      Thx so much!
Finally we can have Opera for Fedora.

      • You are welcome. Though I should mention that I have been maintaining this repository for about a month already and prior to that I have outlined numerous install options publicly.

Some people have been running Opera on Fedora all the way back to the first developer 24 releases. 😉

DNA-33018 [Engine] App cache is not saved ☣

Bruce did it… blame him ツ

  • Vux777

    how to reload SD?

only those that came with O have preview…
this is an issue from some time now

    • Leonardo Gomes

Even with experimental start page disabled?

      • Vux777

no, when I disable it, thumbnails.db is loaded

        • Leonardo Gomes

Afaik it’s a known bug on the experimental start page.

  • BratetsVolk

Opera Team, say please where in the Opera option as on the attached picture? http://s1.sendimage.me/mbowVjlk.png (the link is just a picture .png) . All browser-based chromium there is such an option, and in Opera I can’t find. Tell me where she is.

    • Leonardo Gomes

There’s no such option in Opera.

      • BratetsVolk

There is no such option, or no interface to control it? This feature is completely removed from the Opera and now there is no built-in browser check for malware, or it is disabled by default?

        • Leonardo Gomes

There is a malware checker, enabled by default.

  • Gustav Ekner

    Beta this week? 🙂

    Pretty please? 🙂

    • ayespy

Pretty darn soon, you may count on it. The updates are coming smaller and closer together, meaning the version is about to jump up to the next stream – which or course means 29 will be appearing on the Dev channel, on its heels.

  • Gustav Ekner

It would be nice if one could change the image preview of a bookmark in the bookmarks manager

Still Sync not working for me
    http://s9.uploads.im/O30uE.jpg

    • tdudziec

From what location have you been trying to log into sync?

Have you been using any VPN ?

      • siamak

From Iran, and no there no vpn connection.

    • tdudziec

      please set the env variable

      OPERA_SYNC_LOG=1
      or start opera with –opera-sync-log

      then after some sync disconnection
      please close opera and
then go to your profile ( path would be visible in opera:about)
      and send your opera.log
      to e.g.
      tdudziec@opera.com

      • siamak

this time stuck on loading! Log emailed.

    • tdudziec

Please tell me also which opera were you using and which extension you have installed that you have such a ‘key’ graph near address bar. close to adblock plus graphic.

  • Der Herr Nick

Touching a Disqus post via touchscreen still makes this site unresponsive. What a bummer.

    • Marcin Mitek

We are looking into this. Thanks.

  • Michal

Isn’t stability stuff supposed to be in a beta instead of this alpha?

    • Leonardo Gomes

You need some stabilisation before moving to beta.

      • Michal

        Some, yes.

  • inDigazzZ

Typing numbers in address field causes crash.

and typing letters u, j and b n cyrillic layout.
u in english layout and г in Cyrillic layout
j only in cyrillic layout (о)
b only in cyrillic layout (и)

    • What os do you run?

      • inDigazzZ

Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Technical Preview.

      • inDigazzZ

I’ve turned off opera://flags/#favorites-bookmark-backend and there’s ‘other’ bookmarks in speed dial.

Are Bookmarks and SD-Bookmarks different things?!

    • Try switching bookmarks backend for speed dial flag off. Does it resolve your issue?

      • Marcin Mitek

This should do the trick, disable opera://flags/#favorites-bookmark-backend, I was able to reproduce it (I wasn’t before, which is weird).

        • Guess I was the “chosen” one to experience it all along… ^^

      • Guest

        Yep… Thanks.

      • inDigazzZ

        Yep. Thanks…

  • Hylian Ticipated

Just like the last build, some of my extensions don’t work 🙁 TamperMonkey’s and Violent Monkey’s scripts do not work.

    • I’ve tried Violent Monkey. After it loaded I created script with only alert(‘Monkey’); It does show correctly on each page load. Tested on Windows 7.

Can you give us some more details on this issue? You using clean profile, any other extensions, what OS you’re using, etc.?

  • tr3w

Please add (back) mouse gesture for “Clone tab”!

    • Lacedaemon

      This, and a shortcut.

      Plus Shift+Esc for Taskmanager

      Plus mouse gesture for “Reload”

      • L33t4opera

        mouse gesture for “Reload”

Check if you have it enabled in Settings > Shortcuts > Enable mouse gestures, hold down right mouse and move it up, then down 😉

        • Lacedaemon

hm I must have missed that for a long time, (or did they add it in the last versions?) thx

          • L33t4opera

            You’re welcome, yes, since version 15 😉

  • Der Herr Nick

Strange behaviour: Opening any post on “stadt-bremerhaven.de” (like this one: http://stadt-bremerhaven.de/windows-10-fuer-raspberry-pi-2-angekuendigt/) causes heavy CPU load. Opening the main page hardly uses any CPU.
    Win 8.1/64
    Can anyone confirm?

    • Yes, up to 30% load on Windows 7.

    • Dmitry Kirin

No, nothing suspicious here on Win7x64.

    • Marcin Mitek

It spikes up a little, but I saw pages that are more taxin on CPU while loading. I’d say nothing unusual, does it slows down the loading of the page? Or is it just increased CPU load?

      • Der Herr Nick

It’s not only while loading the site: CPU is constantly high while the site is open, even when fully loaded. Doesn’t happen on other browsers.

  • Ralf Brinkmann

    Where’s the wishlist?

Ok, here is one wish from me:
What I miss, is a continuous scrolling and page linking with the space key, like 12.x had it. As a workaround I use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/link-pager/cgddacggfmoggigikjjcogdodjiplibe now, but this causes a reload of the page on some forum pages, when I type a space into a text field. So it would be better to have it as a native feature in the browser like in Opera 12.x.

  • Кostadin

Yey, finally blog layout reverted back to normal 🙂

  • Gloriam

When will we get this version for Opera beta? (I miss calling it Opera Next)

  • Alex

Will the coast-like speed dial thumbnails be back? The page is so messy with the screenshots and it’s hard to tell one speed dial item for another.

    • mb

Yep, I constantly have to search for the speed dial I want

  • It would really be cool if you would alphabetize the highlight to search context menu. Further, make it available in text fields as well. Thank you.

  • hundred.or.zero

This script I created, for installing Opera under Ubuntu, appears to be working fine. Just want to confirm if it’s correct.

    # Install Opera Browser
    wget -O – http://deb.opera.com/archive.key | sudo apt-key add –
sudo sh -c ‘echo “deb http://deb.opera.com/opera/ stable non-free #Opera Browser (final releases)
    ” >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera.list’
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get -y install opera-stable
    sudo apt-get -y install opera-beta
    sudo apt-get -y install opera-developer

    • This is totally unneeded. When you install one of the Opera deb’s it sets up the repository and key automatically for you.

Just install the first Opera package and from there you can apt-get to install different streams or updates.

Your post has finally prompted me to remove the manual instructions from the deb.opera.com front page. People ignore the comment that manual setup is unneeded and proceed with manual configuration anyway.

      • hundred.or.zero

No I didn’t ignore the comment on deb.opera.com , I just was (and still am) unable to figure out permanent download link for Opera that I intend to use with wget (don’t want to use browser for package downloading. Not even once) . Therefore I opted for alternative method.

  • mb

If I could do one feature request, I’d like Opera to alert me if I close it and there are downloads running. I can’t count how many times I’ve closed a download accidentally. I know there was a plugin I used for that but I forgot the name 🙂

  • Gloriam

When can I use 60 fps in youtube videos in Opera, will that be implemented any time soon?

    • Sidney Moraes

I can watch 60 fps videos with HTML5 player.

      • Leonardo Gomes

        But probably only webm ones.

  • Youngtraktor

Is it possible to export bookmarks from Opera?

  • Dima S

Is it just me or the Yosemite translucency in address bar is gone in this version? Also, are there plans to include even more transparency effect for Macs?

  • Dark Magician

    Feedback would be:
As soon as Vivaldi gets into stable version, I’m deleting Opera, and not recommending or installing it.
I don’t really see how your new plan for Opera of dumbing down is working,
nobody likes it, I don’t see you’ve gained market share.
And you have waisted too much time, of doing basically nothing except raising version number, which is only a guarantee of loosing customer loyalty.

Do what we asked, make advanced options optional, leave basic as default to appeal to ordinary people. Done.

    • Marko Koivuniemi

I don’t have plans to get rid off Opera but I must admit that I like the attitude of Jon and I hope CEO’s of both companies will cook up something funny (being like F1 bosses Branson and Fernandes). Time will tell what browser I use in the future – race is just started. Vivaldi takes super start but still Opera has been running quite many laps ahead.

      • Lacedaemon

Many laps only in stability… in features compared to Presto, they have
        1. The Tab Menu,
        2. Stash that became Bookmarks
        3. Discover

        and that’s it.

Don’t forget Jon is the real Opera, not this.

        • Marko Koivuniemi

Jon was part of “real” Opera – as well as Geir Ivarsøy. But I see Opera something bigger than one man. As a long time user of Opera I remember now Vivaldi’s staff Jon, Olafur and Yngve – but still there are Håkon, Haavard and others. But still I’m interested to see what kind of browser we will get. Opera As has grown and it must first think stockholders and nerds after that. I hope both browsers cope well. Opera has survived strong competition before – there’s no reason to think Vivaldi could achieve something IE/Chrome/Firefox havent succeedeed. Opera is live and kicking.

    • sssas

      YEAH!

    • nanana1

That’s okay and your decision to make. Just let you know we are always here and will give you a warm welcome if you do come back to Opera. 🙂

  • Ralf Brinkmann
    • Kurt Zon

      Thank you ,Ralf..

  • aaa839

Until Now,I’m still facing crash with Opera Dev ver…
When I typing any letter on the address bar more than two letter
the browser will hanging and crashes itself(and it will restart the browser…)
I don’t know how to fix
How should I report this kind of issues?

    • Vux777

      try disabling experimental address bar
      opera://flags/#experimental-addressbar

      • aaa839

        @leocgomes:disqus
        Yes I have enable that,
        @Vux777:disqus
I have try to disable that but no luck

        Updated:
Thanks for the hints by @leocgomes:disqus
the Error was caused by bookmark backend for speed dial

    • Leonardo Gomes

Do you have bookmark backend for speed dial enabled by chance?

  • [Bug] using opera developer [any version in linux – ubuntu gnome x86_64] + pushbullet [smartphone notification] freeze notifications

    • Lacedaemon

      Try disabling Ghostery…

      • newscpq

cough, cough… true, but… who told you, I use Ghostery?

        • Wando Schneider

          Isn’t obvious? 😀

  • ayespy

To give you a chance to retain me as a user of Opera as my default browser, at least until Vivaldi implements integrated MAPI-capable email, my most ardent wish for Opera 29 Dev would be to see you implement a vertical bookmarks toolbar I can place on the right, or vertical tabs. Your choice.

  • Footman

    Hey,
I get often CPU usage over 100% on mac osx yosemite.

  • L33t4opera

The first Opera developer 29.0.1770.1 😉

    • Lacedaemon

      – Sharing individual bookmarks and new ticking icons and color
      – Clicking on Bookmarks the cursor finally goes to the search textfield (as expected from day-1)
      – “Developer tools” renamed to “Developer”
      – Some new flags like “Platform hardware accelerated video decoding”, “Disable NPAPI”, “Activity WebUI”, “Upload bookmark thumbnails directly”, “Extended search statistics…”, ” win32k renderer lockdown” etc..
      – “Protected content” added to settings
      – Some refinements like “Changed” and “Unchanged” Experiments

Minor things and under the hood mostly. I’m experiencing a better flash performance (ex. 60fps) and better tab and overall responsiveness though which is a good thing.

      • L33t4opera

Yes, some nice changes, and few new flags, but the users, who don’t like the navigation bar permanently placed at the bottom, should not update to this version 😉

        • Lacedaemon

yes, forgot to mention it 🙂

    • Dave-H

      Not updating here.
      🙁

      • L33t4opera

Hi Dave, if you don’t like the navigation bar permanently displayed at the bottom, then do not update to this build 😉
        (DNA-33228 Remove WebuiNavigationBar flag)

        • Dave-H

Doesn’t worry me, but thanks for the heads up!
The announcement link is dead at the moment.

          • L33t4opera

The announcement has just been published 😉

    • Vux777

all my SD’s are folders now, and if I drag out thumbnail from folder I can’t delete empty folder
      edit:
