkrnlpa.exe+982c2

    • Burek

Oops, it happened again. This time:

      Bug Check String: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
      Bug Check Code: 0x1000008e
      Caused By Driver: win32k.sys
      Caused By Address: win32k.sys+9687d

Those 2 errors repeat, addresses are different every time.

No other application crashes that way.

      • Do you have all updates installed for Vista?

        • Burek

          Yes, all updates istalled.

  • UMaster 7

tab sync via laptop and android phone stopped since setting up again yesterday 🙁

    Win8.1×64, Android 5.1.1

    • UMaster 7

yesterday for some seconds the laptop tabs appeared and are gone again sadly. I noticed that my laptop was listed two times with the same name, maybe this can help solving this bug after someone like me had to delete his profile folder due to an security issue. Any workaround available or bugfix planed? Thanks.

This new youtube player change the background colour? I can put here a link to video where it’s see.

  • Vux777

can you do something about tabs closing?
it takes 1-2 second on some sites
especially when closed with mouse gesture

    for instance:
pages like twitter (try to close it with mouse gesture)

  • Burek

Why you guys make things harder?
We cannot control updating, we cannot control proxy etc.
Why there is no possibility of configure that in Opera?

  • Sebesi Mihaly

Opera browser works slowly, youtube is slow… if i go to another tab videos are lagging on Youtube .

i have windows 10 pro on Acer aspire 5732z.

  • NimeshT

Is the download button hidden for everyone or is it just me?

    • Leonardo Gomes

      I can see it here.

    • mikeblob .

Same here, I see it for a second on start then it vanishes.
Had to get a chrome extension for download.

    • NimeshT

download in progress but download button missing. http://i.imgur.com/5hFBPbL.png

      • mikeblob .

yes, same thing here. I am now using the chrome extension chrono for download.

    • eXzentrik

Seems to be a bug that the download icon disappears when disabling tab menu. Try to activate or deactivate the “tab menu” in the options or under opera:flags.

  • Katsura Ito

How can I uninstall this? I didn’t mean to download it. It says is unavailable and won’t uninstall. Please help

  • catup

hey, it’s still opera 31.0.1889.161 when I download it from Opera.com. It says “up to date” when tried to use auto update.

  • K. B.

    Hello,
in this version (and previous stable too) Opera hang out system almost immediately after start. Few times, instead of this, system log out.

I suppose there’s something with extensions – menu “Extensions ->” doesn’t show “Extension menager” and “Side bar” (Pasek boczny in polish ver.) – there’s black field without any text.
    Putting “opera://extensions/” makes system crash.
I tried to back to previous ver. and remove all two extensions and then update – no effects.
Clear folder “~/.config/opera” – the same.

    Last working version was
    opera-stable_30.0.1835.125_amd64

In beta version everything is OK.

    Linux Mint 64, newest (17.2), Core i5, 4GB RAM.

  • Bjarne Bertelsen

I used Opera years ago, when Firefox and chrome came out with new bells and whistles, I defected, NOW Opera has WAY surpassed those scoundrels! Even with the current bugs, Opera outshines and out performs in every way. Thanks Opera tech guys & gals!
